Hi, I'm Dusky Down, but Dusky will do just fine. I'm just a (relatively) normal Ponyvillian mare, although I'm only there about half the time. I enjoy traveling across Equestria and its neighbours. I'm all about ideas and the best ones come through experience.

This is my belated submission for Day 7 of Equestria Daily’s Newbie Artist Training Grounds V - A Pony on the Beach/ A Pony Catching Rays.

Nocturne can’t properly do the pegaduck thing (due to not being a pegasus, of course), but that doesn’t change the fact that he loves to swim. And being close friends with a seapony doesn’t exactly discourage him from entering the water.

I rather like the beach… the ocean is so huge, so majestic. Nocturne and Coral are good friends as well, and spending a day with our friends is always a day well spent.

My quest is upon the road with her, and I am chasing my dreams every time my hoofs echo the same steps she’s taken. We journey on, to see the world together.

We’re geared up and ready to go. No, um, we don’t necessarily wear this kind of armor into any sort of battle. It’s just fun to dress up for things like the Crystal Faire and other big pony cons, really helps get into the spirit of the event, and great fun to share as an experience.

Well... uh, I guess it shouldn’t be any worse than when Pinkie eats a dozen cakes in a row.

I wouldn’t give her the world… because she wants to experience it on her own terms. I walk alongside her, and I experience it along with her, and in that, we both find joy.

But, if I could buy her a single gift… no matter how big, or how small… what I’d give her… would be peace.

To be able to live without worry, without having to look over her shoulder, or to fear ever again for the safety of herself or the ones she loves. I would give her freedom from her nightmares, and the chance to pursue her dreams as she saw fit. I suppose in that regard, I would give her the world.

I’m her Night Light, and so long as I can’t give her that gift with a guarantee, then I’ll do what I can everyday to stand by her side and let her know she is not alone.

So yeah, this was a thing that happened yesterday! Pardon the fact that my ring looks like a muffin…It’s a bit complicated to draw! But my Special Somepony proposed to me on our anniversary! Of course I said yes. We picked out my ring (the one above is a stand-in) and it should be done on Sunday! ^-^ Needless to say I’m a bit excited!!!

Night: Alright… but I’ll be watching you.

Dusky: No he won’t.

June 15th, two years ago today, the rest of my life began.

For her, I would walk five hundred miles, and I walk five hundred more, just to be the stallion who walked a thousand miles to fall down at her door.

Here’s to two years together, my pillar. And here’s to a thousand more, and counting.

This is my family… not all of it, it’s um… it’s a big family. But, of course Dusky means the most to me. And oh! That um… that’s our cat, Silver Lining.

We travel a lot, Dusky can get a little bit of wander lust sometimes, and I love to see anywhere so long as I’m at her side.

A pony falling

I’ve heard falling isn’t so bad if you have wings that work… or if you have somepony there to catch you. Either way, I think I shall leave the sky to the pegasi who know how to work it.

Drawn for Night Flurry and Dusky Down, who have always been there to catch each other, and me when I needed it most.

Our fates bound together, my hooves in yours, together we fall, and together we will soar.
