Harper’s Monthly Update: 3 Months!

These last 3 months have gone by so fast… and so slow.

I feel like Harper was just born yesterday, but at the same time, when I think back to Charley being this little.. it seemed like he was already sitting by himself by now! Even though I know that isn’t true.

So! Harper Grace is now 3 months old. As of her last appointment she weighs 8 lbs 15 oz, and she’s 22 inches long. This was last month at her 2 month appointment so I’m sure she’s grown quite a bit. I know she’s definitely longer!

She’s now in size 1 diapers and she can wear 0-3 month and 3 month clothes (as well as some newborn onesies).

She’s getting pretty good at holding her head steady while doing tummy time and while being held. She’s even trying to roll from her stomach to her back!

There isn’t much else to tell since she’s still so little.. all she really does in eat, sleep, and poop!

I’m very excited for her first Christmas. But it has been a little stressful trying to decide what to get her considering she’s so little!

There was supposed to be a Christmas themed 3 month photo with this post.. but we’ve been so busy that I haven’t been able to figure out what she’s going to wear, so the picture is going to be a little late.

Weekend Fun!

This weekend was a good mix of busy and relaxing. Saturday was filled with Christmas fun, and Sunday was spent at home.

Saturday we took a trip to the “city” (we live in a very small town so we have to travel about 30 minutes to the nearest “city”). While there we visited Santa and did some Christmas shopping. 

We went to a local greenhouse that was having free pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Charley wasn’t having it.. but Harper did great!

Once we were done there we stopped and got some breakfast then did a little shopping.. I got the vast majority of my Christmas shopping done! 

Once we got home we rested for a bit then went to Lewis Lights. Which is a place here that is at a family’s home where they put up a bunch of Christmas lights. 

It’s been a family tradition for as long as I can remember. 

Sunday wasn’t very note worthy. We just cleaned house, relaxed, and wrapped presents! Charley has been a hand full all weekend for some reason. I think the terrible two’s are setting in a little early.

Teen Mom Blog

I don’t really talk about my journey of being a teen mom much on here, but it’s obviously a big part of my story. 

So! I’ve decided to start a blog geared toward teen moms. For advice and help.

Three white teenagers a few towns from me wrapped a noose around a black classmates neck and used it to throw him to the ground. I'm honestly disgusted with the state I live in. ((I know that racism is everywhere, but it's more prominent where I live))

A look at the last month; 

Charley went to Dairy Fest with my mom, stepdad, grandma, and three of my sisters. (Harper and I spent the day with her daddy and his parents). I hate that I couldn’t go because he looked like he had SO much fun, but Harper was just too little. 

Harper’s two week appointment! (She was actually three weeks because I already had an appointment for Charley that day so we just scheduled them together). She had grown half an inch and gained a whole pound! (So as far as I know, she’s 8.15 lbs). 

Co-bathing for the first time with Harper. I absolutely ADORE co-bathing, I still do it with Charley. Harper only had one bath in the baby bath before we got to get in the big tub because I was waiting until I stopped bleeding.  This was also a milk bath because she had some baby acne that got really bad because she spent the day outside. Her face, chest, shoulders, and even her scalp (!!) were covered in red bumps and blotches. (about 3 or so ounces of breast milk.. literally down the drain.. but she needed it!)

Motherhood met me young. Some may see that as a failure. I don’t. I have fully surrendered and succumbed to motherhood, letting it wash over me and smooth out all my jagged edges and shape my unruly parts. It’s healed me in ways I never knew I needed healing, and it all started with those two pink lines.

Just made my own diaper rash "cream"! Charley had a horrible rash that I just can't get rid of. (If you have any tips please let me know just in case this doesn't work) Please hold for an update on how it works

Hot mess mom or just shitty mom?  

Even though I hate that being a “hot mess mom” has kind of become cool and quirky.. like it’s the hipster of the mom world.. I can admit that I am one. 

My house is a mess, getting out of the house is a huge ordeal, I spend my entire life in Target, and rather than cleaning my messy house during my kids naptime.. you know this momma is sleeping right next to them. 

But, yesterday.. I really topped the cake. 

I locked Harper in the car! With my keys! 

I’m not actually entirely sure how it happened... we went to the dollar store to look for some temporary tattoos for my nieces birthday party (if you’re interested.. they didn’t have any). We left the store empty handed and I put Harper in the car then turned it on. I pushed the cart, with Charley in it, to the other side of the car to put him in his carseat and the door was locked.  So, I went to open the passenger door so I could unlock the other door.. and that one was locked too! 

I looked through the window to see if the other doors were locked.. and of course they were.

Luckily there was a lady on the sidewalk who asked if the doors were locked. I said yes and she told me to call someone while she called the police. I called my mom and tried to not freak out (My hands were shaking SO BAD and eventually, I cried). 

The two cashiers and a guy inside came out and tried to get the door unlocked using a screwdriver and a hanger. Then, a guy stopped and got it open with the antenna from his truck! 

And then, after getting the door open.. 20 minutes after we called.. the police showed up. He told me that if it happens again to call the station.. that they have a lock kit. Which is what we did? And he didn’t even bring the lock kit even though we told whoever answered the phone that a newborn was locked in the car? Who knows...

Introducing Harper Grace! (a month late.. oops)

She was born September 14, 2016 at 9:14 am. She weighed 7 lbs 15 oz and was 21 inches long and had and still has a head full of black hair!

She’s her daddy made over.. from the way she looks, to the way she sleeps.. even the way her hair smells (weird, I know). People are going to think I kidnapped her!

Long time no see, tumblr!

Things sure have changed since the last time I was on here. For example, Harper was born and is now a month old.

She was born on September 14th, which is my uncles birthday.. so that’s pretty cool. Hopefully, I’ll get her birth story written up and posted on my blog at some point.. but Charley is almost 2 and I’ve yet to really finish his.. so… (why do I even have a blog? I’m the worst).

Charley got his first haircut! I really want him to have long hair.. but it was kind of getting a mullet so we had to do something about it. He looks like a little boy, rather than a baby with cute little curls, now.. which is sort of bittersweet.

Now that I think about it, that’s the only thing that’s happened with us. We’re pretty boring.

I’ve come to a little bit of a stand still in my “becoming a real adult” journey. I’m still trying to figure out what I’m actually going to go to college for. I have no idea when we’re going to move, because I can’t find a single place for rent, and practically no where is hiring around me.. oh the pains of living in a small town with very few businesses. (The closest real city, that has real places to work, is 30 miles away.. so any job that I could get right now, I would pretty much just be using all my money for gas).
