As soon as grian spotted jimmy, he ran up to the other, helping him sit up and looking him over

"Jim?! What happened?!""

Jimmy was sitting against a locker, his hand on the ground looking slightly bloody, and he altogether looked… horrible, really.

“G…ri. Hurts.”

Scott rushes over to him, concerned and panicked.

"Jimmy?! I'm here, it's okay, what happened? Who did this to you?!"

Grian halfheartedly waved at Scott, before turning his attention to Jimmy

"do you want me to pick you up? We should drive you to a hospital or something…"

“Mmh… sle..ep?”

"No, no sleep. You might have a concussion. Stay awake. We're getting you to the hospital"

Scott carefully picks him up

"This okay?"

Grian hesitated, reaching for Jimmy, but let Scott be the one to carry him

"I'll drive, my car is in front of the entrance. Can you carry him on your own?"

“B… tired.. okay…”

"I can carry him, thank you Grian. Let's get him to help."

He turns to Jimmy and kisses his forehead

"It'll be alright, Canary. I promise."

Grian silently nodded, and brought them both to his car.

He opened the car door for the two to get into and picked up something from the back of the car before handing it to Scott

"it's a first aid kit. Try patching him up a bit while I drive" he said, feigning calm, before sitting down in the driver's seat and starting up the car.

“…mh… X…rnoth…”

He takes the first aid kit from Grian and starts working on Jimmy.

"Thanks Gri-...what did you just say, Jimmy?"

Grian had been humming, tapping his fingers on the steering wheel to calm himself, but as soon as he heard what jimmy said, he went dead silent for a couple moments, before coldly asking.

"isn't Xornoth your brother's name?"

“Hhmm..”

He cuddled into Scott’s shoulder.

"...he did this to you. Why did I ever think he could change?! I'm gonna kill him, I'm ACTUALLY GONNA KILL THAT MOTHERFU-..."

He realizes he probably shouldn't be screaming while Jimmy is injured, he tries to hold back his anger.

"Sorry, I'll try to calm down"

"let's get him to the hospital first, we can talk murder later." Grian said, an almost eerie calm in his tone as he sped up the car.

"how bad is the bleeding?"

“Loud… ungh..”

Jimmy holds up his hand weakly, showing that it’s bleeding quite a bit.

“Hurt… stepped on… heavy..”

"I can't understand you, baby. I'm sorry I was loud, we're almost to the hospital."

He looks at his hand and tries to stop the bleeding.

"It's pretty bad Grian, please hurry."

"alright. Hold on." Grian sighed, before pressing on the gas - going well over the speed limit.

He had a white-knuckle grip on the steering wheel. "I'm getting there as fast as j can…"

He made a whine like noise and continued to bury his head in Scott’s shoulder.

"It's okay, it's gonna be okay, it HAS to be."

He holds Jimmy closer, careful not to touch any of his injuries.

Grian got to the hospital in record time - probably breaking a couple traffic laws - and as soon as he parked, ran to open the car door for the two

"need help getting him out? Jim how are you feeling?"

“Sleepy…”

He complained, holding onto Scott.

"Sweetheart, don't fall asleep. Please don't fall asleep."

He tries to pull him out of the car but it's tricky without hurting him.

"Mind helping, Grian?"

Grian nodded, moving to grab jimmy out of the car, holding him in his arms

"I think I can carry him inside, if it's fine with him too." He murmured, his voice barely hiding his urgency to get moving.

“I can walk-!”

He tries to get out of Grian’s arms, only to fall back into them immediately.

“…I can’t walk D:”

"It's gonna be okay, baby. Let us help you. Since he's out of the car, Grian, I can carry him over. I've carried him plenty of times I'm used to it."

"ive carried him too, Scott, he's my cousin and-" he paused.

"… and It's not the moment to be hostile. Sorry. You can carry him"

He slowly moved Jimmy into Scott's arms, hesitating before turning around towards the hospital "let's go, quick" and immediately started walking, without waiting for an answer.

He turns around in Scott’s arms and wraps his arms around his waist, hugging him.

Scott has no problem keeping up with Grian. He's careful not to hurt Jimmy any more than he already is.

"It's fine, Grian. It's a high stress situation, I get it. Let's just get him inside"

Grian just shook his head, rushing inside and asking for someone to help Jimmy.

He spoke quickly, his movements twitchy.

Jimmy just looked pretty and injured and cuddled into Scott.

A little while later Jimmy is being taken care of while Scott and Grian wait in the hallway. Scott is pacing anxiously and looks like he's about to punch a wall.

Grian was also pacing, muttering under his breath.

His expression was stone, though by his twitchy movements one could easily tell he wasn't calm.

He kept glancing in the direction he knew Jimmy was in, hoping someone would tell them he was at least ok. He didn't know what he'd do if he wasn't.

"I'm a terrible boyfriend. I KNEW that motherfucker hurt him before. Why did I think he could change? Why did I EVER think he could change?! I let him closer and he hurt Jimmy. How could I let this happen..."

"shut up." Grian's voice was harsh, but it softened at his next words.

"you're not the one who hurt Jimmy. You trusted the wrong person. That's it. That's no fault of yours. Blaming yourself won't make this disappear so just- don't think about that."

Scott freezes in place, he glances over at Grian and then sits down by the door.

Grian rubbed his forehead, sighing.

"sorry. Sorry I- that was too much…" he mumbled, glancing at the door and starting to pace again.

He taps his foot against the floor repeatedly, not realizing he's doing it.

"yeah. Yeah he will be. He… I don't know what I'd do if he isn't." He said the last part only as a half joke.

He sat down as well, pulling up one leg on the seat to hug it.

"I'll have to talk to your brother you know?" He murmured, his voice going cold again.

"He'll be lucky if he can still hear when Oli is done with him. I think I'm gonna kill that bastard"

"I'm helping." Grian agreed, glancing at Scott again, trying to size up how the other was doing.

Scott's trying to hide the tears streaming down his face.

"Yeah...let's send him to hell"

Grian hesitated, placing a hand on Scott's shoulder.

"hey?" He hummed, squeezing his shoulder, trying to comfort him.

"… want to talk to distract yourself while we wait…?" He offered, quietly. He didn't know how to comfort Scott - it was the first time he'd seen him like this. Jimmy, Pearl or Lizzie were easier. He knew them.

He gives Grian a grateful look and wipes his eyes.

Grian's shoulders relaxed. He hadn't fucked up royally, at least.

"so… how have classes been? Good? Had any troubles in particular or…"

"It's going pretty well. I already taught myself a lot of this stuff when I was younger, I just didn't know the names for different stitches and stuff. What about you?"

"I was thinking about switching majors again, actually, but I don't think I can afford that, both in money and time department. It's been good though, I just… doing the same thing for too long gets boring, you know?" He chuckled, shaking his head, his expression s little tense though he tried to hide it.

"glad you're liking your classes… fashion design, right? I'll have to ask for your help in outfits. I can't keep wearing the same red sweater every day"

"Ugh, please! I've been wanting to get you some other clothes for AGES"

He laughs, forgetting about Jimmy and Xornoth for a moment.

"fine, fine!" Grian chuckled "after we're done here we can go clothes shopping. You do seem to have better taste than me, as much as I hate to admit it"

Oli bursts in through the hospital doors, before looking at a startled nurse and apologising. She looks for Grian and Scott and runs up to them.

“What happened, how is he, what room is he in-“

An onslaught of questions leave his mouth in five seconds.

Grian had barely glanced at his phone, and now looked very frazzled

"i- hes- he's in ■■ room, w think he's fine, they haven't told us yet, Xornoth was involved we're not sure how."

"Hey Oli, what Grian said. No idea how he's doing."

His face is still visibly red from crying but he's hoping Oli doesn't notice.

“Hi, Scott, please don’t act nonchalant when your boyfriends in the hospital. Who’s in charge of him?”

"uh- that's- a good question-" he paused for a moment "something like… ■■■■? They- they sounded cool. Like. They weren't freaking out. But that's probably the training- they- they haven't told us much yet" he murmured, tapping his foot on the floor, fidgeting with his phone.

Scott starts biting his nails before quickly stopping himself and glancing at the nail polish. Instead he digs his nails into his legs while staring at the floor.

"I wish they would hurry up and tell us what's happening"

Oli sighs and goes up to a nurse he saw going out of Jimmy’s room. They can’t hear the conversation, but it must work because Oli returns with a pissed off expression.

“Light concussion. Bruised rib. Broken hand.”

Grian nodded, signing, covering his face

"could've been worse…" he mumbled, chewing on his lip "did they say anything about us being able to see him or-?"

Scott glances up at Grians question and waits anxiously for Oli's answer.

“Said one person could.”

Grian looked about to say something, but hesitated.

"… I should sit this one out. I don't think he'd want to see me if you two are here too" he looked to the ground, fidgeting

"...I need to see him, I have to make sure he's okay. It's my mistake that got us here, I shouldn't have trusted Xornoth again. Oli, do you mind if I go in?"

“…fine. But don’t-… fine. Go ahead.”

Grian slumped into the chair, staring at the ground - his movements snappy and choppy again.

"say hi from me" he murmured, still tapping his foot on the floor

"I will, thank you"

He takes a deep breath and steps into the hospital room

Jimmy lay on the hospital bed, unconscious. In the corner there are surgeons talking about surgery on his hand , but when they see you they leave.

He sits next to the bed and looks down at him, scared to touch him and hurt him more. Tears well up in the corners of his eyes again.

"I'm sorry..."

The steady sound of the heart monitor is the only sound in the quiet room.

"I know you probably can't hear me, but Grian and Oli are here too. It's only one visitor for now, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for everything. I'll never let him near you again, I swear."

Oli bursts in through the hospital doors, before looking at a startled nurse and apologising. She looks for Grian and Scott and runs up to them.

He kept glancing in the direction he knew Jimmy was in, hoping someone would tell them he was at least ok. He didn't know what he'd do if he wasn't.

"you're not the one who hurt Jimmy. You trusted the wrong person. That's it. That's no fault of yours. Blaming yourself won't make this disappear so just- don't think about that."

Scott freezes in place, he glances over at Grian and then sits down by the door.

Grian rubbed his forehead, sighing.

"sorry. Sorry I- that was too much…" he mumbled, glancing at the door and starting to pace again.

"His injuries didn't look THAT bad, I'm sure he'll be fine...right?"

He taps his foot against the floor repeatedly, not realizing he's doing it.

"yeah. Yeah he will be. He… I don't know what I'd do if he isn't." He said the last part only as a half joke.

He sat down as well, pulling up one leg on the seat to hug it.

"I'll have to talk to your brother you know?" He murmured, his voice going cold again.

"He'll be lucky if he can still hear when Oli is done with him. I think I'm gonna kill that bastard"

"I'm helping." Grian agreed, glancing at Scott again, trying to size up how the other was doing.

Scott's trying to hide the tears streaming down his face.

"Yeah...let's send him to hell"

Grian hesitated, placing a hand on Scott's shoulder.

"hey?" He hummed, squeezing his shoulder, trying to comfort him.

He gives Grian a grateful look and wipes his eyes.

Grian's shoulders relaxed. He hadn't fucked up royally, at least.

"so… how have classes been? Good? Had any troubles in particular or…"

"It's going pretty well. I already taught myself a lot of this stuff when I was younger, I just didn't know the names for different stitches and stuff. What about you?"

"glad you're liking your classes… fashion design, right? I'll have to ask for your help in outfits. I can't keep wearing the same red sweater every day"

"Ugh, please! I've been wanting to get you some other clothes for AGES"

He laughs, forgetting about Jimmy and Xornoth for a moment.

"fine, fine!" Grian chuckled "after we're done here we can go clothes shopping. You do seem to have better taste than me, as much as I hate to admit it"

Oli bursts in through the hospital doors, before looking at a startled nurse and apologising. She looks for Grian and Scott and runs up to them.

“What happened, how is he, what room is he in-“

An onslaught of questions leave his mouth in five seconds.

Grian had barely glanced at his phone, and now looked very frazzled

"i- hes- he's in ■■ room, w think he's fine, they haven't told us yet, Xornoth was involved we're not sure how."

"Hey Oli, what Grian said. No idea how he's doing."

His face is still visibly red from crying but he's hoping Oli doesn't notice.

“Hi, Scott, please don’t act nonchalant when your boyfriends in the hospital. Who’s in charge of him?”

Scott starts biting his nails before quickly stopping himself and glancing at the nail polish. Instead he digs his nails into his legs while staring at the floor.

"I wish they would hurry up and tell us what's happening"

As soon as grian spotted jimmy, he ran up to the other, helping him sit up and looking him over

Grian halfheartedly waved at Scott, before turning his attention to Jimmy

"No, no sleep. You might have a concussion. Stay awake. We're getting you to the hospital"

Grian hesitated, reaching for Jimmy, but let Scott be the one to carry him

"I'll drive, my car is in front of the entrance. Can you carry him on your own?"

"it's a first aid kit. Try patching him up a bit while I drive" he said, feigning calm, before sitting down in the driver's seat and starting up the car.

He takes the first aid kit from Grian and starts working on Jimmy.

"Thanks Gri-...what did you just say, Jimmy?"

Grian had been humming, tapping his fingers on the steering wheel to calm himself, but as soon as he heard what jimmy said, he went dead silent for a couple moments, before coldly asking.

"isn't Xornoth your brother's name?"

He cuddled into Scott’s shoulder.

He realizes he probably shouldn't be screaming while Jimmy is injured, he tries to hold back his anger.

"Sorry, I'll try to calm down"

"let's get him to the hospital first, we can talk murder later." Grian said, an almost eerie calm in his tone as he sped up the car.

"how bad is the bleeding?"

“Loud… ungh..”

Jimmy holds up his hand weakly, showing that it’s bleeding quite a bit.

“Hurt… stepped on… heavy..”

"I can't understand you, baby. I'm sorry I was loud, we're almost to the hospital."

He looks at his hand and tries to stop the bleeding.

"It's pretty bad Grian, please hurry."

"alright. Hold on." Grian sighed, before pressing on the gas - going well over the speed limit.

He had a white-knuckle grip on the steering wheel. "I'm getting there as fast as j can…"

He made a whine like noise and continued to bury his head in Scott’s shoulder.

"It's okay, it's gonna be okay, it HAS to be."

He holds Jimmy closer, careful not to touch any of his injuries.

Grian got to the hospital in record time - probably breaking a couple traffic laws - and as soon as he parked, ran to open the car door for the two

"need help getting him out? Jim how are you feeling?"

“Sleepy…”

He complained, holding onto Scott.

"Sweetheart, don't fall asleep. Please don't fall asleep."

He tries to pull him out of the car but it's tricky without hurting him.

"Mind helping, Grian?"

Grian nodded, moving to grab jimmy out of the car, holding him in his arms

"I think I can carry him inside, if it's fine with him too." He murmured, his voice barely hiding his urgency to get moving.

“I can walk-!”

He tries to get out of Grian’s arms, only to fall back into them immediately.

“…I can’t walk D:”

"It's gonna be okay, baby. Let us help you. Since he's out of the car, Grian, I can carry him over. I've carried him plenty of times I'm used to it."

"ive carried him too, Scott, he's my cousin and-" he paused.

He slowly moved Jimmy into Scott's arms, hesitating before turning around towards the hospital "let's go, quick" and immediately started walking, without waiting for an answer.

He turns around in Scott’s arms and wraps his arms around his waist, hugging him.

Scott has no problem keeping up with Grian. He's careful not to hurt Jimmy any more than he already is.

"It's fine, Grian. It's a high stress situation, I get it. Let's just get him inside"

Grian just shook his head, rushing inside and asking for someone to help Jimmy.

He spoke quickly, his movements twitchy.

Jimmy just looked pretty and injured and cuddled into Scott.

A little while later Jimmy is being taken care of while Scott and Grian wait in the hallway. Scott is pacing anxiously and looks like he's about to punch a wall.

His expression was stone, though by his twitchy movements one could easily tell he wasn't calm.
