The Wound
"I'm going home"
Right after i left the war i never wanted before, wounded
-
"It's too deep. This may take a while to heal"
"Thanks doc. I'll make sure to take care about it"
He left me alone in the room. I walk to the front of the mirror and turn around. Yes it's so deep. I must have a really bad sleep because of this. I need to be extra careful for that.
"Hey, you okay there?"
The doctor is back, seems like he forgot something.
"Oh, yeah. I'm okay. The medicine helps me"
"You better never look at it again. It would just brings the pain"
"Only the matter of time that i would remember about this scar. Either i'm looking at it or not."
"You should try to live with it" as he left me again, bringing the document he forgot before.
"I'm gonna live with it forever"
-
"Hey i promise, we would help each other out there" the captain handled me the gun
"I'm really not ready for this, capt. I never did this before"
"Relax. The captain is here" said someone who has been in the war for 2 years, confidently
"Yes and don't forget that he is experienced. He would help you a lot"
"Okay then. I believe you guys"
-
"Sir, here. I finished it" as i handled my 1st weekly report to my new boss
"Thanks. You're looking better day by day."
"Thanks boss" i smiled and left.
I take a round to the pantry to take some tea. Lack of sleep makes me need some light caffeine.
"You really impressed the boss lately"
"Umm thanks? Sorry but do we know each other?"
"Nope. But i heard about you. Just be careful that you might get fired if someone finds out about the war"
I spilled the tea and i feel the scar hurts again.
-
"Jeez. I don't expect something like this" the captain shouted, dodging the bullet behind the wall
"Capt what should we do?"
"Shut up. Your panic doesn't help at all"
"Capt is right. You're just a burden for us" even with his experience, he seems not ready aswell
"But i need you guys for this. I can't go there alone" as i crawling, wounded on the back
"We fight by ourself. We don't need you anymore. Just go"
"But you guys are like my own family. I'm here to help"
"He said go. Listen to the capt"
-
"You left?" The doctor looks surprised
"They asked me. What should i do then?"
"Do you know what happen to them?"
"I don't wanna know about that"
-
"You can't do this anymore. It's better for you to go far away. It might help you a lot"
"Am i really want the war? But i don't know if they still want me to be there"
"Can i leave this? Or it would be just another useless and painful runaway?"
As i said to myself. Looking at my back on the mirror.
