I'm a Gryffindor and actually Gryffindors get a pretty bad rep for being cocky douchebags. I feel like I don't belong in Gryffindor because I'm actually very shy and anxious around others. Do either of you have any advice?

Truth is that Hogwarts’ students can have any, all, or neither of each house’s traits. That means that you can be ambitious, or brave, or those, and loyal and smart as well. Or you can think that you don’t show any of “important” traits. Therefore, I think that it is impossible to be sorted with one hundred percent certainty.In my opinion, you shouldn’t be worried about not growing up to your house’s stereotypical expectations. It has been taken that Gryffindors are reckless and as you said cocky, but it doesn’t mean that you should act this way. The worst thing is trying to change who you really are.And I think that all you need to do is just look at Marius. That guy is really awkward sometimes with all his shyness and some really weird sayings (believe me). But I don’t think that he feels bad with it. Like, hey, it wasn’t you who choose that house. It was Sorting Hat and it sees more than you see. It can go through your braaaaaain… (Okay, it sounded creepy now). What I think is - that you should not worry. Your being shy is not the most important thing. You’re probably super brave when it comes to other things than talking with people. I mean, everybody can’t be the same, right? Hell, look at Enjolras. You couldn’t find worst Slytherin than him. -R

You know, it's not even about crappy life. I haven't had that bad life, I just suck at spells. Ask anyone if you don't believe me. I should probably say that's hey, life is beautiful and all that, but man, life's a crap. But ya know, you have only one life after all, so I dunno, go and make friends. They can say that we are useless joke but hey, there's no better friend than Hufflepuff (Jehan, for example). And try to tell any of us, that we're not as brave as Gryffindor, not as loyal as Slytherin, or not as smart as Ravenclaw. Seriously. Try to tell it to Eponine. So, my dear anon! Mods talking: So, hello guys. Well, it's actually been a while since the last post and we're incredibly sorry about this! Unfortunately both, Sophie and me, have our ending exams in a month and well, we really don't have time. What is more, our lovely cynical-revolution can't help us with drawings any more :C We can still write you headcanons and little stories instead and maybe, one day, our drawing-master will decide to draw something occasionally.   So now, there's our question: do you still wanna this ask-thing or should we just delete this for good?

Wow, that's all four houses represented in Les Amis! That's awesome! Do you ever get discouraged from hanging out or studying together? I know interhouse relations aren't always encouraged, especially with Slytherin. No offence meant.

We’re living proof that interhouse friendship is somethin possible and it’s a shame we’re not seeing it very often. When it comes to houses this school is terribly stereotyped, I can’t see why would you think that everyone in…

Because, Enjolras, your house just has bad opinion. You should get used to it, you know? Snakes and all that stuff. Snakes don’t associate with something good, you know, Eve, apple, that stuff? And. About your next question, people are not /that/ stupid to mess with us. I know that’s surprised, but we have two prefects and few guys who’ll just beat you up. Not, like we’re violent or something. -RI don’t know any Eve, so I’m not sure who you’re talking about. And I had to get used to this childish behaviour during last five years, still, I think that sticking so much to stereotypes instead of trying to know someone better is just foolish.And we’re not violent, so don’t make us sound like we are.

Ah… Right. I forgot. Muggle thing. I am not making us sound violent. I’m just telling what all people know and why they are so calm and peaceful. -R

At the beginning we were kind of a sensation, some people were impressed, some were makin jokes of us. But hen they got used to us and everything calmed down. I mean, we’re just bunch of friends.

((You have to know that when I'm talking about things, I'm a bit very chaotic. But I'll try to explain my way of thinking in the best way I can.

At first I thought about going on him all Sirius Black, because (for me) he is definitely pure blood, his family has looong Slytherin tradition and Enjolras is completely different from them. But then I started thinking about this and idea of him being sorted to Slytherin suits me more.

He's very ambitious, resourceful, determinated, clever and he has leadership qualities. All of these are Slytherin traits, and what's interesting... Fraternity is also one of them! (And hey, he tried to overthrow the government!)

Of course, he has a nerve, he's brave and passionate... But so are the others of Les Amis, aren't they? And yet they weren't all sorted to Gryffindor, because other traits happened to be more essential, like dedication and hard work in case of Feuilly and wisdom and intelligence for Combeferre.

And I don't think that students who started June Rebellion were reckless. They were idealistic, they believed that they will succeed, but they also knew what they were doing (at least at the beginning). I believe that during preapring everything Enjolras had moments of hesitation, because he had to weigh all possible outcomes before deciding exactly what should be done and how (Something that Slytherins tend to). There's this pretty long fragment of the brick when he tells every single one of Les Amis where they had to go and who and what about they had to talk to.

Next thing (less important, but still) is that I hate this stereotype, that every Slytherin is evil. It would be so in Enjolras' style to try to prove that it's bullshit and you can't make opinion about people just by the house they were sorted to. - Soph

I'm a little bit confuse, what year are all in?

Oh dear, I was hoping noone would ask… You know, it was a bit hard to place them in the HP time line, because there are two persons running this blog and we had different ideas…

Dude, it’s about school year. Not… year, year.

so how did the all ten of you meet? Did you become friends in the train already or through the years?

I have known Combeferre since we were children, and he is close friend of mine. Of course we sat together in the train, and that’s when Courfeyrac decided to join us.Sometime in the middle of the journey he just barged into our compartment, introduced himself and started acting like if we were already friends.

I met Eponine on a train, and then we ended in the same House, so… About Jehan, everybody thought he was a bit weird (he still is) and they didn’t want to talk to him much. Then, there was a time I asked him about smething and once we started, we couldn’t really stop. And then the evening came, when Feuilly forced us to sing that strange Polish song… -R

Bahorel is in the same House, and on the same year, so I spoke to him once, or twice in the first month. Then, after one incident we started to talk more often, ando our conversations were getting longer. You may want to know, that when I was chosen for a Prefect, he decided to be my personal bodyguard. “Just in case."It took some time, but Bahorel befriended Feuilly, Combeferre - Joly and Courfeyrac - Marius, so when I decided it was time to organise our first meeting, everyone brought someone the knew… And it stayed like this.

Well, I wouldn’t be there if Jehan wasn’t head over hills with Courf. The fact, that guy was flirting with him during most of lessons wasn’t helping either, so… It just happened. And of course, Eponine. She was sighing because of Pontmer… -R

Grantaire, do you keep in touch with your muggle side? Like, are up to date with muggle technology, news, and entertainment or did you just forgot about it now that you're in Hogwarts?

To be honest, I don’t really give a shit about what happens in muggle world. Or at least, I’m trying to. As you know my mother is a muggle she is kind of obsessed about that. Once a week I get a letter about everything what happened, who’s the new Prime Minister, what Queen thinks about something…Sometimes she sends me “technological news" too, you know, photo of great wash-machine, or details about new microwave. When I was younger (it was 3rd year, I suppose) she gave me mp3 for Christmas. Obviously it didn’t work at Hogwarts, but when we came to Hogsmeade it suddenly started working, and THAT was the time, when Jehan believed in muggle-magic. He was like “That’s so small, how did they do it? Are there people inside it? Or is it some kind of instrument I don’t know? For Merlin’s sake, what kind of sorcery is that, will we learn it?" And for the next few hours Eponine and I were trying to explain it to him. -R

As to my favourite classes... I think that would be Defence Against Dark Arts and Charms. Casting spells isn't that hard when you are willing to do it and focused, so hours spent on learning this are rather nice. Besides, those are the most important lessons we're having. How could a wizard manage if he doesn't now how to cast basic spells, or is not able to defend himself? History of Magic is also important, but even more - very interesting. I can't understand why everyone decide to ignore Professor Binns when he's talking about Witch Hunts, or Goblin Rebellions. Those events had great effect on times we're living in.

So, at first, Muggle Studies. It's totally useless and incredibly boring, but seeing that confusion on Enjolras' face is totally worth it!

Then, hm... Herbology? You know, I don't have to do anything, because I'm always in pair with Jehan, and he's in love with flowers, so... And it's still nice, all the plants. Unless something tries to eat you.

But then - Potions, at which everybody believes me when I tell them something's going to blow up. Unfortunately, it doesn't. I still don't know what am I doing wrong. -R
