Superiority, 2016
This collection of collages challenges the thought of racial superiority. To the average American, the upper ruling class may be said Caucasian. To the person who knows history, this notion may not foresee the future.
What if the tables were flipped? What if the Black population were the superior group as far as social/class structures are concerned. Whites the minority? What if racism was an entity held by the opposing group? Some may even ask WHEN the tables flip or argue that Whites ARE the minority.
Wherever your thoughts lie, never forget to question and challenge. Ask yourself, “What can I be doing to dismantle racism?”

Superiority is now exhibiting at Old North Restoration Group in St. Louis, MO February 5th, 2016 - March 5th, 2016

Manchild, 2015
The relationship a Black boy has with his mother is detrimental, especially those who grow up fatherless. The mother takes over both roles of mother and father in the hopes of providing the best male perspective possible. Sometimes it isn’t enough.

NEW WORK ALERT!
Herbal Womyn, 2015
I was so happy to be apart of the biggest Midwest art festival in the U.S.! I'm even more happy to sell a few prints. Gladly, Cranky Yellow will become a permanent store front in St. Louis and I'll get to sell my work there! Thank God for cool friends!
Queen [kween] noun 1. a female sovereign or monarch -- Queen is a collection of digital drawings that highlight the under-appreciated beauty of Queens of all calibers. From the ballroom and music industry to activists and revolutionary, all queens MUST be celebrated.
Chicago based artist, Lola Ogbara, uses the male/female body form to create digital botanical facades and illusions. If you look closely you can see that these are not just petals, seeds, and leaves but depictions of the artist’s own body parts along with others.

Yo.
My name is Lola Ogbara. I go by Leaux (Lo) sometimes. I make art, as you can see. I guess you can say I’m a multi-medium artist. I dabble in a few things like graphic design, painting, photography, collage works, multi-media, and perhaps more. I am also an arts administrator. I’ve graduated from Columbia College in 2013 with a BA in Arts Entertainment & Media Management with a concentration in Visual Arts Management. This allows me to approach art in a business facet and not just an artist point of view.
I’ve had quite a few experiences earning a living in the arts. I’ve worked in art galleries from St. Louis to Chicago, at a design company as their image consultant, even a chess museum, and now a non-profit arts organization. Let’s not forget of course taking commissions and doing photography/design on the side. I hadn’t realized until recently that my life is literally art. Art consumes a large part of my life—from my day job to my own personal work and extracurricular activities. Art is life. I’m not complaining. I honestly wouldn’t have it any other way.
So let’s get to it. This blog, essentially, is my process outside of my brain. I will empty out all most of my art related ideas, processes, inspirations and adventures. From the drawing board to exhibitions, you’ll get to see it all. Most importantly, you get to see my art! If you just happen to be reading this little ol blog here, do engage because it’s lit. Comment, follow, and share! Until next time…
