MAMMON is so attached to his crow familiars. so when he sees you babying them, giving them bits of bread, cooing at them, even petting them, he feels something tug at his heart.
you turn to him, shock and confusion painted all over your face. the crows screech in protest, now that your attention is no longer on them.
“wh— huh? wait, are you crying?!”
rushing to him, you envelop him in your arms and he feels warmth fill his chest and rush up his cheeks. the fuck am i doin’, proposing outta nowhere?!
“n-nothing, it’s just… you’re so good with the kids, and i love you so much that i can’t contain it anymore…”
you hold back the snort that threatened to come out at his remark. did he really just call his crow familiars his kids? beaming up at him, stroking his cheek, crows screeching in the background, you place a kiss on his lips with a smile on your own.
“f-forget it, okay! i wa—”
“yes. yes i’ll marry you, you dummy.”
now it’s him turning to you with the same shock and confusion you had before. he stares at you for a few moments, dumbfounded. he breaks out into a wide, shit-eating grin, but the sigh of relief he let out didn’t escape you.
“D’AHAHAHA! so you wanna marry me, hah? you love me that much? ‘course ya do!”
you roll your eyes at his teasing. “wait ‘till everyone hears that the the great mammon didn’t even have a ring when he proposed.”
he then goes on a rant about how this proposal wasn’t planned anyway, and that this isn’t the actual proposal and that you were going to get a much fancier, more romantic one! so don’t go telling anyone about him crying and proposing after seeing you fawn over his crow babies, alright?! this was just a practice proposal!
you sigh. i love this idiot so much.
