This implies that impostors have different specializations and individual roles, similar to an ant colony!

Do you have any more impostor biology headcanons or was that just for that specific drawing?

Kinda! Warning this all stems from the idea that Imposters are a species that existed before Mira but they kinda colonized and selectively bred tf outta them to make them company workers ok

Imposter roles used to be very diverse and there were plenty to select from but after Mira the roles were slimmed down into Soldier, Nursery, and (rarely) Worker. The parasite worms only hatch when they’ve matured enough to inhabit a host, though what role inhabited a host only becomes visually apparent when they’ve fully fused with a host.

Once a imposter parasite has been in a host for like abt a month they’re start to fuse with their host so they can better fulfill their role! Their role mainly determines where the spikes and eyes show but can also determine how much they expand the body and what extra limbs they’ll grow

Ummmmb I guess I have the vague idea that the crew have abandoned the Mira corp and are kinda rebel/protest group against them cause I assume the imposter species don’t want their babies burned alive and both species would be better off if Mira stopped having them haul them across space

#I also like to imagine imposters were creatures native to Polus #before Mira came and destroyed their planet and started using them for their own profit #Green and Orange kinda wanna go back home
