A lone figure stared out at the scorching, sunlight from the shadowed area where he stood. A hopeless, broken looked upon his half burnt face. His once perfect, pale skin now riddled with hidious sores, burns and deep gashes. All self inflicted damage.
Biting back a sob the white-haired man steped out from the shade and back into the sun. It was time to end it all. End his suffering. End his lonliness. End his life once and for all. Nobody would miss him. They all hated him. Even the people who he saw as his beloved parents never loved him. It was all an act. He was completely alone. He always had been.
Emit let out a soft cry as the sun burned through his exposed skin. He had opted just to wear his pants, so that sun could do more damage. Sobs wracked his form as he recalled everything he had been through. From being abandoned by his “Mothers” when he was only a child. To being betrayed by his best and only friend, Majora, to the lonliness and hate he experienced as forgotten and loathed god.
Emit’s mind wandered to the times Akim and Hylia had carried for him. It was…what was it like? It was getting hard to think now. The sun was cooking his insides. Searing and rendering nerves and cells useless. By now his skin was covered in disgusting heat sores, which burst in many areas. Puss and blood leaking everywhere around him. His skin looked rotted and areas of it had turned a charred black and even began to break and peel away revealing burning, cooked muscle and bits of yellowish fat underneath.
Coughing now the deity gasped for breath, his burning lungs doing little but searing and scorching his throat causing more sores to form on his insides which burst quickly. The dying god’s eyes widened as he felt blood leak from his mouth. By the Goddesses it hurt! It hurt so much, but none of it could compare to how broken, guilty and alone he felt inside.
Ears ringing and vision becoming blurred Emit could feel his end drawing near. He could hardly think or speak anymore and his muscles had all but burned rendering them useless. He was stuck now, but he really didn’t care anymore.
Closing his eyes ready to accept his fate Emit was jolted slightly when he heard a female voice scream his name. Wait…was that his name? He couldn’t remember. He didn’t care. Opening his eyes he could vaguely make out two figures running at him. One tall with white hair and clad in a light blue tunic. The other much shorter with flowing, blonde hair and garbed in a white dress. They seemed so…familiar.
”Emit!! Oh Goddess, Emit! What have you done to yourself?!” he heard a voice scream at him. It sounded like it was crying. “Why would you do this, Emit?” a second voice asked. This one sounding deeper and slightly calmer but still upset.
Emit didn’t know what to do or to say..heck he couldn’t do or say anything. His vision was staring to go White now and he felt cold. He was almost gone.
Suddenly all memories of his life were thrown back at him all at once. The people standing over him! It was Hylia and Akim, the two kindly gods that cared for him as a child. They really did care for him.
A small, sad, smile graced his bloody lips. Although he couldn’t see anymore he still knew the two were there.
”H-H….Hey….” he choked out. “I…..lo…love you….Mama…..a-and…..Papa….s-so…” tears streamed down his cracked cheeks and onto his now exposed teeth as he spoke. ” d-don’t….b….be….sad…..” He was finding it increasingly hard to move his lips. “I-I’m….always………..here……..j…..just…look…t-to…..the…………….moon.” he whispered with one last pained, seared breathe. With that it was all over. The Deity of the Moon was dead. Forgotten and hated was how he lived but he died loved and would always be remembered by, by a certain pair of gods who would look to the moon each night to remember their ‘son’.
