Just finished a commission for my very good friend. He's decided to collect interpretations of this old man sailor, originally painted by Harry Haerendel. It's said to be of a man named Dorus Rijkers, a dutch sea rescuer who was honored for saving more than 500 people at sea. I had a lot of fun and freedom painting this, and am proud of what I learned while working on it.
