Kenneth returned a welcoming smile to the commander as he joined her towards the crew deck. "I'd love to join you for some hot chocolate, Shepard. It's a guilty pleasure really, my nan back home made the best hot chocolate. It'd warm you right up and keep you begging for more." Donnelly expressed as he shared a fond memory with Shepard.

"I don’t know how many women will be impressed with those… are those Engineer Adam’s pants? I’m sure it’s okay, I don’t think they’ve had a woman inside them in a long time. I doubt he’ll be sore." Kenneth continued joking as both the men entered the elevator. It was nice to be out of engineering, stretching his legs going out for some shore leave.

After the Alliance was kind enough to escort Donnelly and the Commander to purgatory they began making their way into the bar, passing several humans, asari, turian and even a few salarians. Only two things could unite all the species of the galaxy and that was war and booze. Kenneth began swaying his body with the bass of the music that was playing throughout the club while his eyes lingered on the asari dancers. 

"What’s your poison commander?" Kenneth asked as they continued to the bar.

Shane couldn’t help but laugh. “Adams wouldn’t fit me unless I thinned down amongst other things. I had to alter a pair of James’s pants to actually fit me. Shirt is from the stock, not sure it was anyone’s in particular. 

Shane walked with a confidence and air that had not changed from the magic. The vanguard tended to command attention wherever he went. At least when he wasn’t trying to hide. He had done a fair few experiments where he had blended easily with some people not even believing who he was. 

His gaze lingered in the darker areas of Purgatory. From what he figured, he’d have a better time finding the ones who didn’t think they were worth attention. Plus, he always wanted to make someone feel better about themselves. 

"Mm. I think I’ll just have a bit o’ whisky. Always a good choice no matter the surroundings, hm?" he said, grinning slightly. Cybernetic sight continued to sweep through the crowds, noting the various species. He even glimpsed a couple of turian women. And a drell. Shane actually wasn’t picky about species. It just so happened that one was usually more comfortable with another of their own species. It was the truth for Shane as well.

Donnelly rested his elbows on the bar waving down the bartender. "Shot of whiskey for me laddie over here and an Irish car bomb for me self." Kenneth scoped the room for the lucky lady that would have the attention of both the Scotsmen and Commander for the evening.

A few girls caught Donnelly's eye. A blonde with an icy stare and what felt like an even colder shoulder sitting at the bar sipping on some sissy drink. An Asari dancer swaying her hips memorizing several of the soldiers with her rythme. Both seemed like a challenge if chosen. A red head was getting hassled by some of the soldiers and Donnelly could see she was getting irritated. Off to the side near the booths Kenneth saw a girl sitting by her lonesome and was curious if she was waiting for anyone. Finally the bartender served the two men their drinks and Donnelly handed the Commander her Whiskey.

"Ladies choice, commander. Who will the lucky lass be."

Kenneth shook his head with a smirk. “No, please. Ladies first.” The engineer joked gesturing toward the elevator. “Sure you don’t want to get all dolled up, commander? Might need all the help you can get.”

Donnelly was enjoying this and was curious to see the commander in action. The Scotsmen had seen Shepard dance on the battlefield, flawlessly; who would trip on her own two feet on an actual dance floor. Not to mention this fearless woman never had to worry about getting arouse and having to hide it when talking to an especially attractive woman. 

"Otherwise, the odds may be in my favor."

Shane rolled his eyes a bit as he made his way to the elevator. The question made him pause before perking a brow. “I think I’ll be just fine like this,” he said. No point wearing anything different. No point trying to find something that would actually fit, anyways. Being between Vega and Cortez in size didn’t help a lot at all. 

He tucked his hands into the pants pockets. Casual cargos he’d swiped from laundry. 

"Besides, something tells me putting too much effort into it could have the complete opposite effect. I don’t plan on losing out of hand like that," he added, leaning up against the wall. 

The Commander had certain tricks up his sleeve that he knew for a fact most did not. 

Though, the red scarring could scare away a good number of people fortune favored the bold.

"You don’t have to use the lass like a rump roast, we’re gentlemen after all." Kenneth explained. The Scotsmen was a ladies man but always respected women. It was something Donnelly’s grandmother engraved into him while growing up. "It’s however far the lass is interested in taking it, but we’ll say whoever gets her number first, wins." 

Kenneth was feeling confident and cock sure as he reached out his hand ready to shake on the bet. The engineer didn’t have many talents but getting people, especially woman to warm up to him was one. “You think you can handle this, commander? I’d hate to discover the illustrious Commander Shepard is a sore loser.”

The Commander tilted his head as he peered at the engineer a moment. He snorted softly. “Well, I don’t know so much about gentlemen,” he said, shrugging his shoulders. Then again… Hn. No. “But ja the general idea still applies.”

He reached out his hand with a smirk then nodded, taking it and giving it a firm shake. “I will have you know I am neither a sore loser nor a loser at all, Ken,” he said. An eyebrow perked. “I always win. It’s how I got t’ be the illustrious Commander Shepard,” oh well that was a lie but hey. It didn’t much matter at this stage did it?

He gestured vaguely to the side.

"After you, then."

"That’s the thing, Commander. No one will recognize you strutting about all manly and what have you." Kenneth explained reminding the Commander he was no longer the iconic Commander Shepard most people had become accustom to seeing on the vids. "And if you try convincing them of space magic the lass will be looking at you like a loon." Kenneth began feeling smug. "Here’s the deal, we go to purgatory enjoy ourselves a drink or two and find a lass. The lad who wins her affections for the evening wins. Unless you don’t think you’re up for it Commander? Seeing as you don’t have your name and heroic image to help you."

No one ever said the Commander was without honor. He’d had a thing for getting to know someone before doing much of anything with them for a while. Part of trying to rehabilitate his personality.

Donnelly enjoyed the idea of going against the famous commander Shepard. “I’m not one for being a sore loser.” Kenneth explained leaning in in a hushed voice.”Think you have what it takes to be a man, Commander? I’ll tell you it takes more than a third leg beneath your skirt, that’s for sure.” Ken bit his lip and gave the commander a grin. “Think you can woo a woman without your girlish charm?”

Shane laughed softly, shaking his head. “I don’t even wear a skirt t’ begin with. Or a kilt,” he pointed out. He rolled his shoulders a moment. “Girlish charm?” he repeated, incredulously. “Please. I have people falling over themselves just because I’m Commander Shepard. I’m a household name. It’s a bragging point t’ have been fucked by Shepard, hm?”

"Once I took to a lass who was a sweet as snow when I was a young lad, and warmed her up a wee bit in a way her father wasn’t happy with. One thing led to another and there I was stripped down to my birthday suit climbing down a drain spout with a gun pointed at me." Donnelly let out a chuckle. "I ran five miles in in nothing but me scibbies before I got home."
