I believe what they were trying to imply that the fact they are trans is not canon whatsoever, however their attempt to say such was thwarted as rude, which it somewhat was.

Honestly, I don’t mind trans AUs and stuff like that but trans headcanons are rather silly at times IMO (if you want to headcanon that, that’s up to you and is honestly beyond my control)

However, also consider this, you say John is trans as a headcanon or some kind of cool little tid-bit to the character, but think of it this way: How does that display trans people? Headcanoning transgender identities seems almost like you are trying to display it as some kind of fashion statement. I’m not saying you are saying that, but when a trans headcanon is displayed, you’re kind of romanticizing transgenders.

It’s like having a transgender kink (which is by the way a BIG NO-NO, like, DAMN) because you’re saying you prefer trans people. You prefer people that are uncomfortable with their biological gender. Which, is pretty fucked up.

I think a bit of consideration needs to be thought through before headcanoning transgender identities onto characters.
