The End Result of a Groovy Mutation

Hello and welcome to our blog. My name is Charles Xavier and I live with my husband, Erik Lehnsherr, as well as with our two year old daughters, Edie and Ruth, and a third child on the way. We are more than pleased to answer questions about our life and share with you both our joys and struggles in our journey of parenthood as mutants.

Charles and Erik arrive in Cairo, Egypt to retrieve a young mutant by the name of Ororo Munroe or “Storm” as the caretakers of the orphanage call her. However, neither of the pair realize the magnitude of the six year old’s powers or lack of restraint until she inadvertently causes a large thunderstorm that she is unable to control.

Hello Charles, how are things? Have you picked a name yet for the baby? I think Max and Jakob are lovely names personally. How are the girls? Are they excited for their baby brother? How's Erik? Is he worried? Well, I hope everyone is doing well. :)

Hello, fellow blogger! I hope your day has been going accordingly. Life at the mansion has been rather relaxed this week. The teenagers have begun their studies again after a long winter break and the girls have been enjoying their preschool program in town. As for the baby, we still haven't decided upon an official name for him yet. The girls (they haven't really grasped the concept that soon they will be joined by a younger sibling) have started to refer to the baby as "Chip" so that's what we've been calling him until he has an actual name. Hank figures we have at least until the beginning of February until he's ready to be born, so there is still a good amount of time to debate Max or Jakob. 

Erik's doing well, thank you for asking. He's been keeping himself busy with the teenager's classes. He doesn't much like to talk about Chip... I guess that's because he's still concerned about my health. But I know he'll love him. He'll have to once he's here. Erik's just been through a lot of...difficulties...in his life that no one should have to face. I try to remember that when he seems distant sometimes. But someone has to keep their head up high in this family. Hopefully soon all will be well... I can only hope.

We've Returned!

Hello my fellow bloggers. I apologize for our absence. We've just been very busy lately. I'm hoping you all had a safe and wonderful holiday! We had a very productive one here at the mansion. The girls are both doing well. Erik and I have enrolled them for preschool starting this January. A bit nerve-wracking to be quite honest (Erik was against the whole idea but I thought it would be good for Ruth and Edie to explore what the world is like outside of the home). If any of you fellow parents out there can offer any tips to us or stories about your young ones starting school, I think it would be much beneficial to both mine and Erik's mindsets. 

Oh! Of course! I'm quite sure you're all wondering about the baby. He's doing quite well. Yes, I did mean to say he. Erik and I learned the sex about two weeks ago. He's growing at an awfully accelerate rate but I've been handling it rather nicely for the time being. However, right now the real concern is choosing a name for the tyke. We've narrowed it down to three choices: Max, Jakob (after Erik's late father), or Kalb (after Erik's teacher who saved his life in Auschwitz on many separate occasions). Perhaps you can assist us in our indecisiveness? We are at a loss.

Alas, again, I apologize for our unannounced hiatus and quick update. Once things return to their normal flow, hopefully we'll be updating as quick as we used to. Until then, Merry Belated Christmas! -Charles

So... You and Erik are the most powerful couple like ever?

Well, it depends on how you define the word powerful. For instance, I am pretty sure the King and Queen of England hold more political power than Erik and I do. But I’m assuming you meant mutation wise. It is quite possible. However, it is currently unknown how many mutants are out there. Cerebro is just in its beginning stages so I would not doubt it for even a second the possibility of two mutants out there who are romantically together holding much more powerful mutations than Erik and I.

Does a superior level IQ count as a mutation?

It is at the lower quadrant of mutations. Think of it as a pyramid. The bottom tier, which many people including humans fall under, has genetics that follow patterns such as two differently colored eyes, an extra finger, double joints, etc. The higher you go on the pyramid, the more complex the mutation gets. Mutants, people such as Erik and myself are referred to as, are towards the very tip. We have abilities that are considered superhuman and in even some cases supernatural. Thus we are called "mutants" because we are more of our genetic mutation if that makes any sense? However, the less human you look also sadly puts you higher on the spectrum. My sister, Raven, Hank McCoy, and Azazel are in the point of the pyramid as they both are physically and mentally attached to their mutations.

*a letter sent after few days* Dear Charles, I heard Erik is back. Too bad he did it in just one piece, I could have did so much better to him... By the way, did you tell him about us? Or are you planning to keep me as your secret? Maybe I could drop you another visit and finish what we started with that kiss. ~ Victor

*reads letter and vigorously begins to formulate a response* Please stay out of my family's and my life, Victor. I'm asking you not as a friend, but in a plea for your own safety. Erik is not afraid to kill and I cannot stop him if he tries. If he learns about you, he will want blood and I cannot watch even the most distasteful of people suffer. So please, for your own sake, do not attempt to contact me again. My family is whole once more and I've had enough sorrow as it is. Find someone who will love you just as equally as you love them. Just know that that someone is not and will not be me. -Charles

If you hadn't gotten pregnant would you and Erik consider the possibility of adopting?

Oh, most definitely. In a sense, the children who currently reside in the mansion are almost like our adopted children. However, if Erik and I did not have children of our own biologically, adoption would definitely be in our agenda. I think we'd attempt to adopt mutants who had been abandoned by their parents in such cases as my sister Raven. And who knows, we may even adopt a child one day. But for now, we have our hands tied with our students, our young girls, and a third child currently on the way.

I have a twin, but it's always been hard for our mother to raise us because she had us at the age of sixteen and was soon a single mother. I'm glad your girls have two parents in their lives-- two very good ones at that. :)

Your mother deserves much respect for what she did. Raising a child with a significant other is hard enough work as it is. But raising two alone at such a young age is very commendable. I applaud her efforts. From just how you write yourself in this comment, I can tell she raised you and your sister very well. I hope you'll take her parenting tips and use them when you have your own children. She may have been young, but she seems far more mature than possibly her years say. Oh yes, and thank you for the compliment. Erik and I try hard. We may not be the best parents but we love the girls very much. I'm glad you think we do a decent job because some nights I question myself.

Professor Xavier's Journal: Eighth Entry (November 16, 1965)

November 16th:

I apologize for not posting a journal yesterday, life was rather hectic. Erik finally came home around midnight of last night. To summarize, he's going to have to do a lot to truly make it up to me, but ultimately, we're okay again. I still however, do not think he has truly accepted the fact that I am pregnant once again. Hopefully he'll be more lighthearted about the prospect of another child (and to the fact that I really do plan not to die) later on in the pregnancy.

Ororo and the girls finally became acquainted. At first they merely just eyed each other. Then Ruth asked, "You like dollies?" and Ororo (she was still shy. I'm not quite sure if she understood what they were actually saying) nodded her head. And just like that, they were off. It went far better than I had anticipated. I just hope this sharing phase lasts so the girls don't start screaming matches over who's toys are who's.

Also my fellow bloggers, I got to thinking the other night. Ororo was five when her powers manifested. That puts her just three years older than the girls when it happened. So, I got to theorizing that maybe...just maybe if it happened so early for her that the girls (because they come from two mutant parents) might get it even earlier than that. Granted, Ororo did have a rough childhood and that could have brought it on. But it's just an idea that's been itching in the back of my mind. I don't suppose any of you have opinions about it? 

Oh yes, I cannot believe I forgot to mention this, but Hank gave me an ultrasound to measure the baby and find out how far along I was yesterday. And something just seems different. I wouldn't say wrong. But different. After he detected the baby's heartbeat, he said it was double the beat pace of a normal heart. However, the baby sounded far from being in distress. So, he took that device (monitor-what ever it's called) and searched around.

Anyway, he finally got a good picture of it and he said it looked to be at least eleven weeks instead of the six I had originally told him I thought I was. The thing is, my fellow bloggers, that would not match up at all with when Erik and I had sex (and no, I did NOT cheat). But the baby is far more developed than it should be at this stage. Is it possible that it has some form of mutation that brings on rapid growth? Hank is requiring for me to have a scan every other day for the next two weeks or until we can prove otherwise. I decided not to share that bit of information with Erik for the moment. I don't want to cause alarm unless I absolutely must.

You already know enough about me, Charles. I showed you what I can do to the humans, and I even offered what I can do to authorities. You think of me as a monster, but I'm also able to lot the child you carry... I'll leave, yes, but I won't give up. For the few you kow about me, you can guess I don't usually ask for the things I wish *moves closer - suddenly kisses Charles* more likely I take by force. But you're different, Charles... I'll make sure you listen about me again.

*shoves Victor off of him and stumbles back* That was highly inappropriate! How dare you! I am practically married. I gave you no incentive nor reason to-to kiss me! *folds arms and looks away* I don't think you should return or continue to contact me. I can assuredly take care of my children on my own if I had to but I won't. Erik will return. He always does. And perhaps your physical strength is far greater than mine but my mental strength surpasses yours greatly. I will never be yours, Victor. I apologize for being so harsh about it, but it seems as if I can get it into your brain no other way. Now, I must really be going to bed. It's not healthy for me to get all uptight and overwhelmed while carrying a child. Especially this early on in its gestation. I apologize but I insist you leave now and never return. I do not want to have to resort to other measures to keep this restrain.

As if you couldn't see it by yourself *points own head* I could say many things, but the only I really mean is: leave Erik, leave everything and come with me. Your children will be my children and together we can grow a strong, powerful family. If Erik himself don't trust his powers, you also shouldn't, Charles. *comes closer of Charles' chair* You need someone to protect you and your family, keep the real monsters... *whispers* outside. *touches Charles' hand*

I don’t even know you, Victor. *pulls hand away* And I love Erik. I always have. He’s just worried about me. With the girls, I nearly died, it’s completely understandable in my book why he is acting the way he is right now. I may not like it, but I understand. He’s been through a lot. More than anyone should in their lives. Erik is more than capable of protecting our family. He’s done so since we met in 1963. He needs a lot of work, yes, but he loves me and the children and I know he’ll love this baby too. He just needs time. *looks away* Perhaps you should leave, Victor. I haven’t much more to say.

Frighten her? Nonsense. *shakes head* See, she gonna grow up surrounded by all forms of mutations, it's better the little ones to get used at it, not to mention... I don't think you'd like someone else to know you're receiving visits this late, or am I wrong? You know, people could think, and god forbid your husband to know about our friendship. I mean... *winks an eye* if Erik ever come back. Some men just hates responsabilities. But I don't run from mine. *narrow eyes*

*kisses Ruth's forehead and whispers in her ear* Why don't you go back to your room, love, and I'll come right up there and tuck you in, hm?" *watches as Ruth pulls back and looks at Victor for a moment before sliding of Charles' lap and toddles back towards her room* Erik left because he was afraid he would lose control of his powers and injure someone if his anger got out of hand. What he did was for the sake of his family's safety, not for his own gain. *takes another sip of tea* I don't feel very well, Victor, so please do hurry up with whatever you wish to convey to me so I can go lie down.

*sips at tea* 24 hours of absence is time enough for me. *eyes Ruth* hey, hello, Ruth *smiles at her, showing a lot of sharp teeth, and waves a hand at her, showing big claws* Your dad is right, no monsters here at all. I mean, no one who are planning to eat little girls... That would be terrible. Maybe eat someone else, but happens I could break my teeth because he is rather skinny and coarse. *eyes Charles* ... and no one here is able to stop me, right?

Enough, Victor. *frowns deeply as Ruth hides her face in his shoulder* I agreed to talk to you for ten minutes and it's been nearly fifteen.She's just a child. I do not appreciate you trying to frighten her. *rubs Ruth's back continuing to hold her close* Hank is still awake. I can sense him up in the lab. Please do not force me to resort to calling him down here. Harassing me is one thing but frightening my children is something I take highly offensive.

*stands soon Charles returns with the tea* No need to pretend you don't know my intentions, Charles. We are both adults and mutants here, and were Erik a better man for you, he'd be here, instead god-knows-where. *touches Charles' chin - hisses at him*

*takes a step back away from Victor's grasp* I put two sugar cubes in your tea since you didn't really clarify how many you'd prefer. *sits down and lifts his own cup to lips* And I know your intentions very well, Mr. Creed. I am a telepath after all. However, that does not mean I intend on acting upon them. *places his cup down* Erik will return soon enough. He merely left because he did not want his anger to spur his powers. He-

"Dada?"

*looks behind him to see Ruth standing there rubbing tiredly at her eyes* Darling, what are you doing up? *turns away from Victor and holds out his arms. Ruth hurries into them* Did you have a bad dream, love?

"Yeah" *she rubs her eyes and frowns* "Monstews."

*holds her close* It was just a dream, dearest. Monsters aren't real. I promise. *notices she's eyeing Victor and clears his throat* Ruth, this is a...friend of daddy's. Mr. Creed.
