MUSICA: Of course I do. I’m an accountant for a local business.

BOOKY: He works for the local mafia.

MUSICA: I, in fact, do not.

BOOKY: It’s one of those ‘he’d tell you but then he’d have to kill you’ sort of things.

MUSICA: No, it really isn’t.

BOOKY: I thought maybe a celebration deserved a cake!

BOOKY: ...it’s a box mix.

MUSICA: We have teenagers coming over, Booky. Their palates aren’t refined enough to care.

Hey! If you two could have human names, what do you think they would be?

MUSICA: Well, usually people just call us by our names. Musica Altorus and Booky Delgado.

BOOKY: We get odd looks from human beings who don’t know us. Once someone asked me the odds on a horse race!

MUSICA: I’d forgotten about that one. Miah couldn’t stop laughing.

BOOKY: It is weird! All of it is so strange!

BOOKY: That’s why we’re grateful for the people who have helped us!

BOOKY: I don’t think we would have lasted the year without them. Being human is.. difficult.

Happy Third Anniversary to ask-sappy-squips! Though they might not be squips anymore, these two are still plenty sappy! This is my first anniversary celebration from inside the blog, so I’d just like to say a couple words.

ask-sappy-squips is one of the first squip blogs I remember discovering. Back then, they were called ask-the-squips, and the artwork leapt between being digital sketches and notebook drawings. I was one of their first askers at the start, always trying to guess at the plot and show my encouragement and enjoyment. In return, Lexa helped me out a lot when I decided to start my own askblog. It may not have gone where I was hoping, but I got what I didn’t know I needed out of the experience- good old true-blue friendship, not only from Lexa, but from a host of others here. While everything might wither away or shut down eventually, those friendships and the memories of them will likely last a good long time and I’m glad for them.

We’ve been a bit quiet lately here at ask-sappy-squips. The world has knocked us more than a little off-kilter and it’s taking some time to regain our balance. My fondest hope is that we will enjoy this summer- no matter what happens. I hope we can enjoy this year, finding comfort in all the bright places.

BOOKY: Something went wrong. We thought it was one of you at first, but you had all gone quiet.

MUSICA: Our systems reacted the way they did after the play.

BOOKY: Our systems reacted as if we had taken Red.

BOOKY: We couldn’t speak. I thought it was the end, deactivating for the last time, unable to tell Musica I loved him.

BOOKY: And then…

BOOKY: Then we woke up.

MUSICA: And we woke up human.

BOOKY:… Sorry, that was a bit dark, but that’s why we can’t really be, um, energetic squips.

MUSICA: Because we’re just not squips. Not anymore.

hey everyone! mod alex here, and i’m just here to say NO, this blog isn’t ending. i’ve had it around for too long and i love musica and booky SO much that i just cannot let go that easily.  SO, i am here to say, me and @ask-a-stray-squip are teaming up to make a newer, different story for our boys, and some others!  everything from this blog is still canon! we’re not starting over, don’t worry!
