Hello and welcome to my informal blog! My name is Alexis and I am an illustrator (self proclaimed, please hire me) and a studio artist. I created this page to document my journey with digital painting but then the big scary AI monster showed up and I panicked and started painting IRL. You can expect lots of fun fantastical creatures, crazy sketches, and wild ideas here. I welcome you to the crows nest.

So I have been super bitter about AI and have pretty much stopped painting digitally in entirety the last few months, it has been great so far. I do still love digital painting and do it regularly with my students but it seems so useless with AI for my own art. I have developed a strong sketchbook practice where I use the time on the bus and any other free time to draw with a DIY ink brush I made using a watercolor pen. Needless to say my goals have changed and you can expect some different formats from me here on tumblr! I am also going to do my very best to start posting more regularly again, tumblr is my favorite social platform, I really love you all here. I hope you enjoy these sketches, I have so much back works to share<3

Hey, it's been a while! Just some of my favorite details from a few of my digital paintings. The last one is an older piece when I was an absolute digital beginner, but I still really love how Rowan turned out, and it makes me immeasurably happy to see how far I have come on my digital painting journey. Funny enough all of these works are SJM fan art 😂🫣
