1000 pardons but..

As you may know i have been struggling finacially for a long time without much of a break..

Well today my internet was cut off which puts me in a dangerous spot. I had lost my financial aid for college and i used that to pay for EVEYTHING i needed for college, including internet access for my online classes as well as personal things like medication and bills.

If i do not pass this semester i will not recieve the help i desperately need… Please if its not so much to ask i could really use some help.

EMERGENCY COMMISSIONS - EDIT

As some of you have probably heard, Tinny is going through quite a bit of a financial struggle right now. Her gas/heating has been shut down for a while now, her  financial aid has been cut off, and just recently her internet has been cut off as well. Ask-blogging and Skype aside, she needs the internet to complete her coursework for this semester, since she takes some classes online. If she doesn’t pass this year, she will not be eligible for money she and her mother need.

I don’t have a lot of free time and my art may not be very good but I’m going to open up $10 commissions for fullbody flat color anything. It can be Human characters. It can be Pokemon. It can be anthro, I do not care. As long as it’s Safe For Work and I am provided references, I’ll try my damned hardest to draw something.

Art Blog

As you all may have gathered by now, I'm taking a very extended break from the community. I don't know if/when I'll be back, but I don't feel like this is a healthy and safe place for me to be right now, and I need to step away and do my own thing until I feel comfortable here again.

I need to work on my own personal projects...I think I'm going to get into drawing comics again, and I'm definitely going to be doing more illustrations with my OCs from now on instead of just drawing pokemon, pokemon, pokemon. I'm primarily a human artist, after all.

My art blog is here and this is where you can find my art from now on.

Also, as you may have seen because I keep drawing attention to it, my friends and I have opened up a role-playing forum based on the Kalos region. It's a very expansive board designed for building a community for interaction, and everyone is welcome to apply! We're already off to a great start. So you can find my writing, as well as other writers', here!

And, well, that's about it. I had a lot of fun when I first started my blogs, but the energy has died and it's replaced with too much negativity that isn't good for my health. I hope it's resolved in time and I can bring these blogs back, but we'll just have to see! For now, I'm off to bed, and my official leave from the community and my new dedication to my own personal work and characters begin when I wake up.

Jolokia exposes his neck to Ember, revealing a Magma-insignia collar wrapped tightly around it. A quick tug and claw-swipe reveals that it's quite firmly placed there, and rather unbreakable. "I guess I should've known better than to think I was immune to those greyfaces... knew sooner or later they'd hit me with something like this. Guess I'm along for the ride until this thing wears off... so, since you're the only one I'm familiar with on this whole team... while I'm here, guide me, yes?"

Blake: I don’t remember allowing anything like you to be created or let in. Where did you come from, and why are you here?

Shit, I’m so dead… Jolokia told himself, staring the brown-haired man in the face. He’s never going to sit there and believe the truth, but… Arceus, this is one time I really hate being such a bad liar! Think, damn it, think!

The male’s blue-green eyes softened their surprised gaze just a tad, as he tried to at least put on an air of confidence despite the clear uneasiness he felt. Heart racing, he decided to speak the truth, even if he knew it would likely turn out to be his final words. Even in this time of need he couldn’t bring himself to come up with a good fib, so it was time to just spill it.

"Um, well, uh.. sir…" the Skymintaur began, nervously clenching his hands into fists as he spoke in plain human-speak. "My name is Jolokia, and I’m a tauric Pokemon. Basically, I’m what you’d get if you had a human-like Pokemon from the waist up and a quadrupedal one below. Specifically, I’m a hybrid of Sky-Shaymin and Ninetales… though most just call me a Skymintaur since the Skymin DNA is far more prevalent. The tails are more just decoration and for flame control."

"And how I got here? The thing is, I honestly don’t remember anything except being back at Pinwheel Forest in Unova with my daughter… everything else is kind of a hazy blur. I did wake up in this odd underground cellar place, and I had chains strapped onto my limbs and my neck kind of stung on the left side. And I had this collar wrapped around my neck, same symbol as the one on Ember’s.”

"There was this really weird shadowy figure that claimed someone had sent out a hit on me to be delivered here, or something. All I know is, when he untied me, and after I came out of the cellar, I was right in front of the headquarters building. I don’t know where I am, I don’t know how the shadow got me here… I just… am. I’m guessing by the collar that apparently whoever kidnapped me had plans to use me, but I wasn’t able to get him to say much before he disappeared on me."

His ears lowered slightly as he finished recounting his tale. “That’s truly all I remember, sir. I don’t have any intentions of being some sort of ‘hero’ or anything like that. I’m lost, likely far away from home, confused about how I even got here, and I’m really unsure of what the hell I’m supposed to be doing. I mean, I have this collar, so I’d presume I’d somehow be of use to you… or, at least, that’s what that shadow thought when he brought me here…”

“What a story!” exclaimed Blake as he laughed. This absurd creature had come into his territory spouting nonsense, and not only had it lost all its memory of how it got here, but it seemed to be expecting some kinda of sympathy. It was lost, was it? Lost in more than one way, though Blake- even genetics had lost it somewhere along the way. He was surprised the thing could even talk, but oh well; at least its language capabilities were convenient.

  But the question was, what was there to do with such a ridiculous being? What would it be good for? It didn’t look like much of a weapon, nor did it seem to have the mental capacity for the battle field. A pacifist, by the look of its nervous posture and wide eyes. Magma, of course, had no use for pacifists; the only exception was Cyrus Rudmann, whom made up for his physical incompetence with intelligence. Blake doubted that intelligence was this…thing’s forte, however. Perhaps he should just kill it, and save the world the trouble of looking upon it.

  Was there any scientific information to be gained for studying it? Hybrids were no mystery to Blake’s scientists; they already knew how to mix a variety of creatures together and produce a living result. That this centaur-like creature was claiming to be part shaymin was somewhat interesting, though Blake really saw no purpose in pursuing the research of legendaries. Dabbling in myths was more trouble than it was worth, and Blake left that sort of work to fools in other organizations.

  But Blake certainly was not about to let this thing go. He would give it a chance to explain what it might be good for… That would also give Blake enough time to consider other possibilities. He did not like wasting resources, after all, even though this was not a resource he had wanted in the first place. Good things could come in unexpected packages, after all… Perhaps he would have to consult Rudmann, but for now, he would humor the taur.

  “So you think you may be of use to me? That’s what you say you were told?” Blake inquired. He clasped his hands behind his back and circled slowly around the creature, sizing it up and taking it all its features, trying to see what exactly he had before him. “Please enlighten me, then; what do you think you can possibly do for me? And do come up with a decent answer, and quickly- I am a busy man, after all, and I haven’t the time to waste on…whatever is it you are.

  “Convince me of your worth. If there’s nothing I can use you for, there’s no point in keeping you around, is there?” He flashed a smile, but there was nothing kind or welcoming behind it, or even a hint of happiness. ‘I don’t intend to let you go alive’, said the smile, ‘you are fighting for your life now. Convince me not to kill you’.

So why was James chosen to be a Pokemorph?

But since our research in pokemorphs was stemming into new directions, I figured it convenient that there was suddenly a viable fetus within reach to..."donate" to the experiments.I have no use for infants otherwise; I'd sooner kill them or at the very least, toss them out than have them taking up resources and space.

...and more like villains, or abusers. My scars may not be quite as visible as yours...but they are there, and their cause is humans.

Of course, my own experience is, naturally, very narrow, so I'm curious as to what others have seen and gone through. I'd like to disprove a theory of mine that has been bothering me for quite some time, though at this rate, I fear I may be on the right track...

Though, if I understand correctly, your scars are not from humans, but from wherever you came from... 

In which case... Hm... Anyway, thank you for sharing. I won't pry any farther.

Mister Blake, I assume after the Groudon/Kyogre incident, both Magma and Aqua must have gotten quite the attention. How have you managed to stay ahead of the Hoenn police force (or other ten-year olds)?

Though, before I answer your question in detail, let me correct you- the ‘Groudon incident’ never actually happened. I made sure of it. I would not allow Maxie to make such a suicidal decision and destroy my team. It was when it became most clear that he was serious about his intentions to try and control a legendary that I took it upon myself to…remove him from his position.

Whether or not Team Aqua has any intent on going after Kyogre is beyond my current knowledge… Though I do know dear old Archie has sent a certain brat to look for some sort of legend. I’d be quite surprised if we hear from him again.

Anyway… As I was saying, it’s very easy to stay ahead of your enemies when you’re simply better than them. As long as I manage their populations, they are no threat to me. I have eyes in all the walls, and when a pest gets too close, I exterminate them.

A particularly memorable case from only a few years ago was that of a foolish police officer who thought that he could infiltrate the team… Once the little rat was discovered- it didn’t take long- I let him believe he had succeeded for a while… Then I burned his house down. He and his wife are no longer with us, but it seems that stupidity is a family trait… Apparently his dirty spawn escaped, and it thinks it can exact revenge against us… -laugh-

Police officers and Aquas alike- they’re fools if they think they have a chance against me and my men. The Aquas are nearing extinction and the police will eventually learn to turn their attention to matters they can actually handle!

Blake, what's it like, owning and leading an organization?

It’s certainly a rewarding career. It’s power; it’s wealth. It’s being a giant with ants frantically swarming at your feet. I’m a puppeteer; a chess master. I hold the keys to the region, and I may do as I please. 

Ah, but power is a dangerous addiction, and once you’ve had a taste, there will never be enough to satisfy the craving that begins to boil in your core.

What do you think makes a character likable, or rather what do YOU like in a character? can be ask blog related or in general (iunno if this counts but i still wanna know bc why not)

I really love any character that is written well and has a realistic, multi-layered personality and story, but my favorites would have to be...I REALLY love a scary villain. I'm gonna toot my own horn here and use Blake as an example, because I think I did really well when writing his character and I'm not usually this proud of a character. He's outwardly charming and has a snarky sense of humor, which are generally likeable traits... but once he's got you in his grasp- usually once you're employed by him- he turns it all around and is what I would call a monster. He has no remorse or pity, and he has no qualms about hurting people (physically and mentally) and even killing people to get what he wants, even his own team members. He's not an idiot, either- he knows how to make people suffer and manipulate them into fearing him and doing what he wants them to do. He's not a super villain, though- I try to make him work the way real life villains work. I took notes in my criminology classes just for him- how abusers work, how they treat their families, how they treat others, and how it translates into crime.He's not crazy, he's not a psychopath- at most he just exhibits traits of antisocial personality disorder, but he's not ill.He has an anger problem, but it's calm. He smiles when he's mad. He always talks in a low voice and rarely raises it.  He's a calm, collected, charming, but sadistic, unrelenting, fearless, and has no regard for himself and others.I find the calm villains who do things like real life criminals absolutely terrifying, and I love to see that. I can't stand the "psychotic psychopath" types of villains who go crazy and laugh hysterically and carry a cleaver around. I based Blake on exactly what I like to see in a villain.WOW I FORGOT WHAT OTHER CHARACTER TYPE I WAS GOING TO PUT HEREso this turned into a rant about what I like most in villains I'm gomen

Blake, can you tell us a bit about yourself? Hobbies? Likes/dislikes? Aspirations for the future (aside from ruling the world, everyone knows that)?

I quite enjoy reading a novel here and there.

Other than that, the demands of my position are my only concern. “Ruling the world” is not quite how I would put it… But destroying the competition is certainly an aspiration of mine. We’ve already very nearly taken out our neighbors, whom I could hardly refer to as “rivals” any longer.
