Damnit, Obi-Wan. What a jerk. http://scificity.tumblr.com
I’m a messy studyer I like to hastily jot down mechanisms onto a single page. Right now I’m learning some biosynthetic pathways.

Rare Burgess Shale Burgessochaeta setigera Polychaete Worm Fossil
Phylum Annelida, Order Burgessochaetidae Geological Time: Early Cambrian, (~505 to 508 million years ago) Fossil Locality: Stephen Formation, Burgess Shale, Burgess Pass, British Columbia, Canada
This fossil annelid worm exemplifies the preservation of soft tissue old seen in a limited number the fossil sites across the world. Among these so-called Burgess Shale-type deposits, the Burgess Shale is arguably the most famous. It was discovered by the famous palaeontologist Charles Walcott in August 1909. Relatively rare, Burgessochaeta comprises less than .4% of the Burgess Shale Biota. Read more …

New Ceratopsid Dinosaur Regaliceratops Supports Convergent Evolution of Cranial Ornamentation
In the June 4 issue of Current Biology, Brown and Henderson describe a new Ceratopdid dinosaur from Alberta, Canada, Regaliceratops, for which they had an almost complete skull fossil. This dinosaur group appeared in the late Cretaceous, and their fossils are mainly known from western North America. Cladistics rendered a phylogeny from which evolutionary relationships within the Ceratopsidae family could not be fully resolved. The authors speculate that convergent evolution of horns occurred between to distinct subfamilies, but also note that there are likely many horned dinosaurs in the family tree that are yet to be discovered.

Platonic Solids by Moni
“In the first place, then, as is evident to all, fire and earth and water and air are bodies. And every sort of body possesses solidity, and every solid must necessarily be contained in planes; and every plane rectilinear figure is composed of triangles…” – Plato. Timaeus circa 360 BC.

Boron (2015) Adam Prost © Exploratorium, www.exploratorium.edu
Boron is complicated. Elusive. Tough. Created in collisions between cosmic rays and interstellar dust, pure boron may be found in meteoroids, but not naturally on Earth. And yet this relatively uncommon element is essential for plant growth
