What an amazing movie. An original International one sheet movie poster from 1990 for Martin Scorsese's incredible gangster crime thriller "Goodfellas", based on the 1985 non-fiction story by Nicholas Pileggi, Wiseguy: Life in a Mafia Family. Henry Hill was a career criminal, beginning at eleven as a gopher for gangster Paul Vario. Arrested at age fifteen, he refused to grass and won the respect of his gangland superiors. Graduating through the criminal ranks, in 1978 be masterminded a major theft at John F. Kennedy airport, before being arrested for heroine tracking. Facing a long-sentence and with a price on his head, he turned informant and entered the witness protection programme. Scorsese's masterpiece tells Hill's story. Starring Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta, Joe Pesci, Lorraine Bracco and Paul Sorvino, it would be nominated for six Academy Awards, with Pesci winning for Best Supporting Actor. In 2000 it was added to the U.S. National Film Register for being "... culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant." Frequently imitated. Never bettered. This is an incredible movie. This iconic movie poster was issued folded and has remained so. It was produced in the United States for use in English speaking markets and so is known as an 'International' one sheet poster. What a poster! An original Italian 'Four-Fogli' movie poster from a 1966 release of Merian C. Cooper and Ernest B. Schoedsack's classic 1933 horror thriller "King Kong" starring Fay Wray, Robert Armstrong, Bruce Cabot, Frank Reicher and Sam Hardy. Based on a story developed by English writer Edgar Wallace (and originally titled The Beast), this movie classic sees a team of film-makers travelling to the uncharted Skull Island, unbeknown to them, the last bastion of dinosaurs and giant creatures. When their leading lady is captured by locals and offered to a giant ape, can they possibly survive? Perhaps the ape's own humanity will save them... Even if the humans act beastly. This astonishing poster, with amazing artwork by movie poster legend Renato Casaro, was produced for a 1966 Italian release of the movie. Originally issued folded, it was at some point professionally linen-backed (a conservation technique that stabilises and protects the poster) and now looks absolutely amazing. It will now form the centre-piece of an incredibly stylish home.
