Saving a dying AU

So, I'm a person on the internet who loves Axetale. I was distraught when I heard this AU was being discontinued, so me and a few friends are taking up the mantle as the writers, check out BannanFrappe and her posts and I'll be here.

This is mostly an Ask and lore blog, I'll do my best to answer any questions in a way that I think the characters would answer and in a way that is respectful to the original works.

Feel free to make music, fan art or anything else, if you see this please ask any questions to any character.

Hey Sans and Aliza, have either of you two thought to try and go to Aerie to find any resources or food? if so, would you have any way of reaching there?

“only went there once; the place is just empty of just about everything. it probably ran out of food and anything remotely useful the moment any of its residents vanished. not a single soul was in sight when i was up there.”

Hey Sans, can you tell me (and Aliza if she wants to hear) more about your memories with your wife? If you're pleased with that of course

Sans gave a gentle glance as he recalled.

“yeah, i’m alright with it.”

“frisk and i had our first date during an event in the waterfall known as the lantern festival. bit of a thing where the locals would light lanterns and float them to the top of the cavern walls to light the sky as stars. they didn’t have the night sky on the surface, but created one of their own every year to give hope that they would see the real one.”

“frisk was dying for me to go with her all week at that time. it was also the week when i… confessed my feelings to her. now i didn’t go out and do things often. but my schedule was free besides sleeping half the day off, and i really wanted to spend time with her. throughout the night, i pretty much did whatever she wanted to do; she did all the planning for our night out. i’ll never forget the way she smiled that night as we did festivities together.”

“then the time came to light lanterns and float them in the sky. when we did it, we were under a whole pavilion on the outskirts of the city. the view was beautiful, and it just felt magical being there alone with her…”

Aliza gives a sly smile.

“I assume you two kissed that night?”

Sans looks at his daughter gently

“…now that, is a story for another day.”

I'm confused. Is Ruby the real Frisk, or is Ruby like an assistant to Frisk, in a similar sense? Are they just one being? Or did Frisk reincarnate as a butterfly? I don't get how this works...

Ruby is Frisk, the remnants of her soul, and is her consciousness.

She is also Aliza's familiar, a guide that can only be seen by magic-sensitive beings (being monsters and sorcerers (half-human, half-monster hybrids)).

When Frisk gave birth to Aliza, her effort and will to ensure her daughter's survival drained her power, causing her to die after giving birth. However, her soul remains one of pure determination, and even when it was shattered, a large remnant (Ruby) lived on.

Consider Ruby (Frisk) and Aliza's souls connected. If Ruby were to get squished or be injured, it would hurt Aliza. Eventually, Ruby would be regenerated, because the two siphon off each other's power.

How would (before the hunger) Sans react when he gets jealous when someone is flirting with Frisk from the past? How about in the present time, if some scavengers saw a pic of Frisk saying something about her in a way that is eroticized? Would Sans react differently?

1. Sans would get reasonably defensive, but deep down, he would know Frisk wouldn't sway for anyone due to their special soul connection.

2. Sans will probably make things very personal when he starts feeding his family again. Imagine a fate worse than the flesh on your body being peeled off like a kebab until you eventually turn to dust on his shed floor (if he saw).

Did Undyne and Alphys ever bond their souls before? They had known each other longer than Sans and Frisk.

No. They were still dating at the time before Alphys died, so they didn’t get the chance to bond their souls together.

Undyne regrets this deeply, not having the chance to marry the woman she loved so deeply.

Does magic still exist underground since the Hunger began? So far, I've noticed that Sans is the only one who can use magic when affected by the Hunger, as seen when he summons his axe. The other monsters rely on physical means for survival. For example, Undyne uses a physical spear for hunting instead of her magical spears.

Yes, magic still exists in the Underground. Sans can use it sparingly to summon the axe, use telekinesis (sparingly) or to teleport short distances. This is because utilizing his magic now puts unnecessary strain on his soul.

The reason most if not all monsters do not use magic simply comes down to keeping themselves from danger. Other monsters close by can sense expelled magic and become alerted to the presence of the casting Monster’s location.

This is especially dangerous in places like waterfall where giving your location away is essentially suicide.

A strong Monster like Undyne would alert the Temmies almost immediately if she used her spears.

Sans stares at the shotgun now sitting in his hands.

His left eye socket droops in mild annoyance at the inefficient tool left in his hand.

“y’know this thing’s too loud, right? it’ll alert every monster left in this place. not to mention doggo. too much trouble for no reward. plus, i can’t get any meat out of it.”

He looks back down at the loaded weapon, then at the axe.

“in any case, the axe is just more versatile and easy to use. thanks for the gun though. who knows? it might come in handy someday.”

Does Aliza’s eyes change color to anything else besides Red, Orange, or blue?

Yes, Aliza’s eyes change color based on the emotion or trait she is displaying at the time.

There are seven soul traits; Patience (cyan), Bravery (orange), Integrity (blue), Perseverance (purple), Kindness (green), and Justice (yellow).

Which characters that are available to be interact with? What I mean by that is who are we allowed to ask specifically? Since so far we mostly only interacted Sans, Aliza, Undyne, and Papyrus.

Mostly all of them.

Those who are dead cannot be interacted with because, again, they’re dead.

Characters from Undertale Yellow are all good too, I already have them as a canon in my version.

Martlet is dead, having wandered into Sans’ territory after years of starvation and degradation of her mind.

Are there any Steam elementals? And if so, then where do they live?

There are no Steam elementals, unless you mean water elementals, then yes there were at one point.

They mostly lived inside Coastharbor but some would venture into the Echoflower Swamp or even as far as Mistveil to attend mass.

Now, the only remaining member of the Water Elemental subspecies is The Priest.

Other monsters or her dad would eat anything that grows regardless of if it just sprouted or not. They couldn’t mentally handle it.

Hello! Can we talk to Undyne and give her things? If so, Hi Undyne, um here's a cup of noodles and a pack of meat! Also how are you doing?

The supplies drop into the infected waters, she immediately pounces at the sound of the water rippling, tearing through the meat… but she stops at the noodles… it was her favorite meal.

Undyne cradles the soggy noodles in her arms before the Hunger strikes her again as she devours the noodles.

Does Aliza's eyes glow in the dark normally? In any eye color?

Yes, her eyes do glow in the dark in any color that she’s feeling at the moment.
