Winter Meridian Hill Park Engagement Session with Dinosaurs
Yeah. I said dinosaurs. This was totally unplanned, but totally appreciated. It’s not everyday you run into ferocious t-rex dinos in Washington, DC.

Winter Meridian Hill Park Engagement Session with Dinosaurs
Yeah. I said dinosaurs. This was totally unplanned, but totally appreciated. It’s not everyday you run into ferocious t-rex dinos in Washington, DC.
A couple months ago I shared a story from the @BaltimoreSun about my awesome kind-hearted mother that continued to work on Alfred Angelo wedding dresses after their stores closed, despite not getting paid. During the chaos of trying to help my mom get organized, I received an email from Hudsun Media to my photo business email address. I was a little thrown off because: A) How did they find me, and/or my photography email address? (the internet I’m sure!) B) Who was Chris? (the email started off with “Hi Chris”) 😂😂😂 I sat on the email for a few days, and responded by saying that I didn’t know how to respond.😂 After that, everything happened so fast! ----- My mom is featured on @ReturningTheFavorShow with @Mikerowe I cannot thank #mikerow and everyone at @hudsunmedia enough. The excitement kept my Mom going and her spirits high when she was nearly drowning in dresses. I’ve always been proud my mother and her resilience, and seeing her recognized for her hard work is something I’ll never forget. #thankyou from the bottom of my heart. Watch the show on Facebook to see her story! www.facebook.com/ReturningTheFavor #positivevibes #Returningthefavor #Ilovemymomma #mommasgirl (at Manor Hill Brewing)
Harley-Davidson Engagement Session
I’ve known liz for about 6ish years (more? less?) and there are two things that you figure out about her pretty quick: 1) She loves anything and everything Disney and 2) She loves Harley-Davidsons.
We’d been planning this session off and on for months and we knew that we had to take photos with her bike. A few days before the session we finally decided on a location. I drove to Thurmont and met Liz and Kevin on their bikes only to find the chosen location CLOSED! I was so bummed, but Kevin had the best backup plan and I’m so happy with the results.
Here are a few of my favs.
Family Session: Thanksgiving Farms, Adamstown MD
This winter I got to participate in a silent auction benefiting the Friends of the Brunswick Library. We’ve had a lot of warm and abnormal weather this winter, and the winner of the family session cashed in on a beautiful day!
Thank you to our friends at Thanksgiving Farms in Adamstown, MD, for allowing us to capture these moments.
Holly & Ryan: Grey Rock Mansion Wedding
Grey Rock Mansion Wedding, Pikesville, Maryland
My first time visiting Grey Rock Mansion was about 6 years ago. As a side job, I used to work with an event decorating company. Grey Rock Mansion stood out then, and I was excited to finally have the opportunity to shoot there. It’s nestled within a little neighborhood but it boasts tons of character.
Here are a few of my favs
Melynda & John: Glen Ellen Farm
Glen Ellen Farm: Ijamsville, Maryland
Glen Ellen Farm is located just outside of Frederick, MD. When I first met Melynda and John they were so excited to have found such a great venue. I was equally excited that this loving couple wanted me to photograph their special day. These are a few of my favorite photos from their wedding.
Venue: Glen Ellen Farm
Cake: Karen Rodkey Caterer: PIGS BBQ Band: The Chance Club MUA/Hair: New York, New York Salon
Monique & J.R: Severna Park, MD
I was looking forward to Monique and J.R’s wedding the moment we met up for engagement photos. These two are such great people with infectious smiles. These are a few of my favorite photos!
Melissa + Rob: Kent Island Wedding
Kent Island, Maryland, is the largest island in the Chesapeake Bay. Melissa and Rob call this wonderful community home. Their wedding was stunning and magical---but I may be a little biased since I have a ‘thing’ for dark venues ;)
In this case, the only cover this venue had was the sky. I’m a tad obsessed with this wedding, so I promised myself I wouldn’t overdo this post. Enjoy! :)
Valerie + John: Union Mills Homestead
Valerie and John were married at Union Mills Homestead in Westminster, Maryland in a ceremony full of tears and laughter. This was my first time being at Union Mills Homestead in years and I truly forgot how beautiful it is! These are a few of my favorite photos.
Sugarloaf Mountain Engagement Session
Remember at the end of September/early October when it rained? I’m not talking about normal Maryland rain—I am talking about constant downpour that lasted for a week. The rain caused some flooding in areas of Maryland. A muddy and messy session seemed inevitable (so I thought.)
The couple chose Sugarloaf Mountain in Dickerson, MD with mobility in mind and I could not have been more pleased with the location. The sun came out only hours before the shoot and the evening concluded with a gorgeous sunset. The couple was so great to work with and I am looking forward to their wedding at the Belmont Country Club in Virginia.
Sarah + Zac: Cloverdale Barn
They say rain on your wedding day is good luck. If that’s the case, this couple is by far the luckiest couple I’ve ever met. It rained nearly all day at Cloverdale Farm in Winchester, VA, but that didn’t stop this bride and groom from having a fun and beautiful rustic wedding.
Chris + Chrissy: Springfield Manor Winery & Distillery
If you asked me what Ashley Jayde Photography could improve on, my answer would be blog posts, Facebook posts, or any sort of advertisement/portfolio related content. Why? I don’t post enough. I pretty much dedicate my time to things I enjoy the most—taking and editing photos. In an effort to motivate myself to blog more, I decided to do something a little different this time. This blog will pay tribute to my love of black & white photography. A lot of what I know about photography can be traced back to Mr.C’s class 15 years ago when I learned how to shoot and develop black and while film.
Chris & Chrissy’s wedding at Springfield Manor was perfect for a black and white post. It was so elegant. The lighting was perfect. Overall, the day was amazing. I’m so happy I had the opportunity to photograph their wedding.
EDIT: Now that I’ve amused myself, here are a few color images in no particular order :)
Cody + Ricky: Backyard Wedding
Cody & Ricky got married in the yard that Cody grew up playing in, just like her sisters that married before her. The original house that the “w” family lived in was destroyed by a fire a few years back. Cody and Ricky’s wedding was the first to take place with the new family home in it’s final stages of completion. The house served as a gorgeous backdrop to their wedding as both families had a fun-filled night in Dickerson, Maryland!
Megan + David: Ceresville Mansion
Ceresville Mansion is located near my neck-of-the-woods in Frederick Maryland. If you had to force me to describe Ceresville Mansion in only 3 words I’d say: elegant, sophisticated, and inspiring. Megan’s and David’s wedding was nothing short of all those things.
Just look at this dress!
And all the details!
Everything about this wedding felt as if it was pulled out of romantic novel.
Story book wedding!
Natalie + Justin: Whitetail Ski Resort Wedding
Natalie and Justin got married on a hot April day at Whitetail Ski Resort. I’ve lived in Maryland all my life and you can’t go through winter without hearing a Whitetail Ski Resort ad on the radio. I’m not much of a skier so I’ve never been. I was pleasantly surprised to see how close it is to home and how gorgeous a ski resort can be in the Spring!
In September 2015, I had the pleasure of taking Natalie’s and Justin’s engagement photos in Harper’s Ferry, WV.
They were such a fun couple to work with and I knew their wedding wouldn’t be anything less than a party!
