dottie has always been a follower, absorbing the personality traits of those closest to her in order to chameleon herself into their lives. it's led to a sort of identity crisis nowadays (truly, who is she really?), but she can't stop. she gets caught in the wave of big personalities, feeling safe there. sometimes she's aware she's playing a role that isn't quite who she really is, like when she does into her jealous girlfriend act that feels way more in line with the villain in the you belong with me music video, but she can't stop it.
dottie didn't really like who she was in high school. she considered herself to be nerdy, shy, and painfully awkward and her circle of friends was incredibly small. in order to get a fresh start for college (even though she was still going to be in her hometown), her graduation present to herself was a makeover. straight out of a romcom, she ditched the glasses, got a more flattering haircut, and changed up what she wore.
the one thing that she refused to change from high school, however, was her relationship with brett. it started their sophomore year - he was the first guy to really try and get to know her and she fell hard and fast. her parents ended up putting an end to their relationship for a while, but the heart wants what the heart wants and she wanted the comfort of being in the arms of someone who saw her even when she was invisible. in the end, they've broken up and gotten back together approximately half a million times. it's almost always dottie initiating it and usually related to her fluctuating social status. she knows it's selfish for her to keep dragging him back, especially when she's no longer in love with him, but what if she never finds someone to love her again?
dottie is always trying to improve her social standing at mckinley. though she's been rejected from the cheerios every time she's tried out, she still has hope that she'll make it one day. in the meantime, she's joined the troubletones, which feels to her like it has a similar energy.
dottie is tina's number one fan. it's the one thing she still lets herself be nerdy about. tina's twilight fanfiction is top tier (way better than that trash fifty shades of grey) and dottie leaves a detailed comment comprised of her favorite moments and kudos on each chapter on Ao3.

I revise all of the lectures throughout the semester, then I highlight what I think it going to be the most important criteria. Then I make cue cards and quiz myself until I know every answer without having to think and second-guess. It takes a while, but I've found to be effective. It certainly works better when you have someone else to work off of.
So really I should've been doing the work all semester so that studying could be easier now. I can do flashcards, at least. I feel like those could be helpful for some of my classes. What kinds of stuff do you put on yours? Just definitions or...?

Sleep is for the weak. And by that I mean I am very weak and I'd love to sleep, but I think I've had enough coffee that it might just be impossible.
