Leaves
Kinda waylaid on this one...more coming soon!
More color for this rainy Jan
Finally redid this. Feeling ‘meh’ about it which is largely the crap quality of my crayons, I think.
Something bright for this week! I’m back on schedule in #2018.
Finally posting these fall fails! Jk but for real I don’t know what we did in grade school that made it easy but dry fall leaves did not work for me.
I’m back! With #kidart for #fall. I think this was from 4th grade—#maple leaf rubbings with pencil.
Decided to think pink for my redo; this does describe a moment I consider joyful but amusingly, none of the kitties I have lived with have come to me directly from the SPCA. I like the celestial details little me included: sun AND moon AND Venus (let's say) AND a rainbow AND stars and ...birds?? Everyone out to celebrate the union of girl and kitty. Now me can dig it!
Next up: more from my cat-centric childhood world view (little has changed on that front).
Wow. I've been busy. I'm working on a new #100daysproject of #100daysofart which will hopefully have the side effect of pushing me back on schedule. Huzzah!
Since I've been out sick, I'm doing two this week. Adding this portrait of my cat, parents and home (not a yurt IRL, not that there's anything wrong with yurt-living). I've managed to recreate this picture in life, WITHOUT the kid. As I like it. ;)
This week's assignment: clapping back at the notes of this teacher, and her expectations that I should have my life mapped out at 4 (ps I always wanted to be an artist, so I must have not understood the question?? Or just hated her. :))
Ummmmmmm so I kinda skipped over the decoupage rose situation and went straight to ransom note-themed fan art (which is alll that this is, not to worry, FBI!!!). I spent a lot of time on this last week, so this week I'll cool down by finishing the flower.
Feb is Lovvvvvvvvvve month, or it is if you're fishing about for artistic themes to give to school kids. Which seems a bit off, actually, but there you have it. Now that I think about it, there was a lot of encouragement to make valentines for our mothers which is ALSO off, now that I think about it! Anyway. Freud aside, this is piece was made when I was in the baby scissors age range (4-6?). But I swear it looks just like the American Greetings logo. And I love it. No brag. Gonna be hard to improve on this Matissey decoupage. #kidart #decoupage
Pretty happy with this result: not for the first time, I scaled it down the original from 9x12 or so to 3x5 or so for my own convenience. Not gonna lie, the most fun was what we called, "scribble scrabble" back in the day. #adultart
I'm playing catch up again this week! From last week, I present a fruity exploration of form - possibly influenced by the famous children's book, The Hungry Caterpillar. I was definitely obsessed with the food illustrations in that timeless work, though I don't recall any bananas. Hmmm. #kidart #markers
My lemon is not as happy-looking as my Mom’s original but I have beer, so it’s ok.
UPDATE: Mom was in town visiting and confirmed that these drawings are all me! I'm the progenitor of The Dancing Yam. Wish I wanted to open a hippie diner.
