Taxis Vs Uber in Portugal
Watching the news about Portugal a few minutes ago I came across another Uber Vs Taxis moment. The president of ANTRAL, a taxi association mentioned his disagreement on the legislation of LEGALIZING PLATFORMS LIKE UBER. This link gives the general idea of what I looked at http://www.theportugalnews.com/news/taxi-drivers-challenge-uber-legalisation/39161 Taxi drivers in Portugal are becoming increasingly reckless in their behavior towards Uber drivers. Assaults have been reported, Uber cars have been vandalized, Uber customers reported witnessing bully tactics employed by the cabbies, you name it. Meanwhile whoever takes a taxi can see one of the following happen, and witnessed by several people: -people who know their way around town have noticed the taxi going in circles (to fatten the fare)-excuses not to pass a reciept (no reciept, no tax fee for them)-incorrect change (like, pay 20€ for a 5€ fare and the cabbie trying to give you only 10€ in change) and I'm not even reaching the behavior of the cabbies towards their own customers making general chit chat (because it's subjective) Considering all the points, Uber sounds like a more reasonable choice, ESPECIALLY when you do your research about it. Yeah, the Taxi associations did as well, and they know their service can't keep being this shitty for long with platforms like this around. Now, since they like INSISTING UBER IS ILLEGAL and wanting to keep it that way, I will bring to the table another activity considered illegal that still brought much benefit to people in general even for those who don't practice it: Piracy Yes, illegal content sharing provided a huge benefit for the global community by forcing the Record, Film and Game industries to adapt. Couple this with the proliferation of the internet and we got the following -Music piracy brought us online music stores and music streaming services-Film piracy brought us Netflix and other video on demand streaming services like at home video rental.-Game piracy brought us way more outlets like Steam, GOG, Humble Bundle, Origin, Uplay or Desura By providing easy and unrestricted access to content, people flocked to the internet to get their media fix and created a competition for those industries so strong they were forced to adapt to survive and therefore brought benefits to the consumers in general. Now you see what I think about this Uber Vs Taxis war?

I wanted to try something new by making an animated gif the main image, hopefully to make it more obvious to the passive scrolling by user that there’s an accompanying video. This one is just a quickie with Honoka.
