i am currently a quilava in a human body. the situation could change at any moment. a lot of people think its a bit, it's not. no i don't know how this keeps happening.

i've recently ended up in kalos again, i've been staying at hotel z in lumiose (stop by if you need a place to stay, my friends would really appreciate it).

I'll be honest. Aside from having the training and catching of legendary pokémon illegal or locking them away, my biggest priorities are ghost types and psychic types.

Ghost types are the pokémon you usually hear doing severe harm to humans, and psychic types too - they can read our minds and control us at will.

Why are these things allowed to exist?? ans be trained?? is everyone else just blissfully ignorant??

Assuming this is a genuine, well-intentioned inquiry, I am going to respond to it to the best of my ability:

Ghost type pokémon are the types you usually hear about doing severe harm to humans, this is true. However, most of this tends to be greatly sensationalized. It is not the sole goal of every ghost type to harm humans. Most of the greatly stigmatized ghost pokémon are ones that are said to "steal" human spirits. These are, in reality, ferrying the spirits of humans to the afterlife after they have already died, which is a beyond crucial thing. Those who do "feed" or sustain themselves off of human spirit in some way typically do so by absorbing a small amount of "soul energy" at once, with long intervals between. Several other ghost types are simply ghosts themselves.

In all of these categories, ghost types going rogue and using their abilities to kill human beings is not as common as the news would have you believe. Ghost types are no more inherently malicious than any other pokémon. I have some authority to speak on this, as I have been working with ghost types for nearly my entire life and I am not dead yet, nor have the ghost pokémon in my care harmed another person.

Psychic types, admittedly, I do not have as much expertise in. However, I don't think they're as powerful as all that. While it's true that psychic-types can sometimes pick up on thoughts or feelings, or control a person's actions to a degree, it's not quite as extreme as just being able to control anybody completely at any time. And the ones which are capable of this are much more uncommon.

It's also true that a trainer with ill intentions could use a ghost or psychic type for nefarious purposes (though, I would add that there is an increasing number of places implementing regulations for pokémon who do have outright mind control abilities, such as malamar). However, this inherent danger is true of any other pokémon type, as well. A jolteon could used for electrical torture just as easily as an alakazam could be used to inflict psychic distress. I could be killed just as easily by a charmeleon's flamethrower as by a dusknoir's shadow ball. This applies to wild pokémon, as well. Any pokémon can get defensive or aggressive and wind up hurting someone, ghost or water or psychic or bug or flying or anything in-between.

I could say more, I'm sure, but I think I've gone on long enough. I'm told I have a tendency to ramble on. Either way, I hope this is at least some food for thought! Have a good one!
