The new genshin event trailer promo image was a kaejean sleeper activation phrase to me you have to go see it /lh
“Lionfang’s radiant onslaught” I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE
KAEYA'S event being the one where you summon JEAN as a support character........ really makes you think 🤔
I am too shy to get out anon but you’re my favorite artist like overall not just in the genshin fandom, your artsyle is kinda of my goals (not that i would copy you you just inspire me a lot ❣️)
this is so embarrassing for me bc i actually read this ask when you first sent it to me months ago but i just totally forgot to answer it until now.... i'm so sorry i hope you still see this reply!!! 😭
i'm so flattered that you think so 🥺💖 i'm not too fussed about people "copying" or taking aspects of my art style that they like and incorporating it into their own art. that is the beauty of sharing and being inspired by someone i think <3
something that i think about a lot is how one time i saw someone describe someone's art style as their unique "shorthand" for how they interpret the world. if you really vibe with the way someone draws a line, how they draw a hand, what aspects they give emphasis to, etc., i think it's only natural to want to emulate it in your own art. shrugs. idk just some food for thought.
May I ask if you have any advice on what canvas sizes to use? I'm always a little confused about that depending on whether I'm drawing a character, a half-body, or more detailed drawings with a landscape.
this is probably not the answer that you were expecting but all of the art that i post online is actually just a smaller drawing done on a big canvas that i screenshot and then post 😭 this is bc when you post art online, you want to post a low resolution version for general viewing purposes and keep the high resolution image for yourself/for print. the reason for this is just so in the case someone were to steal your art and repost or sell prints of it, it would not be as high quality.
having an exact canvas size doesn't really matter too much unless you are aiming to do prints of your artwork (i will explain this more later) — therefore, honestly, you could just get away with drawing on a big canvas, and then cropping down to your desired size. if you would prefer to do it a different way, i'd highly reccommend doing thumbnails. this is also the advice that i would strongly urge you to try for when you're planning out big illustrations and/or drawings for print. how do you do thumbnails? draw out a bunch of small boxes/rectangles in your desired aspect ratio (16:9, 4:3, 1:1, letter, tabloid, A1, B1, etc., etc.) and loosely sketch out the composition of your drawing within that box. do not be too detailed with this. when you land on a sketch that matches your vision, simply recreate the sketch on the actual sized canvas or duplicate and enlarge to draw over your initial sketch.
the average resolution for web is 72 dpi (dots per inch), however when you're doing art for print, it is reccommended that you use 300 dpi. additionally, when doing art for print, please allow for "bleed" (generally 3mm or 1/8 in.) around the edges. what this means is to extend your art beyond the edges of the final print size. this is to prevent white edges when the printer cuts out your prints. there are actually options within photoshop and CSP (all other art programs too i would assume) when you create a new canvas to accomodate for bleed, so i would reccommend looking that up for yourself! also make sure that you do not have any important elements or text near the borders of your art for this very same reason.
best of luck to you <3 thank you for asking!
acting grand ████
Hi!!! I wanted to tell you that your art brings crazy amount of comfort I really only go on Tumblr to look at artworks and you're one of the artists I look forward to checking in on :))) thank you so much for doing what you do and I hope you remember you have supporters who root for you!!! 💙
omg this is such a kind message 🥺 thank you so much for taking the time to send this to me ❤️
i feel bad that there hasn't been much art for you to catch up on since i've been in a bit of an art rut lately 😭 but the next time i post art i will think very fondly of you!!!!!
your lineart game is insaneeee✨✨ wahhh may i just ask what brushes do you use?
i've elaborated a little bit on twitter on the brushes i've used in past, though they are pretty old posts, so i'll link them!
though if you're referring to the venti/vennessa drawings i've done then this is the brush i used:
these are my old photoshop brushes that i used to use:
brush 1 2 3 4
and here are some other csp brushes that i use a lot:

happy new yuri 🧧
I love your art it's so pretty
thank you so much 🥺💖
you're the apple of my eye 🍏🍎
Mimii couldn’t ask you before twitter was gone here :( so if you see my ask i wanted to know your thoughts on the little prince book? :3 was thinking abt that bc of your kaejean art with this theme, it’s my dad fav book and it was one of the first books i read as a kid.
first of all, I'M SO SAD MY BRAZILIAN FOLLOWERS CAN'T SEE MY TWEETS ANYMORE 😭😭😭 I'LL MISS YOU DEARLY.....
onto the actual question, the little prince is one of my favorite books and it is so dear to my heart... when my younger cousin graduated i actually bought her a hard copy of the little prince as well as a copy of oh, the places you'll go! by dr seuss + wrote a handwritten letter on the inside cover <3 these books really are just such a great reminder about the joy and simplicity of life, the wonders and wisdom of childhood, etc etc. but the fox metaphor in the little prince is the one part of the book that stood out the most to me. i think about it a lot in relationships, fictional or otherwise.
clorinde and wriothesley's concept designs just for fun
Hi idk if you ever go on here but Twitter confuses and scares me . I saw you retweeted some art of Sethos, and I really like that guy and I also think ur opinions on stuff are really interesting, so I wanted to see if you'd said anything specific about him. However, Twitter confuses and scares me, and I scrolled through some of ur tweets and realized that i'd only made it to June 30th and did not have the mental fortitude to keep going. All that to say, if you have any particular opinions on Sethos I would like to read them here on Tumblr. Obviously ignore this whole thing if you just don't want to respond , and sorry that this is weird
hello there! first of all, i don't think this is a weird ask at all. there is nothing wrong with asking questions so please don't apologize :)
secondly, i really like sethos – a lot! i feel like i don't talk very much about cyno but he is, in fact, one of my favorite characters from genshin. the opportunity to learn more about cyno's backstory and the fact that he gained a new narrative FOIL really excited me. juxtaposing the physical and personality differences between both of them (sethos with his green eyes/brown hair/inviting smile/sociability vs cyno with his red eyes/white hair/resting bitch face/social awkwardness) really highlights their character traits, i feel.
one of the things that drew me in lot about sethos (and this may be a tired comparison so apologies in advance) is that he reminds me a lot of claude from fe3h. not just the physical similarities or the fact that he's an archer, but it was mostly his sense of curiosity and his disposition towards other people. the lines he says, i can see coming from claude's mouth. he gives off a strong sense of intelligence and cleverness.
but honestly that's really as far as i can do for (admittedly very surface-level) analysis for sethos! i haven't played cyno's second story quest yet so i don't know anything regarding the temple of silence plotline or what role sethos plays in it other than what the version update trailer teased. i know that sethos is a reference to the egyptian god, set, and he juxtaposes with cyno, a reference to anubis. i know that set is the god of disorder, violence, foreigners (out of many things) and one of the main stories he is known for is how he usurped his brother – so i have my guesses as to how the genshin storyline goes. however, obviously, my knowledge of egyptian mythology is very shallow so i don't want to make too deep of an analysis unless i really know what i'm talking about haha
anyways, i'm glad that you find my opinions interesting and that you at least tried to scroll through my twitter LMAO i do check tumblr semi-often bc i do still like reading the tags people read on my posts. i still find tumblr's askbox system and archiving system by far the best out of the "big" social media platforms these days but i've gotten really accustomed to just saying out inconsequential thoughts on twitter and rambling out analysis threads on there. they do get lost very easily though so alas. once i do finally finish cyno's story quest, i promise i'll come back to this post and share my thoughts on sethos, just for you anon <3
