Fitness and nutrition have changed my life. A few years ago I was 40 lbs heavier, had no energy, couldn't sleep well, drank too much and was just unhappy overall. I was unemployed at the time and didn't like sitting on my butt all the time, so I joined a gym. I started out slowly with a little cardio and weight lifting here and there. After a couple months, I started to notice a plateu with my weight loss, so I decided to take one of the group fitness classes. I fell in love with the first step class and never looked back. I began taking all the classes, including weight lifting, step, cycle, yoga, and pilates. I decided to change my eating patterns to match my healthy exercise routines. I cut out creamy dressings, fast food, soda, alcohol and a lot of processed foods. This is where my body started to really change. I had more lean muscle, less fat and the lbs were falling off. I am now down 4 dress sizes and am in the best shape of my life. I wake up every day bright and early, with a positive outlook on life. I still have several fitness goals I am on a direct path to achieve. I am a stylist apprentice at Designers Edge in Seagull Square. I love love love hair and beauty. I should have gone to beauty school right after high school, but decided to take the college route instead. As luck would have it, an amazing opportunity came my way and I could not pass it up. I have learned so much already and continue to learn everyday. I hope to be one of the best stylists on the Eastern Shore one day. Sadly I had to cut back on the personal training due to being at the salon 40+ hours a week, but I still enjoy working out and eating well. I think it's important to look and fee good :)
Another modification to my fav meal to keep things fresh and tasty! Made my omelette with 2 eggs and 1/4 cup canned coconut milk and then filled with 2 oz sautéed mushrooms and 2 oz fried prosciutto. Paired with 4 oz avocado, leftover air fried radishes (oh you thought they were potatoes didn’t you? Hehehehe) and fried pumpkin bread. Holy cow this was superb! Totally doing a repeat for lunch and then a salad for dinner when I’m working tonight. Don’t stress if January wasn’t the “fit, healthy” month you hoped it would be. I have tweaked all 3 recipes to be low carb, gluten free, unsweetened, Paleo, Keto and Whole 30 approved, yet still delicious!!! I’ve posted the recipes several times on my social media.
