“Thank you so much Jessie! Am I good to push myself? Because I don’t want to make it worse of course.” She said while blushing, embarrassed that she had smashed up her wheel so much that she was going to have to take it to the garage. She hated having to ask for help, she liked to be able to do things herself without asking for help. “I’m sorry about this by the way, but really, thank you for helping me out.”
Jessie finished up straightening the wheel spokes and pushed the the chair back and forth just an inch to make sure, “Go enough for now, do be really careful and let’s make sure the wheel doesn’t crack before we get inside,” It occurred to Jessie that she didn’t really know how to fix a wheelchair, but there was no better time than the present to learn, especially since this was important for Alia’s movement. Jessie had always seen herself in the field of engineering, designing advancements in accessibility for disabled people, “I’m gonna just push you out of the way of the rocks, then feel free to wheel yourself, okay?”
“Thanks Jessie. I’ll just need help with the ramp. Don’t want to push to hard and break it even more.” She sighed, disappointed in herself for not taking care of the one thing that gives her independence. “I have an instruction booklet for the chair on my computer. It might help explain how to replace the wheel. Only problem is getting the spare wheel. I might have one in my closet?” She explained in a questioning tone. She wasn’t looking to Jessie for answers as much as she was looking for help.

How can I trust you?
You have no way of being sure. But I’ve tried to help you before Uma. I’m not going to stop trying to help anyone I can just because it’s not the ‘proper procedure’. Helping people is about the only thing I can do. I wouldn’t last on the Isle, but I can still help from afar.

And why would you want to help me after everything? Aren’t you supposed to be on Mal’s side?
I’ve never met Mal, and she hasn’t done anything for me or my friends on the Isle. Kids are wasting away and afraid for their lives and she isn’t doing anything. I want to help in a way that will actually effect the way people live.

“Right? So I’m thinking maybe people voted for me, but I just couldn’t win every category, and they had to divide them all up to other students for fairness. I’m shorter though, my daddy said so.”

“Oh it’s fine, I’ve been great! I’m making new friends and working on various….projects with Grandfather Merlin.” She said vaguely, not daring to say that they were working on spells together. She didn’t know how Cole felt about the magic ban, so telling him was out of the question…for now. “What about you Cole? Anything new going on it your life since we saw each other last?”
Cole wasn’t stupid, he definitely knew who Merlin was. He didn’t much care who practiced magic, as long as it was done safely, and Alia had a known interest in it. She had often surprised him with how adventurous she could get, Cole expected her to at least have good knowledge of it, “Aside from my bones not working? My business is going well. Now that I have a car, I can go further distances, people are coming to me for birthdays, housewarmings, other milestone events. I’m doing a wedding this weekend. All thanks to you, hon,” He poked the top of her head with a smirk. Alia had been the one to give him his first real catering job in Auradon.
“Oh you do it all yourself, I just gave you a chance to show how fantastic you can be.” She said with a smile, excited about her friends business. “I know that you are going to go far with this Cole, everyone in Auradon knows how wonderful your baked goods are!” She said enthusiastically, remembering how many people had asked her after her birthday to give them the name of the baker that had made her delicious food. “I know how you feel with the bones, my back has been getting worse and worse since I came to school. Mother says it’s because I get to excited but I think that might be a little bit old fashioned.”

Alia stopped suddenly, feeling one side of her body dip down. She knew that wasn’t right, she had changed her tires last week. No way she needed a new one already. Looking down she saw that her wheel had a crack, and her spokes were bent slightly. Groaning, she got out he phone took find someone to call and come an get her, when she heard he name being called. She turned around and squinted as the figure got closer. “Yes, it is I. How may I help you? Although I might not be of much help at the moment.”
“Alia! Alia!” Jessie chased after the girl, trying to stop her before messing up the wheel further. She’d been watching from a distance, unsure if she should stop Alia from going on the sidewalk, and had been much too late to warn her about the debris from the construction nearby, “I should’ve warned you about all that. It’s okay, I can fix it,” Jessie removed the rocks caught in the wheel spokes, causing them to get stuck and bent, before squeezing her strong, metal arm around the spokes to get them to straighten again, “Er, that’ll at least get us inside, for now. I can fix it for you for real in the garage.”

“It would make me feel better if you would let me help you across the field at least. I would worry otherwise.” She said nervously. She would hate to roll away and have him fall down without her around to help. She wanted him to let her help, at least for a little while, for both his and her sake. “It’s just to your dorm right? We can go over there and then I will leave you too it okay?”
“Heh, thank you, Alia, I do really appreciate it,” He starts to lean on the handlebars of her chair, resting more weight on his arms than his legs. God, he felt like a kid goose-stepping around the house again. It was a little humiliating, though he probably shouldn’t complain to someone who’s legs couldn’t work at all, “How’ve you been since the last time we hung out? Sorry I didn’t get to see you at the dance.”

“No, that’s a bit excessive for something that will get no wear. I mean it’s not like I use them a lot, ya know? Because I’m in a chair?” She laughed, she supposes she can’t blame her for thinking she has something like that, plenty of the princes and princesses she knows have closets for shoes. “Well if you would like some clothes, I’m sure you could find something you like in my closet, if you want some that is.”
“Well, sure, but that means you also don’t have to replace clothes that get worn out. You’re so, so lucky. I don’t like, scrounge off other people’s clothes though! We were super well off on the Isle,” Lakhi stops herself at what she thinks is a good balance between flattering a princess and making herself look good. Time to change the subject, “I can’t wait for the dance, though!”
“I know, the dance is going to be so much fun! I’ve not been to one in a while but I truly enjoy them. They are great when you are around friends.” She said happily, clapping her hands to show her excitement. She really missed going to dances sometimes. “What will you be wearing to the dance?”

Alia rolled over to Cole, making sure to get close enough that he could lean on her chair before locking her wheels. She didn’t want to roll away before he had a chance to gain his balance. “Hey Cole, need a ride?” She said softly as he leaned on her chair. She was nervous for her friend, he looked like he was in pain, and if she couldn’t use her legs to help, she could at least use her wheels. Besides, she had given plenty of rides before.
Cole winced a little, holding his side as if to keep his muscles physically in place. He thought the offer was a joek at first, so it provides him a little much-needed laughter and actually kind of lightens the mood.
“Heh, not a ride, but could I kinda lean on the bar-handle-section-thing?” He gestures oddly to the handles on the back of her chair, completely forgetting what they’re called in his pain. With a short little sigh, he regains his balance and leans on the handle as an armrest, though it’s clear one leg is going to hurt more to walk on than the other, “Actually, I think I’ll be alright. I must’ve slept on my leg weird, or something.”

{Open Starter - Here We Go Again}
Erika sat in the empty music room after classes, having decided to perform a song for the showcase. The idea of Castlecoming was almost terrifying compared to what happened last time, and almost half of the people who she worked alongside to try and fix things were hopefully gone now, were now gone. Leaving her to only hope that nothing awful would happen this time. She still heard the sirens’ song in her mind, she hated it, she hated seeing those people incapacitated. Thankfully, while she was in this room, alone, she channeled her emotions and frustrations in her music.
Sitting at the piano, the ghost girl proceeded to pluck a few keys and sing to herself. When performing, it was as though she was a different person entirely. She could own a stage and influence an audience with a charm and charisma that she barely had other times, when she sang there was no stutter, it was just Erika in her purest form. Something she wanted to be more often. She belted our the lyrics proudly, her glowing heart providing a beat for her alongside the piano she was playing. For a moment, she was absorbed in the music, her worries draining away. Until she noticed someone in the corner of her eye and immediately stopped singing.
“H-How Long were you here?!”
“Not too long really. I just came to practice, but you were playing so beautifully that I could bare to stop you.” She said, rolling up to Erika’s side slowly. She didn’t want to startle the girl any further than she already had. She loved to play very much, but she didn’t think that she could ever play anything as beautiful as what Erika could play. “Could you teach me the song that you were playing, I don’t think I’ve ever heard it before. If your are not too busy of course.”
Erika felt a soft, purple blush coat her cheeks as she was greeted with compliments from her friend. It was only a few seconds and the ghostly performer with a powerful voice, releasing so many emotions, closed back up into her usual self.
“Y-You wa-want me to t-teach you..?” She asked, a little bit surprised. Though, she was honored! Nobody had asked her to teach her things aside from some little ghost children in the mansion wanting ballet lessons. Eventually, a small smile appeared on her face and she nodded, “s-Sure!” She spoke. “I wrote it myself, a-actually..”
“You wrote that yourself?! That’s amazing Erika! I’ve never heard anything like that before, but that’s obviously because you wrote it!” She said excitedly. She was so excited that her friend was willing to teach her some things to help her with music. It’s exciting. She lets out a muffled shriek of excitement, not wanting to scare Erika away.

Uma raised her brow at the girl. “I’m anything but popular around the Isle. But I don’t really care so it’s not like in trying to find popular people. This whole things is about one singular person. ”
“Well if you lost trust in them then I guess they aren’t worth being a friend.” She say’s matter of factually.
