i've been rewatching the livestreams from the artemis ii crew and i'm so emotional about them... i don't even know how to put it into words. (i like to joke about it but i'm completely serious when i say this is baby's first parasocial relationship) i've always been fascinated with space, i've always wanted to see more and explore and discover beyond earth, but unfortunately that's not possible for me. and watching these videos and reading these transcripts again is just... it's so beautiful. when koch said "we will always choose earth, we will always choose each other". when glover said "to all of you down there on earth, and around earth, we love you from the moon." andespecially when hansen's voice shook when he proposed naming the lunar crater after reinhold's late wife, when he spoke for reinhold because reinhold was too emotional to speak. when the crew hugged and when they pulled apart every single one of them was wiping away tears. fuck i started crying alongside them. i love humanity, i love humans so much. every day i wake up and i check the news and the world is burning but every so often there comes something like this, and fuck, i'm crying again, but i just love it so much. i can't even tell you what 'it' is. i love humans. we're so flawed and imperfect and i love us. i love love.
