I finally got around to watching 9x13 and I have to say, I 100% agree with Sam. I don't think Sam is an asshole, as I've seen people say, for saying that he wouldn't do the same thing Dean did if the roles were reversed. If Dean had completely accepted the fact that he was going to die, and was ready to go, Sam would not be selfish enough to trick him into staying alive because he was afraid of being alone.

Sam would do anything for his brother. I still believe that. If Dean wanted to live, Sam would do whatever was in his power to keep him alive. Sam has actually grown up and matured since the previous seasons, whereas Dean is still afraid of being left alone. He's always felt like Sam needed him to be that knight in shining armor, when it was actually the other way around.

Sam has been a damsel in distress this whole season, and I'm glad that he's finally standing up to his brother. Dean needs to realize that Sam isn't just an extension of himself. Sam is his own person.
