One year. Twelve Months. Three hundred sixty-five days. Eight-thousand seventy hours.
Which each passing moment, her hands became stiff on her staff. Too long had it been since she last saw him. But with that thought of him, she blew out the last candle in the room, allowing herself to sit in the darkness - her companion for that time.
Yet, she knew the reason why she did this. Again into hiding, she decided one faithful day, for she knew the danger that came her way. However, it wasn’t her selfishness that led her into that situation this time; no, it was something, someone that made her more cautious than she had ever been.
She would not let him know that though. If anyone even knew, they assumed it was for her own safety, for the organization’s sake. She left them to decide.
Now, she listened to the clock tick until it was past midnight, where the darkness outside could conceal her movements further. Quickly, she sprang up and began to his location. Perhaps to tell him, or to let him question the motive behind her “death.”
Or perhaps my own selfishness. In an instant she pushed that thought aside and pulled the hood of her cloak over her head. She made no effort to conceal her staff when she knocked twice on the door.
“Oh, won’t you let me in, Crimson Reaper?”
A visitor came. Vladimir raised an eyebrow, surprised. One would think by now people had already learned to stay clear of his property, before something bad happens to them.
He opened the door and saw a slender figure. His attention was immediately drawn to the crystal staff in her hand. He knew that staff.
“LeBlanc?” He asked, almost certain that this was an impostor. Almost.
