đź”´ Resident Evil 3 Remake - First Impressions
How many games and how do you think Umbrella should have gone down after code Veronica? Drawn out or in one big game? Do you think Umbrella should have just been destroyed at once, or broken into a bunch of smaller groups then destroyed? The fall of Umbrella should have been an epic :(
I think it should’ve definitely been something built up towards in multiple games. As for the fall of Umbrella itself, I’m not sure if that would literally be feasible as a game (I think Outbreak File #2 handled it pretty well with that subtle courtroom cutscene). But I do think there should’ve been a game, possibly two, that address Wesker & Spencer’s end - RE5′s was bullshit. Should’ve been a legit confrontation.
How do you think Ada and Leon's relationship should have progressed and ended post RE2? Ive always been split on her going good and joining the Classic group or just temp joining the Characters, telling Leon how them meeting in Raccoon changed her as a person, and then disappearing from the series. Leon's always seemed like a knight in (Moral) armor for Ada to me. Ada's done a lot of .. questionable things as a spy and is probably always around seriously amoral and disgusting people. (Continued)
…So meeting Leon must have been a relief (and sortof shock) from all the loathsome people she was working with I think. A Morally courageous and sincerely good person in the final days of Raccoon and with her own background, and people around her, I think she fell really hard. But how they handled it afterwards in Re4 onwards.. repetitive femme fatale stuff, on and on with no conclusion. How do you think they should have handled and ended it?
—I’m also not a fan of the Femme Fatale persona they placed on Ada after Resident Evil 2, nor the whole Mr. & Mrs. Smith dynamic between her and Leon. That all pretty much goes hand in hand with my distaste of RE4 and the later games as a whole. That being said, it’s tough to really say what the best course of action for their relationship should’ve been. On one hand, you don’t want it to be too generic, on the other you don’t wanna step the bounds into “fan fiction” territory (see: Sherry & Jake). The way I see it, I guess there are three main possible outcomes:• The happy ending, where Ada ultimately decides to finally stop running, and joins with Leon legitimately. This would need a lot of time / games to be developed, but it’s definitely not impossible. At worst, this ending is probably the most sappy / fan fiction-y.• The tragic ending, where regardless of what Ada decides, she is killed. For real. None of this grappling hook escapist bullshit. And it doesn’t have to necessarily be an “ending” for Leon, it could be a plot device to shift his character into a new arch.• The neutral ending, where Ada chooses to go her own path and leaves Leon behind for good -or- Leon denounces Ada completely. Though that’s difficult to pull off, since there will always be that lingering chance to reunite them. I’m sure there’s probably a way to pull that off in a definitive manner, but it’d take good writing to do so.
What's your opinion on that Netflix resident evil adaption that's coming? đź‘€
Wow sorry, I have no idea how long ago this was asked!I remember hearing rumors about that a while back, but it looks like nothing’s come of it yet? I’m not even sure if it’s still in the works at all anymore. All I have to say is, if it’s based around the movie franchise, it can fuck right off. 🤣
Hello there! Mind if i ask about that that old RE meme on deviant art you did in 2011 cause i was wondering about if your choices back then still sand like the 2 favorite characters and lest favorite :0
That Resident Evil Meme was just an exaggerated parody :PIt’s essentially taking the piss out of tween fangirls who tend to think with their pants, so it didn’t / doesn’t reflect my own feelings at all. That’s actually why I gave the avatar a completely different name, but at the time, didn’t think to give her a different look, so that could understandably cause some confusion. My favorite characters are Leon and Claire, specifically from RE2. I also really do like characters such as Jill, Ada, and even Ashley. My least favorite are Krauser and basically all the side characters from RE5+.
Have you seen any of the Classic RE animations and Parodies that have been made since the announcement and release of the Remake? If you have, any you think are particularly good?
If you mean RE2make specifically, I’ve only really watched one animation, and it was actually about the classic RE2.It’s called Finding Film DD, created by Java Ghoul, and I’m actually a really big fan of his animation style. It’s very reminiscent of other Resident Evil animators like DirectorBen92 and MasterTubaman.
If Jill found Sherry when she was in the RPD, how would their relationship be different compared to Claire's?
Tough to say since we’ve never really seen Jill interact with anyone all that young. Unless you count the novels, where she wasn’t nearly as motherly as Claire, but cared about kids and their safety all the same.Personally, I can only guess she’d maybe be less sensitive than Claire, but not necessarily mean or cold. More like just treating them like a small adult and getting down to business.
Hey Leggy. Now that you have played RE2 remake, What is your favorite scenario to play among the four? And which weapon and overall character arsenal you enjoyed the most? Also tell me your favorite moment and Boss Battle. :)
Hey! I think overall, I liked Leon’s scenario the most, doesn’t matter whether A or B since they are so similar. That’s mainly because I feel Leon acted the most like himself among all the characters, so he was the most enjoyable of the playthroughs. I also prefer his weapons as well, particularly the magnum.I think in general, William had a fantastic design all around, so just seeing him done so well was a real treat. The sewer gator really caught me off-guard on the first run, and all things considered, I found that to be a pretty tastefully done action scene.
Leggy, have you ever thought of doing a satire video on the bizarre hand movements that the Classic Re Characters do? It's like sign language since they can't move their mouths (or eyes or faces for that matter, just nod and shake their heads!)
I’ve made fun of this quite a few times in real life with friends, we clench our fingers and do all those silly movements XP I’m not sure if I could do a whole video about the concept, but maybe something like a little animated .gif could work!
If you play RE2's remake, be sure to get the "Original Ver. Soundtrack Swap" with it. This really adds to the atmosphere of the game c: Plus I think there is a fixed camera mod on the PC for the game itself.
I did end up getting the original OST just recently, which I’ll definitely be using, as the RE2make’s OST is severely lackluster. Hopefully the fixed camera mod will be good as well, though given how that worked in Lost in Nightmares, I feel it may be purely visual, but likely unplayable.
Connecting to the server is pretty easy. Just go to yours PS3's network settings and change the DNS. Try It when u can! Oh! And RDR is awesome. It's actually one of my favorite last gen games. And the best part is that it just got a sequel that looks even more awesome! Are u excited to play RDR2?
Sounds good to me, thanks for the info! Red Dead really was great, I’d definitely love to play the sequel if we do end up getting a PS4. It’d be nice to try Red Dead Revolver at some point, too.
Hey Leggy! Do u still play on your PS3? The "Return to Boletaria" event is ON! More info about the event on DeS Reddit. People are coming back to Demon Souls. Time to take this beauty of a game for a spin, don't u think? :)
I do occasionally. Recently I beat Red Dead Redemption for the first time, including Undead Nightmare which was great all around! And of course I have Demon’s Souls but I’ve yet to connect to the fan-made server. If I can get that working, I’d definitely love to check it out!
Shotgun is always king on horror games for me, since the early days of Doom. They are always so strong and satisfying to use and blow monsters up. But I Just love using handguns in RE games, because they are fun to "pop" and very stilish IMO. Loved the fact that you could make the samurai edge relevant for bosses with E. Ammo on RE3. Also HG are the most Fun on post RE4 games. As for acid rounds, they were most Fun in RE2 4 me. Remember the "melting" effect that make the zombies' Head fall off?
Yeah, for me, shotguns were most satisfying in RE2. Just the crazy amount of gore and dismemberment they cause on zombies blew my mind as a teenager. And the head-melting with the grenade launcher was exactly why I liked it so much! It all sounds so morbid, but it really was, and is, such a damn cool game.
Hi Leggy! How would you rank the RE weapon classes - Handgun, Shotgun, Machinegun, Sniper, Magnum, GL? Your ranking is based on efficiency or fun?
Hey! I really don’t know anything about weapons other than how “fun” they are to use in games, so I’ve always based my enjoyment on that. For Resident Evil specifically, I’ve most enjoyed using the magnum and shotgun for the raw power. Handguns are fun for the weaker enemies, since everything else would feel OP, at least depending on the situation.Grenade launcher mainly depends on the ammo, which I think acid rounds are the most fun to use. Don’t really care for machine guns or snipers in the Resident Evil universe. Plus, this is mainly based on how I feel about the classic game’s weapons, since we’re talking about actual fun and enjoyment here. :P
ok honey let me make this as clear as posible kay? THE GAME IS NOT BEING MADE FOR YOU IT'S BEING MADE FOR A NEW GENERATION AND IF YOU WANT A EXACT COPY OF THE OLD GAMES THEN GO PLAY THE OLD GAMES AND LET US ENJOY THE NEW ONES understand or should i draw for you since you cant?
If you do draw and create original content, then power to you. Draw the things you love, or use your skills to share your opinions on the things you don’t like, or think could be improved.Just as I’m going to keep doing!
Besides the RE games, is there any single player game or franchise that you replayed/plan to replay from time to time just because of how good the game is?
I can happily replay any of the Dark Souls games in offline mode for sure, as well as the original Silent Hill games and many JRPGs such as Final Fantasy and Suikoden!
dont you think its better to idk SEE THE FULL GAME BEFORE REACTING
You’ve got quite a lot of people to tell the same thing!
