kiba and ino - headcanons
Favorite non-sexual activity:
they like to cook. it started when kiba liked to watch her work in the kitchen, and would usually reach out for an ingredient and eat it whilst ino was making preparations. she got frustrated at some point and told him if he wanted to be in the kitchen whilst she worked then he had better haul some ass too. so now they like to cook together, and when they make desserts a lot of the batter (and other sweet ingredients) ends up on their bodies ;)
Who uses all the hot water:
sort of equal. ino needs a lot of time to maintain her obnoxiously long hair. it's not silky and smooth on it's own! that shit needs to be taken good care of! and kiba (still) bathes with akamaru so it ends up being a shower double the time. they've decided not to take showers on the same days (unless they're going it at the same time).
Most trivial thing they fight over:
general cleanliness in the home. kiba leaves his things lying all around and ino just cannot tolerate that shit. he has said, "babe! you can't tame a wild man!" so she gathered his things and threw them out the window. kiba has learnt to minimise his messes and keep them in a less conspicuous place, out of ino's way.
Who does the most of the cleaning:
ino, though she does bully him to do some of the chores when he's being a bum; like clean the bathroom after his showers, he (most of the time) takes care of akamaru, he does the dishes (she hates doing it). but ino's the one that does the dusting and bla bla.
Who calls up the landlord when the heat’s not working:
kiba. he can't trust ino to be reasonable because her job requires her to be anything but. she sometimes forgets that she's not to supposed bring her torture and interrogation skills outside of work.
no one in particular. they like to snuggle up to each other, but ino gets cold easily, so in the winter she does make a point to keep them around her better. either way, it doesn't matter. kiba likes being next to her and falling asleep with his face buried in her hair, taking in her scent. but akamaru's the one that steals the blankets on the odd occasionas when ino allows him on the bed (it's mostly because he's huge and any shifting moves the blankets, not because he uses them).
Who leaves their stuff around:
again kiba. but ino does have a lot of shampoos and conditioners lining the shelf in their bath. kiba does get irritated when he carelessly reaches for his single bottle and everything goes tumbling down into the bath. he spends 5 whole minutes picking them back up and stacking them.
kiba. he loves that stuff. he lives on milk and meat.
Who remembers anniversaries:
ino. she's a sucker for special dates, birthdays, anniversaries. kiba sometimes forgets, but he can sense her growing anticipation some days, and that reminds him that there's something coming up that he miiiiight've forgotten about.
ino mostly, but they do cook together.
they do argue a lot, but it's usually forgotten a few minutes later because ino can't help staying mad for too long (even though she tries and fails), because she always has something to say and can't expect to be silent for too long, duh. it's just that slight film of ice after a fight that needs breaking. kiba firmly believes he has said everything that has needed to be said during an argument, so there's no point in staying mad.
What do they do when they’re away from each other:
ino sometimes goes to stay at her mother's house when kiba's away on long missions. she helps at the flower shop when she's not working in t&i. trains for longer, even asking lee to train with her (a sure way to keep her busy and exhausted), and uses this time when he's away to catch up on paper work that she's neglected in t&i. kiba also likes to train a lot more, take long walks with akamaru, and usually hangs out with naruto. naruto's always up for some company with his best friend anyway.
Nicknames for each other:
kiba calls her the generic babe/baby/sweet cheeks/etc, and 'princess' when he teases her. ino calls him 'kiba-kun' when she's whining, 'hot shot' or other ego boosting name when she's teasing him. but generally it's just his name.
kiba. after shouting at her to stop crying, she followed him angrily demanding what the hell his problem was. he was too angry to say anything so he kissed her. she didn't kiss back because she was too shocked. he took a step back, his face twisted in anger and longing, and he walked away leaving her in stunned silence.
ino, she had to sort out her feelings after what happened, so she sought him out. she told herself it was time to move on, to someone that could actually reciprocate her feelings. she found him in a training ground, hinata had lead her there, he was lying on the grass sucking up the warmth from the sun. she knew he sensed her arrival but he did not get up to greet her. she walked right up to him and laid next to him, shoulders brushing. a long time passed in silence, till finally, kiba turned onto his side, ino looked at him, he brushed her hair out of her face, and she said, "let's give it a shot."
Who started the relationship:
kiba, they had been dating for a month. ino couldn't believe how much happier she was, and how much fun it was to be around each other. they were having a dinner with the rest of the rookies, it was as hectic as a gathering could be when you're 12 people with varrying personalities and, loud, obnoxious, controlling, sarcastic, quiet etc. everyone left the yakiniku-q with big smiles. kiba walked ino home. they stopped in the middle of a road, by a wall. kiba had boxed ino in, trailed kisses up her neck, her jaw, and finally her lips, "go out with me," he had said in a low murmur. "yes okay," she had replied in a daze, they ended up making out and it became a little inappropriate to keep at it out in the open.
kiba. you cannot compare.
What would they do if the other was hurt:
ino would heal him at scold him for being so careless, he'd smile and tell her that she's right just so that she would calm down. her hands would be trembling as she heals him because she wants so much to get up and hurt the person that did this. but she is a kunoichi, and emotions should be kept out of the fight... kiba is not as compliant. he would make sure she's safe, he'd let akamaru guard her, because the second he smelt her blood he had lost all sense of self-control and will go on a rampage to get back at the person who did this. (i am talking about serious ass injuries though)
