When most people see this piece for the first time, they see the word "Exit". Which was my intention when I painted it. I wanted people to see that word first. But the whole message behind this piece is that we need to pay attention, we need to be alert. We need to Exist... before we take our ultimate Exit. Exist is one of the pieces available on the Fire Sale at a deep discount. It can be purchased in my studio or at the profile link.
And where there is me, there is him. "Him", an abstract portrait of my love's face. 60" x 48" acrylic on canvas 2016 (at Mana Contemporary Chicago)
Working at the @renhotels on Wacker today. They asked me to paint them a 70' long mural, and a 70' long mural I will deliver! Come say hi if you're in downtown Chicago. 💙 #LookUpChi
I'd like to introduce you to "Her", and in doing so I'm also introducing you to myself. At least how I see myself today. "Her" is me. My first self portrait. ...A selfie? As an abstract artist, it wasn't the first thing I thought of. In fact it took 15 years of painting to get to a point where I thought I'd be able to present myself in an abstract yet precise manner. So here she is, "Her", me. 60" x 48" Acrylic on canvas 2016 (at Mana Contemporary Chicago)
Most people see this piece and see the word "Exit". But allow me to show you what I see, what I intended you to see when I painted this piece. Exist. See it now? This piece has sparked many interesting conversations. In one of my favorites, @adadgetsbusy pointed out that the "S" is very feminine - both in its color and curvy form. He also reminded me that we would not exist without our women - without our mothers. We exist among another, but so often we are on our phones. Including myself right now as I type this. Let's exist together, get to know each other again. Ask each other about our days, tell each other about our dreams. Exist before we take our ultimate Exit. 💙

Today I celebrate with family and friends the life of a great man, a man I have called grandpa for as long as I know, even without blood relations. In his honor, I included this message in my latest piece. I know he is smiling at me from Heaven. RIP, Grandpa, you beautiful blissful soul. 💙
I painted this piece live at Fulton Market, so imagine if you will sitting down to a lovely group dinner and there is an artist painting a large piece with an eye catching pattern. Imagine approaching this artist and her painting and seeing a very thin red outline of letters spelling out the word "REJECTION" in all caps. That's what happened more than a few times when I was working on this. In a hasty effort to explain, I asked them to be a little patient. My work is about positivity, self-reflection and spreading unconditional love. Most people were hesitant to trust me, and I couldn't blame them. Then over the thin outline of the word "REJECTION" I painted in huge, bold black letters the word "REJECT", also in all caps. The message is "Reject Rejection". Accept acceptance. Love yourself. I love you, no matter who you are. #RejectRejection
Last weekend I went to NYC to visit some of my favorite painters and their marvelous creations. Each of my favorites had some advice to share. I incorporated some of my ideas born on that trip in this piece. I don't know what else it will get but it will get a little something more. 💙 (at Mana Contemporary Chicago)
The commissioned diptych is complete! Photos don't quite do it justice. It has layers upon layers of paint using different viscosity, texture, sheen and color. I used golden pearls and white pearls from various brands to get the different versions of the colors. I even threw some pearl mica flakes on there (literally threw). I love how they turned out. I hope my collector does just as much! 💙 (at Mana Contemporary Chicago)
Some of the best details or moments can be missed when we don't pay attention. "Blackwould" 36" x 36"
Detail shot of "Copperwould". In this piece, I highlighted shapes, forms and symbols that I found that were unintentionally included in the design. (at Mana Contemporary Chicago)

This is half of "Mine Would" and half of "Yours Would". I love how nicely they play together. 💙
Just a touch of pink. 💙
