“Hey, you about ready to head out?” Ace called as he spotted his girlfriend, glancing at the time as he did so. He hoped he got her shift right.
The blonde smiled as she looked up to see Ace, nodding in response to his question. “I’m done. Where are we headed?”
Ashley bit her lip, looking down at her handiwork before placing another pin in the other Mermaid’s hair. “You’re all set.”

"I’m listening." Using the mirror in front of her to look back at the person standing a few feet away. She’d just come from from second appointment that day, her desire for another dollar outweighing whatever else people thought should have been on her mind when it came to the subject. "Okay then…" Ashley quieted down, doing her best to brush off the perceived snippy tone directed towards her.
