during exams i used to get really stressed out about not having enough time to study between, so i designed myself a lil study planner that maps out my week
it has a section for events, a checklist, and a time tracker so i can tell myself to stop freaking out :)

October 28, 2019 | 5:33 PM PT I had a week-long extension on this project, yet this idiot finished at 6 AM, the day this project was due. Oh and I nearly had a heart attack around 3 AM when the color picker window froze up and community responses on Adobe’s help page said that the program needed to be force-quitted. Thankfully, the color picker window closed itself when I pressed esc and I immediately saved my work before I got screwed over again. I’m going to assume the malfunction happened because I hadn’t shut down my laptop for about 4 days. This is a reminder to give your brain and your laptop a break, folks!
Basic sketching tips

idk if anyone will find this useful, but this is how i go about planning my stories. i mostly write fantasy, so that’s what this is most applicable to. but it could work with other genres too.
so there’s three major components to a story: the characters, the plot, and the world. creating them individually is the easy part, but they all connect and affect each other in different ways. (like you can’t have a character who loves peaches and eats them every day if they live a peasant in a region that doesn’t grow peaches, for example.)
so i created a cheat sheet to help connect all three components together.
1) the world creates the characters.
this is related to the peach example above. the characters should be a direct result of the environment they grew up in and the environment they currently live in.
2) the characters are limited by the world.
also related to the peaches. characters can’t do anything outside of what the rules of their surroundings and universe allow, such as eating peaches when they’re not available. this also applies for magic users. they can’t have unlimited magic, so keep in mind what you want out of both the characters and the world when creating magic systems.
3) the characters carry the plot.
we’ve all heard it before: “bad characters can’t carry a good plot. good characters can carry a bad plot.” but we all like a good plot anyway. try to make sure you’re not giving your characters too heavy or too light of a plot to carry.
4) the plot pushes the characters.
if nothing in the plot happens, your characters will remain static forever. if you struggle with plots, try starting with what character development you want to happen, then go from there.
5) the plot depends on the world.
you can’t overthrow the evil government if there isn’t one. think of what your world needs most and what your plot is centered around, and fit those two together.
6) the world is changed by the plot.
even if your plot is centered around something most of your world would call “insignificant”, the world will still experience some change from the plot. either the evil government will be gone, or maybe that one teacher is now way more careful about keeping an eye on the test key. either way, the world will be different from now on.
final note: usually people will be able to write one or two of the components with ease, but don’t know where to go from there. i personally can’t write plots, but thinking this way has really helped me actually make a story out of the world and characters because i looked at what i needed from what i had. i really hope this can help you too! happy writing!

Lagom - A simple new tab page for your browser. Not too much, not too little. Date, Time, Weather, Search – all in a fresh design everyday.
Extensions:
Forest - Yep! Forest as a chrome extension. It watches your time and helps you stay focused so you can have your tree grow as it counts down!
StayFocused - this extension increases your productivity by limiting the amount of time that you can spend on time-wasting websites.
Note Board - Write notes like sticky notes. Save pages with a screenshot to read later or capture easily any web content. You can drag and resize the sticky notes!
Honey - For people who got to buy their supplies! Automatically find and apply coupon codes when you shop online!
Save to Pocket - When you find something in Chrome that you want to view later, put it in Pocket. It automatically syncs to your phone, tablet or computer so you can view it at any time, even without an internet connection.
Grammarly - Grammarly will make sure your messages, documents, and social media posts are clear, mistake-free, and impact!
Snippet - Get all your highlights in one place, instantly searchable, available wherever you go. All your highlights are synchronized and backed up in the cloud. The extension requires a FREE account you can create immediately after the installation.
Cite This For Me - Simply browse to the page you wish to cite and click the button to generate a correctly formatted citation. Then copy-and-paste the citation into your assignment, or add it to your online bibliography for safe keeping until later.
Toby Mini - Same as Toby, but not on the new tab. Organize your browser tabs and access them quickly anywhere.
Kami Extension - Best PDF and Document Annotation and Markup Tool. Works with Google Drive and Google Classroom
Ideally, I'd like a Leuchtturm1917 or a Mossery or an Archer & Olive or xyz, but I live in India and I cannot afford international shipping.
I'd also like to letter away with Tombow or Koi Brush pens, take down notes in Zebra, Pentel, Pilot and Muji all the time but I can't do that either because the expenses add up drastically.
I have so many friends who have been intimidated at the thought of bullet journalling because they've seen elaborate and beautiful spreads on Pinterest, Tumblr and Instagram, and that's distorted their view of what the system is about.
If you like expressing your creativity through the bujo, by all means do so. If you like purchasing and writing with more exclusive instruments, invest in them and derive joy when you write. If that's what the system is for you, more power to your belief.
But to the population looking to get into bujo, not having access to dot grid notebooks with N GSM paper or Fude pens - that is not what bullet journalling is about. It's not about the aesthetics. It's about simplifying one's life and creating systems that aid in that process.
Habit trackers, monthly spreads, future logs, trackers for sleep, meals and study - you do you. You make what you want to make. There's plenty of stuff on the internet that steers you into believing that it has to be pretty.
It doesn't.

it has been a hot few days since I last posted but I would like to let y’all know that I hate physics
The Hustle never stops! 👩🏻💻 I don’t know how my energy levels will be in three months time, but for now I’m feeling pretty energetic and full of purpose, so I’ve decided I’m going to take each day as it comes and worry about tomorrow, well, tomorrow ✨ That’s one of the things that helps me stay positive through intense periods of working, “we have a goal for today, and we’re going to tackle that today”. ☕️ Oh, and coffee is another little booster! 🤭

Large Projects
There isn’t really a whole lot to say about large projects because every project is different, but… here are some tips that I find useful.
Start as soon as you get it
Make a plan before you start on the actual work. Figure out what you’re going to say/research before you research/say it
Break it up into small chunks and do a little every day
Take this as an opportunity to have fun! usually projects embrace your creative side, so… get creative!

how to learn a language when duolingo isn't cutting it
I know sometimes we try to learn a language through these fancy programs and games, but here are some other activities and ideas if you feel like you're stuck
Use a dictionary. Not an online one, a paper copy. The bigger the better. It helps you think of the grammar (e.g. conjugations) so it's not just available at the touch of a screen. (if you really can't find a word in the dictionary, thencheck online).
Read books and articles and look up and write down every word you don't know. Then, when you've looked up the words, read over it again, checking your new vocab list when you come across the words you don't know. You can make these words into flashcards, but you don't have to. Eventually, you'll have a pretty solid base on common words because of this.
Translate with only your dictionary and your brain. Similar to number one, but treat the translating like an exercise. If you're translating into your target language (or even into your native language) get a native speaker to check it over.
As for what you should translate, go for passages of articles and books, or songs. Preferably what you like or find interesting, but go for some slightly boring stuff as well for variety.
Drill verb conjugations with flashcards, especially irregulars.
Listen to music in the language and sing along to the lyrics. This really helps if the writing system is different to your native language's, but it also helps reading speed regardless. The more words you know, the faster you'll become, usually.
study tip
study off of old exams. learn how your teacher/professor makes the tests. understand the ways the questions are phrased, what information is usually asked. compare the text book to the test! are questions being phrased word for word? what parts of the textbook are being used? are you seeing what you have in your notes on the test? i’m dumb as a rock but i know and understand how each test works, and that is why i succeed. study smarter, not harder.
11.7.19 Thats me on the left! It's been a week since I moved out of my house in Bristol, and in two weeks I'm graduating. I'll post the picture! I'm kind of working up to writing about what I got and how I feel about it, so that will be up soon.
