Personal Project Proposals
http://pop-up-book.tumblr.com/
This is our final presentation and a show how our project looks like on screen and how it reacts to buttons.
Finished everything today. Added all the buttons. They all kind of work, kind of not. Sound's a bit messed up. After pushing the button and playing other animation it doesn't get back to the main one, witch should be looping all the time but overall I'm happy. This program is much harder than Isadora. All of our team members were not professionals in flash, so considering all these parts, we made it and we should be happy.
Final submission, final work. I am pretty happy with this, like the size. With all mistakes fixed ant three slots attended they are finally finished. Looks like my little zoo.
Here are my final lasercut project glyphs in progress. Some parts came out so thin, that had to go home and take them out with thongs, so it won't break or snap. I'm pretty proud that I've managed to achieve something very small and still not break it.
Hooking up first button. It worked, it responded but we encountered some difficulties. The sound's all messed up. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Plug number 1 didn't work. At least we connected it and it responded.
The last and the worst shot video. Because we had cars constantly passing by, we had to take pictures for this video in couple of times, so you can clearly see where we stopped and where we had to start again. If we had more time, I would preferred if we made it again. But it fits with out kitsch theme.
This is probably the most difficult animation of all. Many illustrations involved. We have a hand in the frame, witch was an unfortunate accident and it looks rubbish. But in some way it works. It looks funny.
The animation with dog, witch chased down Jenny. Again, I found an appropriate sound an put it on the video.
This is the first and main animation, that's suppose to loop all the time. When well plug the buttons and press them other animation should appear. After other animation is over, this one should get back on to loop again. Although I didn't put the pictures together to make the video, I found the sound and put on the animation.
Poor Jenny gets pooped on by seagulls. It was very difficult to find the sound for this one. Seems like every seagull sound has to have a sea sound on the side.
I finished cows and understood it's not enough to show my idea and to call it project. So I developed my idea, what else could be random, image and be a trademark. I did several of animals, and traced the scans with pen tool in Adobe illustrator. I think it looks kind of unique just because it's hand drawn illustrations. Hope there will be no problem with these ones. Tried not to overlook anything. Made it really carefully.
These are all original illustrations, which I traced using pen tool in Illustrator.
Picture day. We prepared small illustrations for this one. I did the dog one. Thought that the sausage dog is funny idea, because they're ridiculous. Anyways, I was the camera man and director. It was big fun, because we had people passing by and cars were in our way all the time, we had to wait for a perfect moment. Jenny have sacrificed herself and laid down on the street. We took about 2 hours. My hands were frozen, but it was all worth it.
This is how they look in Corel Draw. Fixed all final mistakes. Speech bubble should not cut off. Also made the tail thicker. Just need to see how my name looks when it's cut out, is it working or not... And seems like that's all. Booked a slot for November 18th and will try to cut them bigger.
First cut of the project. Lucky accident was that I didn't take the sticker off, so the cow came out blue. Kind of like it this way better, that the clear one. Next time will be on 18th of November, because there was some mistakes I didn't have enough time to fix... One of them is the tail, which is way too thin, it keeps snapping off. Also, I forgot to delete the red line in one place where it shouldn't be. It happens even if you try to make it perfect, it's so easy to overlook something...
Working on lasercut.
