“I’m in charge of recruiting, not scheduling. But, we usually meet out in the Tundra. And there’s six other members, but they always wear masks so I don’t know who they are.”
“That’s helpful…” the dog shook his head. “I dunno old man, I’m not much for meeting people I can’t see.” he tilted his head.
“Well, that’s your choice. I can’t make you do anything. Still, take the band and think it over. You’ll get a letter next time we have a meeting, and then you can decide if you wanna show up.”
“Alright.” he chuckled and slipped the band on. “Not sure how much anyone would wanna see a shaggy old mutt like me though.” he smiled and wagged his tail.
“I wouldn’t say that. Just having you to talk to makes my day a little better. Though, I am an old person, so there’s a lot of room for improvement.” Wilhelm said. “But I can say you wouldn’t be the scariest sounding thing in the room.”
“Oh… you sure about that?” he chuckled. Trusty did have the scariest voice he knew of. He really doubt it got scarier than raspy old mutt. But then he didn’t know many people.
“One of the guys sounds like a Varkid. That’s enough to freak me out, and I fought in the Corporate Wars.”
“A varkid… better keep Cosi away then, she eats varkid.” he chuckled and shook himself. “Yeah and I’m escaped Living Hyperion Weapon.” he smirked some.
“You’re no weapon. Now, me, I’m a weapon. Spent much of my adult life making myself into one. Hell, I started practicing with a sniper rifle back when my arms still had a little bit of their original bone in ‘em.”

“Very funny old man, very funny.” he chuckled some and looked to the cyborg.
“I’m dead serious” Wilhelm gestured to a silkscreen printer behind him. “I made them myself. Needed to do something after that factory turned out worthless.”
“I dunno, you think any are big enough for this shaggy old mutt? Huh?” he asked and chuckled some. He hoped not wearing clothes would make him hot and there was a chance he could burn them.
“I’d say you’re a double-extra-large. Probably a little barrel-chested. Yeah, I got a shirt that’d fit you” Wilhelm smirked at his amalgamated friend.
“Ha, be better off with an armband for this shaggy mutt. Less chance it’ll get burned, I’ve got enough fur as is smartass.” he grinned and shook himself.
“Whatever you say, pup.” Said Wilhelm, rooting around in one of the boxes. He pulled out one of the shirts and tore off a sleeve. “Here. We have meetings on mondays. You don’t have to turn up, but if you do, you’ve gotta wear the logo.”
He was serious, gosh he was actually serious. “Old fool.” he teased and laughed. “Alright well Where is better question. And are we the only ones?” an ear lifted much like a brow would.

“The factory won’t be far from here. Still, we should scavenge some supplies from the town: water, something to eat, and some of those old medical kits. The factory should see us as employees because of the codes, but it’s never a good idea to take chances.” Wilhelm pointed to a building that had an anthropomorphized syringe on the front of it. “ The medicine shop will have most of that.”
“A good idea.” he said and lifted his nose sniffing. “Hmmm…” well there was food, but there was also wildlife about, not much. “There’s a mother skag and her pups to the left. They shouldn’t bother us as long as we don’t bother them.” he stated and flicked his ears.
“Then we’ll give them a wide berth. No need to start something we don’t want to finish.” Wilhelm brought a hand to his chin. “ What we should really worry about is ourselves, anyway.”
“True.” he nodded and flicked his ears. “They are sleeping, but that could change very fast.” he stated and then trotted over to the food smell. “You said this place was abandoned right?”
“Yeah, it should be. It used to be Dahl mining town before Atlas took over. After the Polykryten vein ran out, Atlas slaughtered the entire settlement. And I don’t need to tell you what happened to Atlas.” Wilhelm said. “ Why? Do you smell someone else?”

“Skag bile? As in vomit?” he asked and tilted his head. “Did you forget I am part skag?” he questioned and flicked his tail. Shaking himself...

“I figured it’d be rude to ask.” shrugged Wilhelm. “ ‘sides, I figured you’d get bored. The place is probably deserted, considering it’s sitting in a dried up lakebed.”
“It’s not rude for a friend to ask for help.” he chuckled. “Besides I have nothing to do today, and anyway an old mutt like me would probably find a corner to pass out in.” he smirked.
“Yeah, I guess you could come along. Though, I’d think twice about taking a nap before I can get the air conditioning on. It gets real hot out there, and when you’re inside a building that at least has a three story infinite energy generator, it’s even worse.” Wilhelm turned to leave, signaling Trusty to follow. “ Other than that, do what you want, I won’t stop you.”
“Yes well being part fire spitter skag my body can withstand heat longer than most.” he pointed out as he followed Wilhelm. Yawning again and shaking himself. “Besides, heat doesn’t bother me much as is.” he added, trotting along tail swaying.
“With a coat like yours, you wouldn’t think so.” said Wilhelm, activating the nearby fast-travel station. ” Ah, here we are. I remembered to put down a beacon before I left. My request went through in record time.”
As the Fast Travel whirred to life, the unusual duo were transported across the planet to a small ghost-town reminiscent of a more sparsely populated Lynchwood.
“Baha, you say? She wouldn’t happen to be related to a guy named ‘Ted Baha’?”
“I do believe Cosi mentioned something about that, yes. Why?” he asked and chuckled.
“I met that guy inside Claptrap’s head one time. Jack was being a douche about the whole thing.” Wilhelm shook his head. “Anyway, I had to come back out here because the doors on that factory are made from a Polykryten alloy. I thought I had some skag bile, but it looks like I’ve got to go find some more.”
