"You don’t believe me. Or you’re trying your best to not believe me." he said, tilting his head. "You want me to show it to you?"
"I would believe you if what you were saying were reasonable, but I suppose it would be alright if you didn't show me."
Oh, it is? I swear I read it on this website where scientists did experiments with rings and flashes or something like that.Â
There have been experiments? Oh, then it must be true. I believe there have never been positive experiments for incorrect hypotheses.
"T-t-too mu-much  bad th-things."
"I suppose everything will get better soon."

Yuri couldn’t believe he was walking through the main doors of an asylum, bags already in his designated room. His room. The reality was finally setting in, but he wasn’t sure whether to feel happy or sad. One one hand, he would be cooped up behind these brick walls for years, but on the other, he was free from his parents and the constant abuse.
Shaking the thoughts from his mind, the new patient took in his surroundings, blue eyes guarded as he watched several patients wander past, paying him no attention. Yuri sucked in a breath to squelch his nerves as he took a step into the main hall, tugging up his collar around his neck as he did so— even if he wanted to run, he wouldn’t dare let it show, instead faking confidence in hopes it would work.
"Lets get this shit over with"
Ashly was sitting on top of a counter, reading. This nurse's station was oft unmanned, and the hallway it was in rarely provided her with unwanted company. The book in question was boring, but at least it was a distraction. Doctor-approved reading material consisted mostly of children's books, and books they didn't approve of were hard to come upon.
The main character in the novel in question was so desperately bland that Ashly had to resist the urge to fling the book out a window. Instead, she decided against reading it and left it there, on the counter, when she went to find something to eat. She wandered into the main hallway of the asylum, and was headed to the cafeteria when she heard a familiar voice behind her.Â
It couldn't be... could it? She whipped around, trying to find where it had come from, and she caught his eye. "Yuri?"
"I don't want to see you crying either, but here we are. What's the problem?"
"A demon. Room 109? That’s a door to Hell."
"A door to Hell? This just keeps getting odder and odder. Are you sure this isn't some sort of vivid hallucination?"
Did you know we actually live about 80 milliseconds in the past, because that’s how long it takes our brain to process information? So basically, our bodies are in the present while our brains are in the past.
That is, in fact, a neurological myth. Good attempt, but you're very much wrong, darling.
"Okay, I’m with you so far. Still not completely sure why you shoved her."
"You wouldn't understand... all you must know is she was a pain in the neck."
"I’m a demon." he said, shrugging. "It’s only a lot easier and less painful when I’m full or in a hunting mode."
"You're a what? I'm sorry, I'm not quite catching on."
"Yeah, I guess that’s not the point. But that doesn’t really explain why you’re here."
"Because the girl in question was the sister of a very rich -and very boring, mind you- man my parents intended to set me up with. And I guess that made me come across as slighty unstable to him, which has managed to upset them."
"Did you?"
"It was actually a porch, and its height was greatly exaggerated. But that's no the point!"
"I’ll try my best to not hurt you then." he said, clearing his throat. Leaning forward, his whole form began to change. His eyes became black again, his skin became paler and scaly, and his finger turned to sharp talons. He spoke in a husky voice. "Convinced?"
She gasped rather loudly, her eyes wide, "How are you doing this?" Her voice trembled.
"In Hell." he said, returning his eyes back to it’s original color. "I don’t think I can find another way to prove this to you without you getting hurt."
"I'll make sure to stop by," she said, a large smile on her lips, her voice incredulous. "Try me."
"Oh jeez. Why do you check yourself in?"
"Wrong choice of words: They  were the ones who checked me in, because they believe I tossed a girl out a window."
"Okay, so tell me if this is something people with schizophrenia have." he said, staring into her eyes as his eyes turned from sparkling blue to deep black. He smiled, which looked scarier now. "Ta-da."
Ashly began to doubt herself just then, but she wouldn't let the other patient see it. "Cool contacts. Know where I can find a pair?"
"That when you die in this place, you come back into an entirely different being."
"Oh, so you have schizophrenia too? Always good to know. For future reference, I don't need you to prove the fact that you're crazy to me. I believe you."
"Oh, wow. You don’t know?"
"I don't know what?"
