I admit, I hoped the Somnus Blade was actually Veracity under another name.

// I'm glad it's not - while I would love to see Veracity return in 40k (narratively, I know it's a relic in the codex), it should be in the hands of the Knight-Commander and, with the best will in the world, Aleya is not Knight-Commander material. I would be absolutely on board with the Somnus Blade being revealed to be the sword of another named character, such as Amendera Kendel or Celia Harroda (Aphone Ire I headcannon wielding the Raptor Blade). I would have mixed feelings about it being Kaeria Casryn's after reading The Carrion Lord of the Imperium, though.
