Hi howdy hello! My name is Toonie Cogsworth, I'm the assistant regional manager for C.O.G.S INC. Very lovely to meet you.
Ooc under cut
Waking up in the morning Cogsworth was greeted with a heavy, musical kiss on the cheek: this wasn't uncommon but this kiss was different, more symbolic.
Dave sauntered off into the kitchen instructing his wife to stay where they were, that he was gonna make breakfast today.
Sitting up in bed Toonie wondered why Dave was being extra lovey today, checking her calendar she figured out why, it was mothers day. So thats why shes being pampered this early! When Dave came back into the room he presented his darling baby blue with their breakfast: toast with butter and jam, a side of strawberry yogurt and a warm cup of hot chocolate. Their favorite!
Enjoying the morning gift Dave watched Toonie lovingly, when it was all done Dave took the tray of empty kitchenware and took it off to be cleaned later. Getting out of bed Cogsworth stretched and started to get dressed ready for the day.
"Now I've taken the la-ba-de-da-liberty of letting aaaaaalllll of your swinging contacts know that I'm taking you for a swinging skim around town for mothers day. I've got a whole dibidy day planned for ya, my jiving jellyfish.~"
"Oh Dave... You're too good for me y'know?"
"Hush! You're gonna have a great day babes, don't you worry 'bout it at all!"
Once dressed and ready the two headed out for Dave's first chosen stop, The Musical Master of Melody, where a certain someone liked to reside as it was big enough to fit them.
Through the front door, up the elevator to the 3rd floor and down the hall till they reached the third door on the left, right next to Dave's photo adorned office door, was The Understudy's room. Knocking twice with rhythm there wasn't even a second of waiting before it was pulled open and the outrageously tall cog scooped both managers inside with a hug.
"HAPPY MOTHERS DAY MAMA! Ohhhhhhh I'm so glad you were the one to be my mummy dearest!" Putting their parents down Starshine got even more excited, "Oh! Oh! Stay there, I'll be right back! I got you something good!"
Rushing off to a separate room in the seemingly impossibly large space they went to collect something special.
"I always forget how excited they get, gets me dizzy day danya." Dave shook his head as he leaned on Cogsworth for stability until his gyroscope resettled.
Coming bounding back like a giant puppy Understudy held something clasped in two of their hands, kneeling on the floor they opened them in front of Toonie. Cupped in their oversized palm was a bouquet of hand made flowers, a gift that will never wilt.
"Happy mothers day mummy dearest, thank you for being the one to bring me into this world."
Toonie looked just about ready to cry, carefully scooping up and cradling the bouquet in their arms they quivered, admiring every fabric petal, every lovingly crafted stem. It must of taken Starshine hours to make with such large fingers, but yet such delicate claws like their mother had.
"Oh Starshine.. They're beautiful! Thank you so much! These are going right on my desk so I can always look at something so gorgeous!" The blue and yellow flowers shifted in their grasp as they wrapped an arm around their child's large hand, immediately being scooped up and pressed against their warm cheek, their metal cheek plate burning warm just like their mothers.
Placing her back down the three of them talked together for a while before deciding it was time to head off, however before the couple could exit the door swung open without any warning, walking in proudly was High Roller, meandering behind him was Snappy. The two boys- mostly High Roller -excitedly proclaimed "Happy mothers day!" before High Roller wrapped Toonie up in a crushing hug.
"Happy Motherff day Cogffworth!" Putting them back down she slipped something into his mothers hand.
Opening to see what had been slipped into their palm Toonie gasped.
"A keychain?! And it's got a picture of all of us on it awwwwhhhh~" they slipped it into their pocket so they wouldn't lose it, "Thanks Rollie, it's very sweet of you!"
She slipped an arm over the back of High Roller's fluffy neck to pull him down into a hug before looking to Snappy.
He opted to stare at the floor or the wall before catching her gaze, shyly adverting his eyes before nervously shuffling his foot.
"Mghrh... Happy... Mothers day Cogsworth..." He shoved his hands into his pockets before earning a sharp nudge from High Roller. "Ow! Okay, okay! Fine! Fuck...."
He pulled a rather heavily folded piece of paper from his pocket and uncrumpled it best he could, holding it up to Toonie's view.
"It's... Uh.. Its stupid but.. I hope you like it.."
It was a rather well done drawing of Toonie, the skill level was that of a learning teenagers but regardless it had come from someone Toonie loved.
"I know I'm an adult and my drawing sucks but I really didn't know what else to get you.. Im sor-" Snappy was cut off from a sudden hug, Cogsworth had given Dave the flowers so she could hold Snappy tightly. He was short so she had dropped to her knees, Snappy was surprised at the sudden affection but quickly returned the hug.
His tail wagged behind him as he buried his snout in her shoulder, he would never admit how touch starved he was all the time.
"Thank you Snappy, I absolutely love it. You're improving and I'm so proud of you."
"Thanks ma..."
Understudy shifted for a moment weighing their options before giving in, "Ohhhhh lemme get in on this!"
With a cacophonous thud they dropped to their knees and joined in the hug, using a third and fourth arm to bring in Dave and High Roller.
The embrace was warm and loving as the family just knelt there for a while, when they parted ways they all opted to sit and talk for a while, relishing in their family time.
Understudy spoke highly of different stories, Dave reminisced about different shows he had done, High Roller recounted all the ideas he had for family shows, and Snappy sat quietly with a smile just enjoying spending time with his family.
This was the best mother's day Toonie could ask for.

Oh for the love of cog not again..
Ah valentines day... Or i guess, valentoons?
It sure is a day! I got caught up with work again but Dave came to see me in my office and finally convinced me to take my lunch break and dragged me out of the office, we had an absolutely stunning time walking around the streets, even the simplest of actions is so wonderful to me with hymm
I hope everyone has a wonderful evening even if you don't celebrate.
I hope those rediculous cards aren't floating around again...
Well would you look at that! Another buildday has come around. Strange to think ive spent 22 years around the sun. Maybe this year I'll finally take a well needed break after working myself to the metal bone, literally! I think i wore my fingers down a bit far from all this work. I'll get it fixed dont worry :)
She'd step into the office, looking awkward and out of place. "..." Misty stared at Toonie for a moment, then looked to her left... Then her right. She cleared her throat. "I've been told to meet someone here, but I think I've gone to the wrong building. Is this- uh." Pausing, she takes out a slip of paper from her pocket with smudged handwriting on it. "The office of- (pausing to squint at the paper) - Toonie Cogsworth? I'm um, I've been looking to introduce myself more. I was told I would have luck here. If here is the right place, of course."
@misty-rainmaker-monsoon
The office was rather tidy, a large window making up majority of the left wall, countless filing cabinets lining the right, the desk in the middle of the end of the room housed the titular cog inhabiting the room as they wrote something on a notepad.
Hearing her throat clear they looked up, glasses halfway down their nose from looking down, pushing them up they smiled warmly at Misty.
"Mx Monsoon, so lovely to see you! You're in the right place." Standing up from their desk they walked over to her and offered their hand for a handshake, their fingers ending in sharp claw like points. "I've seen you around a few times but never had a moment to properly talk with you."
They spoke with such a friendly attitude as if they've met her before, none the less they were rather pleased to have Misty in their presence. Getting to see them a bit closer they were the same height as Misty- if not a couple inches taller -baring brunette hair and adorned in metal plating in various symmetrical places, a low glow of blue emitting from their mouth when they spoke.
"Oh!" Misty breathes a small, puffy cloud of relief that floats out from under her mask to drift around the room, stepping closer to the desk while her dog Nimbus can finally be heard trotting by her side. She takes Toonie's hand and gives it a firm shake, nodding her head once. "I've not seen a cog like you before. Still, um, it's a pleasure meeting you. Where've you seen me before?-" And naturally, that would be a concern, to know someone has seen you without you seeing them. But then again, most cogs just boiled her down to a worrier of things.
Once the handshake ended they put their hands on their hips, warm smile never leaving their face.
"Out and about during field work, I'm not always so cooped up in my office like people think!" A hearty chuckle came from them, "I've only passed you a few times, I try not to stick around on streets too much. Bit hard when you're not equipped with the same tools as everyone else, I can't exactly just fly everywhere so I'm stuck on the ground."
They shrugged before turning to their desk for a moment to look it over, occasionally glancing at the little dog with warmth in their eyes.
"Would you like to sit down? Or would a walk and talk be more preferable? I'm not doing much either way."
Misty's hands go back to holding themselves while she stares Toonie down, swaying only a little as they ramble on. "I've never met a cog without an internal pack. You'll want to speak to maintenance about that. Get it fixed." It was an attempt to be polite, though it likely just came off as insensitive. Though Misty nodded, and the way their eyes scrunched a little was a good indicator that she was smiling under that big mask of theirs. "I do like a good walk and talk. Though I don't know what to talk about. Usually I'm the one doing the talking, so it's kind of funny that I don't know what to talk about now."
They shrugged as they glanced to the side vaguely at her concern.
"Maybe, I've been grounded for so long I stopped seeing it as an issue honestly, just means I get to work my joints more." They returned their gaze to her for a moment with a smile before gazing back to the dog, despite being such a high ranking cog they really didn't do eye contact.
"Walk and talk it is!" Heading to the door at the other end of the rather comically long office they motioned for her to follow, "That's alright if you don't know what to talk about, if you wanna know more about me or talk work I'm happy with whatever! Or silence works too, I'm really not picky, it's just nice to get out of the office with someone else."
As Toonie walked, Misty followed, keeping her eyes seemingly glued onto the other cog while only occasionally glancing to see what was ahead of her. "You already know things about me, if you've seen me before. Tell me about you. You don't look like any cog I've seen before." And funnily enough, as they walked, Nimbus would move over to the side to sniff at them before returning to walk by Misty's side. "When did you arrive at Toon Town? Or are you factory made..."
Toonie slowed to walk by Misty's side, wanting to appear more as a friend rather than a higher up manager, looping their thumbs into their pants pockets casually.
"Boy where do I begin?" They looks wistfully up for a moment as they reminisced about life, "Well to start off I was built here to work in the mail room, unlike other cogs I know I wasn't exactly given a childhood, built as an adult soley to work, I went from sorting mail to an intern for a few years, when the manager hiring began I applied and got given the position of Assistant Regional Manager- which I guess is above Mary and Holly but still below everyone else below that? Or maybe equal? I don't fully know. I don't like thinking about it. -and now here I am almost 22 years later still doin my thing! I've seen a lot go on, changing of the entire boardbot team, hiring of managers, so many staff changes.... It's a very eventful life im leading!"
"Found out a lot about myself both personally and professionally, and internally I suppose. Found out majority of my existence is testing experimental features such as a string of code that makes it impossible for me to not follow orders given, it burns if I try to refuse, my fingers are glorified stanley knives basically, my canine teeth are actually designed as staple pullers which I've grown to embrace instead of feel shame for- don't be surprised if you ever see me at a cork board pulling staples out with my teeth, it's what they're designed for. -heck I'll be celebrating my third wedding anniversary very soon!" They beamed at her for a moment, pure joy resonating from them.
"I could honestly go on and on about myself but I think I've yapped your ear off for a moment, so I'll save anything else for a bit later if you're still interested."
While they've walked both of them have ended up outside Boardbot HQ, now standing in the courtyard of the entry behind the do-not-cross signs.
"oh-" Misty was silent as Toonie spoke, though even when she tried, she didnt catch almost everything they said. She would return the smiles given, and she nodded her head as if she was following along- when in reality, everything was blurring together in an overwhelming mess.. "Right. Right.." Her speakers hummed and her fans buzzed as she processed what she did hear, tapping her fingertips against her hip while staring Toonie down. Finally, she blinked. A movement she had to focus on doing. "Um. Yes, I am still interested! Umm. Your wedding... Wedding! Who are you- Who, uh... Married to?" Nimbus sneezed as if embarrassed by Misty. She's trying sooo so hard right now I promise.
Toonie's smile slowly drooped when they realized they probably talked way too fast and way too much all at once.
"Oh geez, I-I'm so sorry! I spoke too fast didn't I? Sorry, I don't get to yap as often as I'd like to." They rubbed the back of their neck nervously.
Hearing the new question about their relationship a small smile spread across their face, their tone much softer and slower compared to their rather energetic block of words.
"Dave Brubot, he's by far the best thing to ever happen to me." They absentmindedly played with the black banded ring around their finger lovingly.
Hearing Nimbus sneeze they quietly gave a 'bless you', feeling it was the polite thing to do.
Misty just shook her head a little and waved her hand to dismiss Toonie's apology, glancing away for a half moment- that was, until her question was answered. "Dave Brubot?- Major Player??- I didn't know he was married, I thought he and Buck- Oh- Oh. You must be talking about one of his replacements." It was safe to assume that Misty was referring to the counterparts as replacements. "Well, that's wonderful! I'm happy for you. I hope all will go well." Her hair darkened and she looked away as if she had a thought, tapping her fingers on her hip again." "...Is there another me there? Um- Here? I'm sorry, this is confusing."
"The one I'm married to isn't a replacement, I think? I think it's more... Districts or something. It's really confusing.. That's why it might seem like I've met you before but you haven't met me. I'm not quite sure how to explain it without sounding absolutely whacko, I don't think there's more than one of me, that's why I seem so foreign to you."
"I won't get much into the nitty gritty of it all, I've been around for a long while.. Seen people come and go somehow."
"Oh.. So I see. Alright.." Misty hummed uncertainly and nodded, shifting her weight from foot to foot. "I think I understand. That's a lot of.. Everything. i'm no good at remembering things." She hummed before looking back up at the other, it's unclear if she's waiting for them to keep talking or not. She just kind of stands there and stares...
Moving their hands from their pockets to their hips they also just kind of stood there, looking around at things.
"So.. I kinda yapped your ear off a bit too much, and with this new information you've got why dont you tell me a few things about yourself..? I'd love to get to know you."
Misty perked up only slightly when they spoke again, taking a brief look around their area "Mm. Well- Let's uh.. I don't know where to start. I mean, you know my name. My job.. Um." She shuffles awkwardly and tilts her head from side to side- Toonie being able to see for just the briefest fraction of a second that the lower half of her face is incomplete, wires, pistons, and other mechanisms exposed and rust-speckled. "I mainly spend a lot of time at home, with my friends, or walking the streets. Mother- Uhm. You probably know her, mizz Diane? Um- I mean, here, at least. I've seen other's of her, they're definitely nicer then mine is- Let me stop. Okay- So, she usually takes care of what I do in a day's work. Then I'll usually go get like, I dont know, pizzas or something with Flint and Graham when they're done with work, or Mary will let me come over and spend the night, or- or even sometimes I'll go over to Cathals, and- Oh, oh, sorry, okay, let me stop there. After saying more in one long, rambling speech then Toonie had heard her utter this entire time, Misty sort of shuts down and awkwardly stares at them once more.
Nodding along to everything she said they paid the upmost attention, drinking in every detail given, mental notes being taken and figuring out how to adapt to her as she spoke as to make sure in the future they didn't accidentally scare her.
"You consider Ms Morsecode a mother figure too? Wondrous! The one I know is probably different to the one you know, I haven't seen her for a while though.."
Listening further to what she does in a work day they smiled gently, something they seemed to really enjoy doing today, before speaking again.
"Well, if you ever want to my office door is always open too, if you ever need a change of pace or just want to come say hello, and if I'm not there then theres a good chance I'm probably out on field jobs or assisting at another HQ."
Their eyes for the first time in a while met Misty's, they were glazed in genuine enjoyment of being in her presence, thankful that she had taken the time to come get to know them.
She'd step into the office, looking awkward and out of place. "..." Misty stared at Toonie for a moment, then looked to her left... Then her right. She cleared her throat. A hearty chuckle came from them, "I've only passed you a few times, I try not to stick around on streets too much.
@misty-rainmaker-monsoon
