No. I ain't gonna do that. You got any idea how advanced that battle technique is? You prepared to deal with the consequences of Triple Truffle Shuffle Trouble? You got two extra versions of me runnin' around right now? You got the right number of elf tears? You got the proper level of pang nectar to fill a suckle receptacle? Kid, you ain't thought none of this through, and I ain't gonna be cajoled into doing something that's supposed to be a last ditch attack just for your poops and laughters.
You know, I honestly'd rather not think about that. Sure, I used to work all by my lonesome, but I wasn't half the detective I am now. Ace and the Inspector have gotten me out of more dicey scrapes than I'd be able to put on paper. Sure, Inspector's a little bit strange, and Ace is a pain in the ass from time to time, but those guys are more than just my colleagues now. They're my friends. We make a hell of a team, and I wouldn't wanna work with any other fellas than those characters, I'll tell ya.
You really questioning my sleuthin' skills? Buddy, I could find anyone or anything faster than you could find the exit door to the afterlife. I could find a needle in a haystack the size of Mount Tegucigalpa. I could locate Waldo, Carmen Sandiego, AND the key to the Felt Mansion cleverly hidden inside a fake rock and still be back to the office to have afternoon tea with the Inspector. Kid, I am a finding FORCE. And as for your shoe? Well it looks like the shoe's....
Hal - One word answer: yes. Okay, I'll be more specific. Yes, I do like anime. Not all anime, just like I don't like all movies or all books, but I do very much enjoy some series and movies. My top three series would be The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Gurren Lagann, and Azumanga Daioh. Right now, I'm in the middle of Last Exile and am thoroughly enjoying it.
Conjured- I have to admit, I'm not all that up on anime anymore. I used to be a total otaku in high school and the start of college, but my interests have shifted since then. I still really enjoy different series and honestly, if people had good suggestions of new shows, I'll give them a look. :) The last "new" anime I watched was Tiger & Bunny, but my favorites would probably be more 'classic' shows such as Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, FLCL, etc. And if this post wasn't a clue enough, I love Satoshi Kon and pretty much anything he ever made (Paprika will always be on my top favorite movies of all time list). I also adore Tekkonkinkreet. Best spontaneous buy of my life. I was not disappointed.
Maddie- Oh yeah! I'm actually the VP of the anime club at school. Like Conjured I'm not into it as much as I was in high school, but I do still enjoy watching it. That's what I love about my club actually, we get this large variety of anime that I normally would never even know about, like Dead Man Wonderland and Mirai Nikki. My favorites I'd have to say are Yu Yu Hakusho, Ao No Exorcist, and Madoka.
Conjured: I used to read quite a few webcomics; lately I've gotten back into reading Marvel comics. But some webcomics that I do follow quite closely are: Many Guys Doing Manly Things, The Less Than Epic Adventures of TJ and Amal (warning: sometimes NSFW), Johnny Wander, Best Friends Forever, and This Is NOT Fiction. Edit: Since everyone else mentioned it, I have also read Prison Break (it was the first MSPA I ever read) and Problem Sleuth.
Hal – Oh goodness YESSSS. My first webcomic was Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, which I have read daily since I was introduced to it in 2006. After that, I was introduced to xkcd, and later on I discovered the wonders of Questionable Content, Girls with Slingshots, Johnny Wander, Double K, Surviving the World, Manly Guys Doing Manly Things, and probably my favorite, Dinosaur Comics. I read the phenomenal and wonderful Hark! A Vagrant a little more frequently than it updates, and I also occasionally check in on Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal (sort of NSFW), Wondermark, and A Softer World. Additionally, I used to read AceroTiburon and Scandinavia and the World, and I've read Dar! (occasionally NSFW) in its entirety. Oh, and I've read Jailbreak, Problem Sleuth, Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff, and RyanQuest, but I think MSPA goes without saying. Needless to say, I read a lot of webcomics.
Kait: Oh man I could make a big huge list of all the ones I read..... but my all-time favorites are Lackadaisy, Helvetica, Ruby Quest (really creepy), and The Meek! (a little nsfw?) Also, of course, Problem Sleuth and SBaHJ.
Maddie: I've read a few, and since I'm dumb there won't be any links to them :I But some of the ones I used to read that I need to pick back up are Questionable Content, Dr. McNinja, Girls With Slingshots, Ratman (I think that one ended though), Ctrl+Alt+Delete, and the Squishable's webcomic, along with most all of MSPA (Didn't read Bardquest)
You are absolutely welcome. We've been really pleased to see just how positive of a response that one got, and we've been glad it has helped so many. And I personally am really glad you found it so helpful and still read it. I'm glad we can help.
I hope things go well for you. I hope things go well for all of you. You all are such wonderful people, and we have been just so thrilled to see the way you guys have responded to our blog. We're just messing around, having fun, and we're so, so very pleased that you guys are having as much fun with this as we are. Thank you so much.
Maddie: Oh yeah, I cosplay a whole lot more than just PI. I've done most of my cosplays in the homestuck fandom, but by far some of my favorites come from animes. My running list so far I've done seven cosplays that I can remember off the top of my head.
This is my absolute favorite cosplay image of all time so far though, even without the troll make-up. I don't have many other decent pictures of my Mephisto or Jin cosplays, sorry :/
Hal: I have had a couple, yes! Nothing too enormous or difficult, but here was my first successful cosplay:
The Nostalgia Critic, which I wore to Daisho Con 2009 and NoBrand Con 2010. It's nothing too complex (Neither is Ace, really), but I had a blast wearing it and being in character! I've also done an OC from Rock Band, and I've been a part of a Scott Pilgrim cosplay group that Conjured put together. I'm also planning a few more, so we'll see how those turn out!
Kait: Oh gosh, I've done a couple as well! Haha I absolutely love cosplaying and I may start taking comissions over the summer. My most recent one was Karane from Skyward Sword. I cosplay mostly from video games and webcomics! One of my favorite recent cosplay photos is of my 50sstuck Jane! When my friends and I did a full 50sstuck Beta and Alpha kids group!
Anyways I'll also add a link to my personal tumblr's cosplay page, it has photos of a bunch of others I've done.
Conjured: I've done a few cosplays over the years. My first was a Mad Hatter costume when I attended my first convention in 2008. Since then I have cosplayed Naoto from Persona 4, GB!Dean Venture (Venture Brothers), Wallace Wells (Scott Pilgrim), Mr. Chang (Black Lagoon), and Sollux. I have a few in progress cosplays including Sherlock (BBC version) and Candy Corn Vampire. I don't have great shots of a lot of my cosplays, and many of my old ones I am not happy with so here's a pic of me at Daisho Con 2011 as Sol:
