pretty sure ive said this before but pining charon is suuuuch a good concept. like hermes is the only olympian who bothered to learn to talk to him, and based on dialogue seems to be his only real friend and confidante.

and then not only does his life get torn apart and lose his "job" until melinoe becomes an adult, but once the war on chronos gets serious he doesnt even get to see hermes, who is probably one of the last reliable constants he has.

so OF COURSE hes going to miss him and have a lot of feelings to re-evaluate. and thats why its probably really funny behind the scenes when they finally reunite, where hermes is almost certainly like "hey boss, man its been a while. hows it going?" while charon is on the edge of having a mental breakdown.
