Day 6: HIDDEN Well, I took upon on mixing this with my personal experiences by adding that glimpse of that mom life lol! 😂😉 So my son loves to hide things and one of them is the remote control. Sometimes he'll peek at the corner just to see I'm looking for it. Sometimes, his older sisters, who are twins, will help me. (Trying to catch up since I started late and on top of it, I'm sick .. *sigh*😧) #artbylizdette#inktober2016#inktober#thatmomlife#micronpen#005#instadrawing#blackinkdrawing
Starting late on the #inktober2016 !! This is Day 5: SAD. That feeling where everything around you is ascending.. or others are blossoming while you're descending, or falling.. that's how I interpret sadness. It pulls you down but, "The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." - Nelson Mandela #artbylizdette#blackinkdrawing#micronpen#005#inktober#instaphoto#instadrawing
Enjoying your own company
Remembering my college days, before having my own car, where I take the bus & train wherever. Some days I’ll be going to the Los Angeles public library to do research but, ended up having fun due to being in love with the architecture and, just being surrounded with so much books. Or randomly just getting off anywhere before your destination to grab something to eat or to just explore and, sketch. Or simply just getting off from another stop just to sit, relax and listen to your music. To indulge the music playlist I put together for this moments and, the beauty of growing up, imagining the future and, just expecting the best. Mind you, I didn’t have a smart phone with internet where I can snapchat or Instagram or just go to the internet; It was my iPod, metro pass and sketchbook in those adventures. These are what I wish one day my children will enjoy as well: to be able to enjoy their own company. Not relying their entertainment and, happiness to others. It’s not that it’s bad either if they do but, I want them to feel that independency and, embrace it. I’m not going to live forever (My golly, I do sound like a Mom now hehehe!).
Another benefit I got from those experience, I learned my way around that way. So when I finally was driving, I recognize some of the streets! Los Angeles became my big playground, quest, adventure and, so much more. It will always have a special place in my heart. Now, it’s time to enjoy some adventures here in Michigan.

Always there
I thought of doing photo editing since it’s been awhile when I did one. This one sums up what I felt when I took the photo. I want my children to feel and know that no matter what, I’ll always be there. ^_^
Continuing from my previous post, these what came out after that drawing. My hand was itching for some arts to be done, plus strong emotions that needs to be express hence, the details on each of them. It was “at the moment” kind of thing, no pencil it in, not fearing the mistakes but, just letting my hands, mind and heart take over. I can say, portraiture will be one of the few styles I feel confident, my forte. Something about capturing people’s personality, expression and style inspires me in drawing.
Enjoy!
