This duo was revolutionary in itself because this was the first time I saw a guy legit check for a curvy woman on screen, and I believed it.

Jean‐Michel Basquiat Obnoxious Liberals 1982 acrylic, oilstick, and spray paint on canvas 68 x 102 in. (172.72 x 259.08 cm)
Fat black women are apart of the marginalized group of black women. They’re turned into memes. They’re the poster children for what’s wrong with our community. They’re not considered beautiful. They’re harassed. They experience intersectional discrimination of racism and fatphobia. They’re made a mockery of. And they’re always compared to a racist point in history that forces them to feel shame and guilt for existing (the mammy reference). Fat black women deserve a healthy, positive representation in black culture. They’re not your shame you hide in the back of a closet.
