the short stories I have to read for creative writing are SO brutal, and I fell way behind in the reading cuz they’re all so depressing, I couldn’t get through more than one or two at a time…and we got quizzed on the reading, and naturally I failed the quiz cuz I’m so behind…this is rough…

I just wanna go back to reading YA lit :( at least YA lit approaches those same brutal themes in a human way. these stories are all so emotionless and it’s scary, like a police report……
