Soulmates that had promised themselves to each other, their love inspired people to write stories about them. Even after Wemmbu's death, their love story gets passed down from generation to generation.
A legend of two lovers that sparked multiple adaptations (movies, series, musicals, etc...).
Arachnid goes to every play and musical adaptation of their tale, always in the VIP seat, hidden away from the curious gazes of the humans below him.
It's been so long since his beloved's passing that Arachnid was slowly forgetting his name and voice.
Every version of the songs, every spoken dialogue, every internal monologue -even though it was an altered version of their story- Arachnid continues to drink it all in. It was after all, one way he could commemorate his lover.
It may not be completely accurate but the essence was still there.
He misses Wemmbu.
One day, an actor bearing the same name and face as his deceased lover stepped onto the brightly lit stage.
The man had been brought in as a stand-in for another actor who had to call in sick that night.
He had reenacted their story with such passion, portraying the emotions with such accuracy that it brings an ache to Arachnid's heart. Was it truly him? How could one understand his lover so well? To channel the inner anguish and the love he once felt for Arachnid?
And to think that Arachnid would not have known about him had the original actor not called in sick...
I just woke up rn but like do we fw with Siren Jaden x Marine biologist Wemmbu?
I've written about sirenbu before but imagine siren or merman Jaden...
Sirens are slowly becoming extinct due to modernization. With all these changing environments, they're starting to lose their homes and their source of food. Plus, it's really hard to lure humans into the water with their siren song when humans have all this noise pollution going on.
So basically, marine biologist Wemmbu has been tasked with a project to observe and record findings in the Great Sea and to write a scientific paper on the environment changes throughout the years as well as figure out ways on how his paper could help with environmental sustainability.
So in the midst of all his research (maybe we could have Wemmy set up a lab nearby? A tent with some equipment? I'm not quite sure what it was called again) he stumbles upon siren Jaden, who was injured and slightly malnourished.
Intrigued by the new specimen that has gone unrecorded, he takes it upon himself to learn more about this strange creature. Wemmbu nurses the siren back to health, uncaring of the other's distrustful nature or the fact that Jaden wanted to eat him. All Wemmbu cared about was satiating his curiosity.
Analyzing the DNA, asking about migration patterns, his impact on the marine life in the Great Sea. Wemmbu even asked if there were ways for sirens to become a vital part of the sea's ecosystem.
Eventually worn down by Wemmbu's passionate tirade on marine life forms, Jaden starts helping Wemmbu by explaining about certain plants and animals that exist deeper in the Great Sea. He even starts bringing back rare seashells and exotic plants because he likes the way Wemmbu visibly lights up when there's new discoveries.
He starts courting Wemmbu (even though he knows Wemmbu isn't aware of their traditions).
He couldn't help but want to observe Wemmbu in turn, waiting for the day the human realizes that the two of them were basically married at this point since Wemmbu unknowingly reciprocated in the courtship.

Head empty, all I can think about is how I can make Arachbu even more toxic by adding problematic age gap (both are still adults ofc, no underaged shii going on) into the mix. We already have an unhealthy power gap -since Arachnid is of a higher ranking than Wemmy- and the fact that he's holding Egg hostage. What's one more trope to make it even spicier.
It'll be so fun to imagine this wildcard of an idol doing scandalous or downright hilarious bits just to grab the attention of a certain paparazzi.
Arachnid tries to just do his job, you know, take pictures that would sell well on the internet, stalk Wemmbu and grab on any opportunity to ruin Wemmy's reputation.
But along the way, he starts to become obsessed with Wems.
(Think sasaengs and kpop idols..)
And Wemmbu encourages that obsession because he revels in the attention.

I think jadenbu is FOREVERRRRR!! and flamebu is like that relationship that is on and off constantly.
I love seeing flame get cucked by wemmbu giggling and laughing and flirting with Jaden while flame is seething watching, Jaden stole lomedys mace, “betrayed” him, AND now stole his girl. Fml Jaden is truly a pirate.

Arachbu but it's like those Isekai romantasy manhwas.
Arachnid transmigrated as the evil fiance to the typical cold duke of the North. He knows the story, the plot, the cliches in the manhwa. Fiance changes their personality (because being evil is gonna lead to their death, like, okay?) and the cold duke slowly starts to notice how different they've become and starts falling for the oblivious, naive fiance.
BLAH!!
Who the hell wants that?
Arachnid sure as hell isn't gonna change himself just to win the heart of some cold, unfeeling duke.
No.
Instead, he's gonna become even worse than the original fiance. No petty arguments or malicious pranks on the female lead, he has grander plans than that. He's gonna become the sole ruler of this dukedom, he'll kill Wemmbu (I forgot to mention he's the duke here LMAO) and take over his resources and political power and live a life of debauchery and luxury!
It backfires somehow along the way because Wemmbu is infinitely more attracted to Arachnid's ruthless and conniving personality. Preferring that Arachnid takes control because all he wants to do is lay back and be a slacker.
You know what would be fun? Jaden offering Wemmbu to stay with him at his pirate civilization after killing arachnid, they live their happy peaceful life together, Egg can fish as much as he wants with yungy, jadenbu will thrive and LIVE but I highly doubt it since there's so many deathflags being raised. But oh well, Pirate king Jaden lives in bliss with his beloved dragon while others can be in their doom and despair arc tqvm.

Wemmbu fully broken, finally cracking under the pressure, his mind unravelling from all the stress and situations he's been put under so now he's fully under Arachnid's control.
He only responds to Arachnid's orders.
He can't function at all or he's full on dissociating if Arachnid isn't there to tell him what to do.
Arachnid enjoys the power trip as well.
It makes him feel like he's actually someone important.
He lives for the praises, the subservience Wemmbu shows. He revels in the fact that he's now the only person in Wemmbu's orbit. It gives him that rush of adrenaline, of excitement. He feels high off of Wemmbu's devotion.
Sooner or later, they can't live without each other feeding into that unhealthy mindset.
Jadenbu and their very enthusiastic third Yungi and their bitter ex Flame I loved the new video so much Wemmbu is genuinely in pure psychological trenches but it is okay because she cannot stop collecting new boyfriends and if she collects enough of them her mental state might improve

Modern AU where Arachnid and Wemmbu are dating (they're totally healthy here!).
Can you guys tell that I love otome games? It's probably super obvious.
But basically, Wemmbu plays an otome game similar to Love and Deepspace and there's a character in the game that looks and sounds almost the same as Arachnid.
I like to think that the character in the game is like super mean to the MC and is very manipulative which is the exact opposite of how Modern AU Arachnid would act.
Wemmbu is super giddy and always excited to share with him about all the cruel (but hot) things the game character does. Arachnid gets jealous of that game version of him.
It makes him feel a little insecure that maybe Wemmbu preferred that other version of him. But each time without fail, Wemmbu would always reassure Arachnid that he loves him and would always choose his sweet boyfriend any day.

Both being personifications of death/death gods. Reaping souls/guiding the dead to the afterlife. One harvests souls with grace, one announces your name leading to instant death. I'm not sure where I'm going with this tbh. It was just a little thought bubble...
Edit: I think I managed to articulate my thoughts? I'm not quite sure but I'm writing this down without actually checking for mistakes so forgive me if I get facts wrong.
The way they reap souls are kinda on brand for their characters?
Grim reapers harvest souls with their scythe and all sure, but they cleanly sever the soul from the mortal bodies. It's similar to how everyone always talks about how Wemmbu's orbital cannons can instantly one shot a player. (Where am I going with this..)
Dullahans shout out your name and claim your soul and if you try to escape, they'll hunt you down for the rest of your life (This is either correct or Google has lied to my face) which is slightly similar to how Flame was acting during Wemmbu's invis arc. He was determined to hunt the invisible knight no matter what it takes, by any means necessary.
Plus, Flame's blindfold is kinda why I was thinking about his whole Dullahan thing. Headless.. no sight.. (curse you ADHD brain idk what I'm talking about. My train of thought probably didn't make sense omg I need to stick with just Arachbu and Jadenbu)
