youβre right and you should say it! perhaps art was a bit more snake-ish in the script which is what I think the three of them judge the characters based on, but certainly in the actual film art only unsuccessfully meddled once, and tashi and patrickβs fight had everything to do with tennis - tashi becoming the player that she was bothered patrick and we can see that before he ever sits down with art in that cafeteria.
(and thereβs also the fact that the people who had seen the film early immediately decided art is the victim and it annoyed them shsjsj)
lol and i totally get that all of them were snakes to each other, that was the point, but art definitely was the least shady out of all of them. even in the sauna, i didn't view that as art being snake-ish or malicious toward patrick. he was just finally standing up for himself, which he should! that man has only ever existed as an extension of both tashi and patrick, but he's his own successful person too. he's put in the work to win (tashi and tennis respectively).
idk why everyone (including zendaya and josh o'connor lol) insist that art is the real villain of challengers because all he did was make maybe two remarks to tashi when he was nineteen/twenty. both tashi and patrick knew what he was doing too. if that was enough to get into their heads, then they had bigger problems anyway. plus, tashi and patrick were acting out as grown adults, on multiple occasions. the worst thing that art did was make a little comment when he was a teenager. he didn't make tashi and patrick break up and he didn't cause tashi's injury. i think it's pretty obvious that those things could/would have happened whether or not art had said something that one time.
