players are kinda bad though, like.. im saying this as a player myself. we make levels just to criticize them. we create drama constantly, even to the point of it being unnecessary. there are even levels that are created only for players' personal gain and greed (you've heard of skeletal extremigans somehow, haven't you?). among players, there's this constant need to be on top, which is carried over to the levels created.
of course, players themselves would never admit that. we are far too prideful to admit that we are the ones destroying the very world of the dashlands. but i stand in that players' existence must be inherently wrong
"i will admit that what you say is true.
indeed, the challengers thrive in competition. i notice that in amethyst sometimes (read: so many times actually now that i realize it), the feeling of having to be on top, of having to outdo others.
it's very very evident in everything the challengers do! they want to beat the hardest levels. they want to MAKE the hardest levels (ohhhh boiii i would know frfr). they tend to want to take advantage of everything they could to gain that.......advantage, ig (i do NOT have good vocab!!!) some of them take advantage of the game. others take advantage of other people.
so yes! if, only judging by that, then maybe we can say that challengers are bad!
but! i don't think that's inherent.
for it to be inherent (at least imo), it must be something ingrained in a challenger from the moment they enter this world. believe me when i say that i have encountered so many challengers throughout my few years of being in the dashlands. i have seen new ones. old ones. but from them all, none have entered simply to declare 'i am here for the purpose of being Bad™!'.
actions can be wrong. thus, the challengers can do wrong actions. but it is beyond our ability to judge someone's complex morality based on our perception alone.
the need to be on top and to be correct is not the fault of one sole thing. it is made by years of this world's estalishment combined with the context of the world from where the challengers come from. maybe some of them can only find true life and achievement in the dashlands. maybe some were raised in environments where wrong actions are normalized. none of us can know! all of that is not enough to un-wrong an action, but it surely must be enough to un-wrong the complexities of a person
additionally, if challengers' very existence was bad, then our world should suffer from them being here. except it doesn't, as a whole! maybe, in small occurrences that we magnify, their existence seems like a loss. but without them, there would be no new levels! there would be no new support! i dread the possibility that robtop would forget us. the challengers stop that from happening
i think that while there are challengers that have done many, many wrong actions, we still cannot call all of them in general as bad people.
thanks if you read all this, 🧬 anon! aaaa this is my first time having long convos like this w someone new (unless youre like. amethyst in disguise bc she WOULD do this) so much sorries if this comes off as kinda a rude response,, "
