I’ve waited months for the bubbly little vampire to come back, but the muse is unfortunately gone.   Adrian simply tilted his head at that, brows knitted in wonder why she was laughing. It was quite refreshing to hear her laugh, but he couldn’t grasp the point of it. Still, he forced himself mild bubbles of laughter, but they sounded so wrong in contrast to the lack of amusement in his emerald eyes. He wished he could have done more. 

While she spoke, Adrian stood up and shuffled towards his bed, grabbing some small articles from his bedside drawer. “Everything about you.” He peered over his shoulder then shifted his gaze back to the pieces of paper on the table. His attention span was instantly shaken and he called out, “Hey, hey. I want to show you something.” He grinned proudly this time, laying out the piece of paper on the nightstand. It was a clumsily drawn image of a house—with a red door and white picket fence. 

"For you." He pushed the paper towards her with a small frown on his face, keeping his gaze away from the blonde as he muttered. "Because… because you have a pretty smile."

Caroline was stumped. What could she tell him about herself? Still, the blonde indulged him; just glad that she got to spend some one on one time with her husband. She settled into the seat across from him, crossing one leg over the other and leaning forward.  "Well, I was Miss Mystic Falls - kinda like the reigning pageant queen of my hometown." She grinned - some may say bringing this up was just her reliving the glory days, but it was what she was when Adrian met her. "Now I'm an events manager - which isn't too much of a surprise..." Caroline trailed off as she watched Adrian get up; her eyes on him as he shuffled through pages before finding the one he wanted. She took it from him, her signature bright grin illuminating her face as tears welled in her eyes. "It's our home." The blonde whispered. "Thank you."
