Here's a #workinprogress that I have been messing with on and off, I'm thinking about adding in watercolor, and I'm currently playing with the idea of creating art nouveau inspired patterning. It's still hard to stay motivated, sadly. My creativity doesn't seem to come from an internal, home oriented place. Something feels off when I'm making... Here's my current project for #quaranzinefest and #expandedprint. Here's what I want to do, I want to make a wall. I'm hoping to create a series of drawings on toilet paper, however it was a struggle to draw on such a delicate paper without it being a stressor due to time constraints. I am however planning to draw these portraits on single squares of toilet paper to create a wall of portraits who are endangered by coronavirus and the decisions that were made about it. This is predominantly in regards to the initial, rather careless actions that were made by those aware of it. This is to show that these people are having their safety disregarded by those higher up, and they're just as precious and will be needed when there's a shortage because of the actions of a few. It's my desire to amass a group of people, old, diabetic, asthmatics, chemo, etc who are especially at harm of it, as well as essential workers. I am hoping to expand this into people who are losing insurance, who need it for mental or physical health as well. Please send me a picture of yourself and the reason behind why Corona is an increased danger to you, your kids, etc I want you on this wall, if possible! Share this if you can, I'm hoping to find enough people to fill a wall of 4.5 inch portraits, which will be A LOT of people. This includes people who are still working and labeled 'essential' who may be at increased risk or have friends and family at risk Thanks for your help guys, please ask your friends as well! and special thanks to the people who have already submitted photos. Another figure, I think the best thing to do when you aren't feeling creative is to just practice. At the very least you're still creating. I know just a figure sketch isn't all that exciting but here's another one, this time a male figure. Also a reminder to check on your friends and keep an eye on mental health, this is a hidden danger of isolation, and one I've had on my mind as I worry about how people are fairing. I'm sure I'm not alone on this but I've felt horribly motivated artistically while stuck inside. It's almost cramped realizing that home and studio are essentially the same thing right now... Here's my first Litho Print, it's currently on view in Kinston NC, you should check it out if you're up that way until the end of March! she was a blast and the process produces a ton of drawings. The final picture is the stone, etched and inked. She's meant to play with the words of wonder and the sublime, both in how she is portrayed and how anatomy is placed. This is an edition of 7 prints.
